I just started the sixth one yesterday. And really didn't express interest. You guys are making me want to watch it.
Though, SW wasn't all the hype lead to me to believe it would be.

And the arrows' scene… The colors there are just amazing.
You have to watch it Gypsy. Really.

Really?
Huh….I saw it and loved the hell out of it.
Pulled it up to let buffer. I've seen that AMV before and it's actually one of the pieces that sent me to One Piece.
I bought five One Piece books today. My Mother laughed at me and said "it was my form of squirming." Since it's rare I buy books in case I dislike them. Although I read like it's going out of style.
Really?
Huh….I saw it and loved the hell out of it.
Oh, I liked it! It just wasn't SUPER MEGA AWESOME GOOO as I thought.
The scene where Zoro cuts the door and Usopp simply sticks his foot though. Oh my god. That was my first time ever spitting a drink though.
@Eli:
Plus no outrageous fanservice like in all the other OP movies.
SW is sadly filled with those oh-look-my-boobs-have-a-life-on-their-own scenes that make me really sad / angry / palmfaced.
16 Characters of /signed!
This is the reason why I never ever finished the seventh movie. I watched like the first half hour, then I couldn't handle and stand it anymore.
And that's what disturbs me most of SW.
(and the fact that Nami… don't know if I should tag this as spoiler, I just do it
! at the end goes up the roof, stands there, says something to shiki and then… this was it. wtf? why does she go there with her weapon looking like "I'm going to kick your ass"? Just to fall off then? And why did she even disrupt her dress? It's not like she went off for fighting (what I was expecting when she stood on the roof) … well yeah, that's really getting on my nerves XD)
It definitely takes a bit of getting used to, the sixth one. I had to watch it a couple times like I said. It's difficult to describe. Perhaps one thing that stood out is that the minor characters actually played a more important role in the story than the Strawhats (Movie 2, 3, and 5 had some good fight scenes).
Oh, I liked it! It just wasn't SUPER MEGA AWESOME GOOO as I thought.
Well, at least you liked it. :)

I'm confused…you mean this positively, right?
Also, I've heard great things from Movie 6, but alas I have not seen it yet. Definitely on my "to-watch in future" list.
The first thing I notice about it, is that I love the animation. FLUID.
I'm confused…you mean this positively, right?
Of course! It was so funny and I have no idea why I laughed so hard.
Just he's all: "BAM!"
Sanji is all: "Dude. Not cool."

One of the complements people say about this movie. Fluid animation is good. I should definitely watch it to see all the buzz about it.

Oh okay….I laughed at that scene too. Gotta love the humor in OP. XD

I can see where people would get a little…weirded watching it. It's so clean that it's lovely to watch. Detail makes me smile.

One Piece humor is perfect. There are so many scenes anime or manga that I giggle at each time.
Thanks for spoiler tagging Nami. FYI: I haven't watched Strong World (am I the only one?). When I think back on it, I'd really love more sinister type movies like number 6 just for the fact that we don't often see stuff like that.

But of course. (Although, in this movie, it seems art was sacificed for animation, but no biggie).
I also can't believe it actually contains a death. Worth watching.

Same here. One Piece makes me laugh so much. XD
I saw an awesome amv for the sixth movie one youtube with Trapt- Victim. That's how I got to the movie AND to the band XD
unfortunately it's not one YT anymore but here's the song.

Oh shit! Then I'll stop spoiling it, Piratemarimo.
It's still worth a watch. Many great scenes. :)

No need to tell me that twice!! I'm gonna love every minute of it.
I should also stop since I've kind of been doing the same thing. ^__^''
Let's talk about the animation quality itself then. that should be spoiler free right? Movie 2 and 3 had nice animation quality to it. I disliked movie 9's a bit more despite the fact that it was similar to the 6th one. What about you guys? Which one's got the most appeal?
…. totally off topic but is it normal that u get PMs from users u never talked to before and they want u to visit a OP roleplaying site...?
I'm just curious if I should mark it as spam or something like this...
So far, I'm very fond of SW's animation. Though fluid, it still kept many classic One Piece shots, then from 9 and 6. SW's coloring was also my favorite. Because it was so bright and tropical.
Though, in SW, Nami's breast were played by two different and very jumpy people.

