I loved the Davy Back Fight personally. I loved the events it had. Also picking nakama of the oppsite crew. What was a big surprise Zoro was able to use his tatsumaki without his swords. I was about to forget about Porche how foolish of me.
Just to tell you guys One Piece isnt Hell-fansubs top priority right now so those that are waiting for the subs might need to wait a bit longer.
I can wait untill K-F releases it. I'm still watching Arabasta, anyway.
If you are waiting for K-F you have a long way to go. But you wont be dissappointed.
I've read the DBF, but not seen the anime. I heard there are additional games that weren't in the manga.

I don't read the manga. I think it is like a spoiler to the anime but that is just me. Yes there a addtional events to the Davy Back Fight. There is kinda of like a Roller Jam type event that was very fun to watch.

and just a friendly tip read the manga its like 10 x better than the anime IMO of course.
and in my opinion the DBF was the weakest arc in OP the only thing i really liked was when they met Aokiji but im not sure thats considered to be a part of the DBF arc ? :unsure:

There were a few things I wasn't sure of, so I can't wait 'till K-F catches up. 
I don't really watch the davy back fight in anime yet. From the manga, it seem good though, Zoro and Sanji finally decided to join force. 
The Davey Back Fight is IMO the by far worst animated manga arc. This is arc half manga half filler. It stinks! There have been additional games added which of course completely changed the dramar in picking the nakama. And the end with Foxy sucked big time because it had to be done in context to the Memory Thief filler arc and even Tonjit had an alternative way how he was able to return to his people.
I'm sorry, I really love the anime but Toei dropped the ball here big time. I had no problem with the Alabasta fillers since they didn't mess with the official manga cannon (they just streched it) but the anime DBF completely chopped everything appart. It was funny to watch I admit, but I couldn't enjoy it because it messed contradicted the manga cannon (which is the real deal) so much.

Wow, you really think they screwed it up that bad Ivotas? I'll have to see for myself, but that's definately not encouraging to hear. I loved DBF in the manga. I know it's not the greatest in terms of plot, it's basically an original manga filler, but it's not supposed to be anything big. I thought it was nice that there was a short, fun, humorous little side story to take a breather from all the heavy-handed stuff. And yes, you can't not love Afro Luffy.

I dug it, haven't seen the anime version (since were a long way off on both ends in the U.S.). Nami was a hoot in the first round, destorying all the obstcales during the race. Second round was especially enjoying, mainly to see one of the rare chance that Zoro and Sanji work together. and the fight with Foxy was pretty exciting, love that countdown when Luffy finished him. And of course the finale of the storyline with Ao was a great way to lead into the Water 7 arc.

To answer your question, yes they screwed it up pretty badly IMO. But it doesn't mean that it isn't fun to watch. It is entertaining, funny and everything but when I was given the time to reflect I was very pissed that they chopped Oda's version appart that much.
I really rather see much filler that keep crap among themselves instead of taking it to the manga material and messing it up badly. However it's just a matter of personal taste so it doesn't have to count for you too.
The Groggy Ring game was 100% true to the manga though, and probably the best animated action of the whole series. Episode 211 was amazing!
The Donuts Race changed a bit but was fun nevertheless. Instead of just having Usopp+Robin+Nami v Porsche+Monda+Fishdude, there were many other boats taking part in the race : Zoro+Chopper, Luffy+Sanji, and several boats with Foxy's henchmen. But it was all additionnal fun and in the end, the duel between the two main boats was more or less faithful to the manga.
They added several games so that when Luffy and Foxy had to fight, both Chopper and Robin were part of Foxy's crew. Impossible to win both in one game, so they included a plot device : the last game's winner would take 50 people from the other crew. Since the Straw Hats didn't have that many members, Foxy claimed their children would be his too, which had a funny scene with Sanji thinking about having a daughter looking like Nami.
The last fight was again very faithful to the manga, but everything that happened past it was changed. First, since Luffy won, he claimed both Chopper and Robin back, plus 48 members of the Foxy crew - all but Foxy, Porsche and Hamburg. Then, he dismissed all of them. Because the animators wanted to include a filler arc, they couldn't immediately show Ao Kiji, as it would be strange to see Robin shocked, then all of the sudden happy again in a filler arc, then again moody in Water Seven. So, they postponed Ao Kiji and created another ending for Tonjit.
Then came the filler arc, then two episodes featuring Foxy, Porsche and Hamburg plotting against the Straw Hats and getting their crew back from the Frog Captain (the guy Foxy won through the suggested DBF preceding the one vs the Straw Hats in the manga)… and finally, they landed on a deserted forest island with Ao Kiji and some lost people. Instead of helping Tonjit, Ao Kiji helped those lost people.
So, yeah, they screwed up the DBF arc a little, though the three main events were perfect IMO... but we should be thankful as it is thanks to these fillers that we now have a filler-free Water Seven.

Precicely, that and the final fight were faithful to the manga and they were totally awesome. One more proof how awesome the entire would have been if Toei wouldn't have screwed it up.
The biggest screw up was that Foxy first chose Chopper, Luffy then Sherry, then Chopper, then Foxy Chopper again, afterwards Robin and in the end Luffy got both back at the same time plus the flag of the Foxy Pirates. What a destruction of dramatic manga material.

I loved the Foxy filler arc that happened before Ao helped those people stranded on the island. It was funny as fuck. And Foxy had a few cool quotes in it. otherwise, I liked it that Ao helped Tonji more. Extra games and stuff? well, if I said that was bad, I'd be retarded. I don't, however, like any fillers in the show other than them two filler episodes with Foxys crew and the Zoro flashback one where he was a bounty hunter. The chopper and robin one was nice too. but the rest I don't like.
Davy Back Fight wasn't all that good to me, but it was funny at least. I'm more happy with Water 7 though
edit - and Cinder, that pic with the young nami has subtitles. how is that? no group has subbed up to there yet o.o

I might've made a mistake in my own listening but wasn't the deal five hundred from the other crew ? I'm about 99% sure that Luffy complained about the GM not being able to hold 500 people…

I don't get what people have against the Davy Back arc having filler events. Other than the Luffy vs. Foxy finale, I actually liked the filler events better overall. The dodgeball one wasn't that great, but Red Light, Green Light had a lot of clever twists and turns to it, and the rollerblading event kicked ass. I didn't really care for the anime donut race, though. All those extra boats made things too convoluted.
