You heard me right, we will have forum downtime, for how long? I'm not too sure, but I guarantee you it'll be for atleast 2 days. Why you ask, because we're finally making our switch to vB forums. And during that switch, we'll be reimporting all the users, posts, threads, and forums, after that we need to get everything sorted out and fixed, and most importantly, we need to set up a new skin for the forum. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I believe the end result will make up for the downtime, so until then, post post post!(or not)

If you have questions, post them in here please.

yes we are, and yes post counts will be kept. The only thing not kept is your password, you'll need to use the password retrieval system to get a new one.(This is due to the fact that the way passwords are encrypted in IPB and vB are different, which prevents the import system from importing the current user passwords into vB)

Members will be kept. The database will be directly imported though your pass won't, probably cos IPB uses an algorithim that cannot be decrypted to encrypt your password. So no problem, your account will be exactly as it is and all details should be kept.

you get to keep everything you will not need to create a new acount. the only thing you will have to worry about is getting your password you would just click adn say you lost it and it will send you a new one. once you sigh on you can change it back to your old one

you can change it if you go to "my controls". scroll down the menu on the left side until you see the one that says "change e-mail address".

May I make a proposal– when setting the new forums up, how about putting some more OP-related graphics in the stock avatars library. The character mug shots from arlongpark itself would be perfect.

I offered AfterShock while ago (though they're same set as the ones in KEFI), but I guess I should pimp them to somebody else +_+

As for member number, I don't think vB has that feature.

vB does not retain a member number but it WILL retain the date you joined, which you can use to push weight on anyone, I guess.

(And man, this thread really reminds me why I've always pressed to get rid of post counts at the forums I admin at already…)

You don't need to remove the post count, just be capricious and bizarre with it. I assigned 750 posts (more than all but two of the members in a forum of 75 members) to a new visitor because he posted some interesting stuff as a non-registered user. I set ranks to 10,000 posts and have pondered awarding someone 1,000-2,000-5,000-10,000 just to make sure they render properly. It was clearly all meaningless.