I got the same thing once. :X
I deleted it, in my situation. I'm pretty sure that person sends it to new members….don't worry about it.

ok, thanks.
How I hate such things..:getlost:

Yeah….it totally surprised me.
Anyways on topic: I loved Strong World, two reasons for its animation and art. It was pretty fluid, and the colors were just so appealing to look at. :D
Aside from the breasts thing, Movie 7 was nice quality. Nice mechas and all that. Movie One is a bit iffy for me. I haven't seen it in a long while, and naturally it wouldn't be as mind-blowingly awesome animation because they had less budget (though it was still above par animation relative to where the OP anime was in the storyline) but that one stands out the least for me.
Haha. But the first one is so cute to go back to when you're bored. :)
I've just passed the goldfish scene in part 6. The CGI fish was a bit…iffy. As were the CGI effects in SW.

I'm really afraid of that…. THING because of the CGI.
Definitely gotta love Movie 8, for Crocodile is in higher def!! SQUEEE!! I felt like the final fight scene was better with the original soundtrack in the anime though. I think it's also interesting that in the scene where Crocodile impales Luffy, he gets this very angry face which wasn't there originally and I think it shows a slightly different take on Croc's character. and then they didn't show the hook going all the way through Luffy which I thought was interesting. Contrary to what some people thought, that wasn't a Funi edit, which is kind of interesting to wonder at why that part was changed.

I agree, it is annoying to an extreme degree.
@piratemarimo:
When I think back on it, I'd really love more sinister type movies like number 6 just for the fact that we don't often see stuff like that.
Well, it fits (in my opinion) the media, the best.
Most of OP movies are just long, non-cannon episodes. They don't bring anything new. They are (not always) nicely animated and that's almost all there is to praise (again, my opinion).
'Baron Omatsuri and the Secret Island' is new. Non canon but really doesn't feel like it.
I never thought they could make something different and definitely brilliant in an OP movie.
The animation and design isn't only good, it's different, somehow, slightly European.
The whole movie shows the Straw Hats in a new light and I think I actually grew more attached to them after seeing it. I mean Luffy.. Luffy was so… sigh
And the OC ! They are all so interesting; the one who says puh is cute, Brief is so lovable, Muchigoro, the Baron...
It is fun, it is dark, it is heart-wrenching... Really, watch it guys.
If you didn't like it the first time, try again, (I think) you won't regret it.
I'm blabbering. Sorry. goes to bed Night'

I cannot remember why I stopped watching that movie. FUN FACT. I have never read or watched Crocodile and Luffy's last fight. I have no idea why.
Anyway. They seem to exaggerate characters in the movies. So, Croco's face being all sinister isn't shocking to me. Speaking of characters like Crocodile, am I the only one for a Enis Lobby remake for 11th movie?
I cannot remember why I stopped watching that movie. FUN FACT. I have never read or watched Crocodile and Luffy's last fight. I have no idea why.
Whoa, whoa. Really? Well….it's in my best interest, along with piratemarimo and every other Crocodile fan, to recommend it to you.
(I don't care if Crocodile lost, I still thought it was AWESOME)
Speaking of characters like Crocodile, am I the only one for a Enis Lobby remake for 11th movie?
Eh, I'm not sure. Enies Lobby action would look great in movie quality, but a lot of stuff would be crammed in so little time. I wouldn't mind it, but I'd be more partial towards a Skypiea remake. Enel on the big screen…..:D
We're so close to 100 pages now. I'm afraid that if I go to bed, I'll wake up in the morning to find that I missed the party. I should have started gathering together my Supernova stuff earlier because now it's harder to sort it. After Skyrius posts that veritable wall of images, I plan on doing the Supernova stuff. Bonney needs more love is all I can say. :I
I can hardly dedicate one entire page per supernova when she has so much less stuff than Luffy, Zoro, Law, and Kidd. Hell, even Drake has more (not that I'm complaining) but still.
Whoa, whoa. Really? Well….it's in my best interest, along with piratemarimo and every other Crocodile fan, to recommend it to you.

