Ok now that the news sunk in and I've had some distance to the first one to really reflect on it…
Like seriously the first games is way more than its gameplay to me it's the presentation(music, how the game looks and yeah even the story in some weird way) that elevates it beyond the gameplay which is somewhat weak, I mean I didn't mind it that much for a first entry more than acceptable.
But I get the criticism.
I do hope that combat gets a bit more varied with more attack types etc but more importantly they should make more use of positional gameplay and tweak enemies for it(turn rates, dodgable aoe attacks, etc). I mean things like speedster monsters would gain so more depth through that.
And the second thing I dearly hope for is give us more power over recruiting monsters. Pleeeease I mean I don't have that much hope since they don't even do that in Yokai Watch but still.
