@Mr.:
And I don't mean to downplay or smack-talk about the Move (I haven't even played it yet ), but it still will need good games if it wants to be truly appreciate. When it comes to video games, all the highest technology is wasted if the games aren't any good.
Same could be said for Wii, and sadly, is has turned out that way. Look at the majority of the games. They're either based on movies or simple games that just try to take advantage of motion controls.
But that's not to say the Wii is crap. I mean, c'mon, it's a system that has all of my old favorites on one sweet console (Super Metroid, Mega Man, Starfox 64, etc.), and some of the Wii specific games really aren't that bad, like No More Heroes, Madworld, Super Mario Galaxy (that's a given :P).
I'll just have to wait and see how the Move is. ~~
Nah, its cool. Everyone has their opinions really. I'm not really that excited about the games coming out for the Move, but I can tell that it will attract the general public, which is what Sony wants, I suppose. Though I know there will be reason for the more "casual and hardcore gamers" to get one of these. Apparently they're supposed to make the shooting games more intense, like The Shoot (coming out in October), or Resident Evil 5 Gold Ed. or Time Crisis: Razing Storm.
Yeah, I do agree that graphics are not everything, I'm hoping the games will live up to the hype according to the demos.
It seems like it would be a good platform to use for party games, again, I feel like some of these coming out for the Move might be pretty interesting.
I'm almost looking forward to The Fight:Lights Out, to be released in October, I saw the demos for that, it looks pretty awesome. And what better way to take your anger out on something XD
Like I said, I just didn't find the Wii all that impressive to begin with, but I do love that you can play old Nintendo games on it.
As for the wiimote, I hate that you have to buy batteries for it. The Move controllers have built-in rechargable batteries and you can easily just plug the controllers into the PS3 with a provided USB cable to charge.
Also, I guess it seems like everything is going HD these days, the problem with the Wii is that the resolution is not meant for HDMI at all. It looks fine on standard def tv's, but once you put that on a HDMI 32 or 48 in screen, the 480p resolution just stretches and looks awfully pixelated.
The PS3 Move can still look ok on SD, but on HD it looks amazing. It can go up to 1080p on the resolution, but you have to have an HDMI cable for that, pretty much any brand would be fine.
Anyway, I had more training to do online, so I didn't get to play with the Move today, but I will surely be there tomorrow and will be able to make an actual assessment on it.