Yeah. It really confuses me why I haven't. I'll start it and then just be like: "Wonder what Mom is cooking?" That'll be tomorrow's project.

It really would be SO MUCH to cram. But the animation and just gracefulness of some of the fights would make me so happy.
Wait? What are we doing for the 100th page?
Definitely a Skypiea remake. People give that arc way too much shit and Enies Lobby was far more drawn out and full of unnecessary filler (I've just started watching the arc and I'm around episode 273 right before Luffy fights with gear second) Luffy vs. Blueno was such a trolling because that episode had practically nothing to do with Luffy.
Oh god, yes. Enies Lobby/Water 7 is my favorite arc to read. The manga is clearly superior to the anime in that arc especially.
So. I just ripped my brand new One Piece book. OF COURSE.
GOOD GRIEF PEOPLE. I leave for less than a day and this happens XD I remember back when this place was just starting and I left for 2 days and came back to 3 pages and thought that was a lot >_>
At this rate, page 100 is going to come and go while I'm dead asleep :ninja: For the record, if that happens, I'm still going on my image dump, but it won't be for the 100th page celebration. Good lord, I'm not even done with saving all my images on Imageshack. I honestly don't think I'll make it in time XD Oh well. I've actually been working on the banner, so I didn't get on to check this place that often. In addition to that, I was making something to help Gypsy out, but it's like juggling a nuclear bomb with this place. I mean that in the best way possible. (by the way Gypsy, if you haven't already, make that thread for the crack-fic over on the Creativity forum and link it for me, I have an idea. I'll tell you as soon as I find a way to extend the day into 32 hours so I can split it evenly into enough time to draw, animate, read, write, and save and upload images XD
So, I'm not going to be on for the next day since I'm going back to visit my family and we're all going out. If I don't make it in time for the 100th page, Piratemarimo, take up my sword and throw a wild disco rave chocolate volcano shrimp motorbike midnight party of awesome and images for me alright? winks
But I'm going to try. Just hope I don't sleep through it XD

I'm gonna make you proud!!! … Unless I accidentally sleep through it too. <__< I'm setting my alarm clock.
I was thinking of writing a crackfic here…. but I want permission from Gypsy :ninja:
As for movies....
I find movie 1 somewhat tolerable actually because it has sort of a nostalgic, old-school Lupin III style to it
I hate movie 2 with the passion of a thousand burning suns of RAGE. I'll never forgive the movie but I can't say I didn't enjoy Sanji with bloodied, ruined feet/ Sanji getting hit by a bomb and captured by the enemy/ Sanji tied up/ Sanji crucified
hated movie 3. boring. contrived. basically just a 2 hour filler arc.
movie 4 was okay. I have to admit... I have a weakness for Shuraiya.... Didn't care much for the villain or the atypical filler child who gets helped by the crew.
movie 5 is watch-able for me but I definitely wouldn't go so far as to call it "good". It was like a fanfiction written by a zoro fan. A somewhat emo zoro fan.
movie 6 is love. I think I like it as much as Strong World. I didn't think it was overly dark really especially in comparison to the whitebeard war and impel down. I liked that everyone seemed to get about equal action in the film. I also happen to love this animation for this movie. It really reminds me of the original digimon movie which I grew up loving so again... nostalgia. Also the main villain was excellent- the only of the one piece movies where I felt the villain was worthy of Oda.
There were good and bad parts of movie 7 for me. I did like the animation. However, side characters and villains were boring to me. The crew solving riddles toward the beginning was kind of fun so I liked that.
Movie 8 is good because the animation is a bit better than the original alabasta arc but... a lot of stuff is cut out so it's harder to appreciate the awesomeness that is Alabasta and you certainly can't watch it without having already read/watched the original story. Dislike how they added Vivi getting Luffy's hat.
Movie 9 again animation is better and lots of daww over Chopper but no real value other than that. things we've seen before cut and with some other sh-t added in
One thing I hated about movies 8 and 9 was the removal of the Allegra con fuoco from Crocodile's defeat and ave maria from Hiriluk's death. I thought those were brilliant and two of the best decisions the animators have ever made.
Aside from how Zoro was treated, my biggest problem with Movie 5 was how, by the time Saga turned into that hell-demon thing, it didn't feel like One Piece at all. I liked the fights and the triumph music, but that's about it.
Ignoring the breats, Movie 7 was quite a fun movie, and the art was all very colorful and bouncy (not in that way).
Off-topic, when (notice i say "when", not "if", because i KNOW it will happen while i'm asleep XD) when 100pg party hits and you don't hear from me for a while, it's because i got buried under the awesomeness, so if anyone could please lend me a sniffer dog to help me find my way out afterwards, it would be appreciate AHAHAH XD
Aaaaaand i think i'm out for the night XD :3
Damn. Missed a few things. Not gonna bother going back unless there is something I should look at (is there?)
Anyways. Movie rankings. Mine kinda go like this:
Movie 6 > 7 > 4 > 9 > 8 > 3> 2 > 1 > 5
6 is easily my fave. It was just enjoyable the whole way through.
7 I liked the animation and the art style. Bouncy Boobs were a lol. It wins simply because of those sexy dresses Nami and Robin wore at one point.
4 was good despite crap movie chars (Shuryia etc.) and a forgettable villain
9 and 8 were remakes. Personally I'd rather re-read the whole thing rather than a lite. 9 was changed enough for it to be put over 8
1, 2 and 3 I barely remember. But I do recall them being rather bad. Although 3 had a hilarious bit with the crew dressing up as animals IIRC.
5 was just blah. I dislike Zoro plotlines as is and a whole movie was just gah.
I've yet to see Strong World since the only thing I was looking forward to seeing was the costumes. Which I can look at figures for anyways. Shiki didn't really win me over in vol 0 enough to warrant seeing the thing.
As for a Movie 11. Um. I'd like to see a Chopperman film. The movies never tend to be anything great so I wouldn't mind missing out on an adventure to get something else. And I REALLY don't want to see another arc remake. Skypiea, Enies Lobby etc is too long to cut down (Although I suppose you could get rid of the some of the Sky Games and Norland) and Half the main cast missing for an Arlong one probably wouldn't work these days.
weird , i always thought movie 1 and 2 were pretty good,while 3 and 5 sucked
and for some reason i havent seen 6 yet because the links i get dont work
7 was somewhat good
9 was good and 8 was somewhat good
10 was awesome
and 4 is my favourite besides 10
so :
10>4>2>9>7>1>8>3>5
thats my opinion
I was thinking of writing a crackfic here…. but I want permission from Gypsy :ninja:
you're the captain, remember? your word is law, even if it's about crackfics.
here, let me help you out with an example.
_The door suddenly slammed open, interrupting the couple's embrace. Garp and trapped whirled around to see Gypsy standing in the doorway, face red and blotchy, with her fists clenched so tightly her fingernails were drawing blood.
"How dare you?!" she hissed, hurt and anger pouring into each syllable she spoke.
Trapped's eyes widened as she took in the situation. Without much thought needed, she quickly arrived at the conclusion that Garp was by no means worth enduring Gypsy's wrath. With a hurriedly muttered excuse, she slipped out of the room, leaving a silent Garp to deal with the soon to explode Gypsy.
As soon as the door closed, Gypsy stalked over to Garp as he folded his arms expressionlessly.
"Her?" she exclaimed, disdain showing clearly through her voice.
"It's none of your business," Garp answered tonelessly.
"None of my business?!" Gypsy's voice bordered on a screech. "After what we_ did_, you claim that it's none of my business?!"
A hint of emotion flickered on Garp's face, but he swallowed it. "We didn't do anything. You said so yourself - what happened that night meant nothing at all."
"I said no such thing!"
A vein twitched in Garp's temple, as his emotions began to boil over. "No? Well, you certainly acted that way! Why, with the way you've been whoring around with the Supernovas and the Strawhat guys -" Before Garp could finish, he heard the sound of skin meeting skin, and his cheek started to smart. He stared at the woman before him speechlessly, as he held a hand to his face. "You…"
Before he could find the right words, she abruptly fell against him, her arms clasped tightly around his large back, her face buried into his neck.
"Gypsy...?" he said cautiously, the muscles in his neck flexing, evidence of his age and experience.
"You silly man," she whispered into his shirt. "_They _are the ones who mean nothing to me."
He paused, letting her words sink in. His arms slowly wrapped around her thin waist, offering support to her clearly emotional self. "Gypsy…"
"All my life, I've been looking for that one man who could grant me happiness. After years of searching, I thought I'd never find him, that he didn't exist. So I decided to make up for it with several men." She paused, and cleared her throat a little, clearly embarrassed. Garp stroked the back of her head, silently urging her to continue.
"That was until I found you," she murmured, a gentle tone to her voice that Garp had never heard before. "You... you're all I want, Garp. You've tamed this wild, wild gypsy."
Garp sucked in his breath, stunned at the words he was hearing. The words he thought he'd never hear, at least not from the one woman who had been haunting his dreams.
Gypsy lifted her face to meet Garp's eyes with her own teary-filled ones. "Say something?" she whispered, the vulnerability shining through her voice.
His low, aged voice spoke in that vibrating timbre she so adored listening to. "I love you."
A wide smile spread across her face as joy filled her, and he matched it with his own grin. "I, Garp, love you, Gypsy. You're the only one I'll ever want. I want to spend the rest of my life with you."
Letting out a squeal unmatched by the happiest of women, Gypsy wrapped her arms around Garp's thick neck and started peppering kisses on his forehead, cheeks and chin. Garp chuckled, and pulled her closer for a soft, gentle, sealing kiss.
And as the sun slowly set on the seas, its fiery rays poured into the room through the windows, seeming to set them afire with a light incomparable. A light that symbolised their love, their bond, their relationship, which would never again be torn apart.
The End._
! That means no payback, Gypsy.
on-topic (like anyone cares): i've actually never watched any of the One Piece movies. do i have to be kicked out now?

yes , die now…
need some links?
nah you aren't really missing out on anything special by not watching them. They're all about as good as filler really.

not really , even the crappy movies are only below G8. i would atleast see movie 10 (ofcourse) and 6(like me)
i don't have time to watch movies right now, so links probably wouldn't be of much use. and i've never watched the anime either so i don't know how good the fillers are. :ninja:
peace offering time! took these from the Awesome Images thread. courtesy of Strawcat.
this one will/should make you laugh:

this one may make you cry. warning: long image, but there's meaning to the length.

well i do recommend 10 because they promoted it in the manga
and i just saw those images in the awesome images thread:happy:
Am I the only one who didn't understand the appeal of Thatch? Especially how some people flame on BB because he killed him. The guy was only made to be killed off by BB. Nothing more XD
eh, i don't really get it either. it took me some time to remember who Thatch was, honestly. i wouldn't say he was made to be killed off, but he never caught my eye. anyway, if i had to flame Blackbeard i'd much rather do it because he sent Ace to his death.
! why has no one reacted to my crackfic? was it that bad?
Am I the only one who didn't understand the appeal of Thatch? Especially how some people flame on BB because he killed him. The guy was only made to be killed off by BB. Nothing more XD
if you see it that way… butyou are right :p
but he did more things in the anime
and i am one off the people who didnt like bb before he killed wb
Eh. WB I didn't particularly care about. Although marinedford is easily my least fave arc since it's got no exploration and is a bunch of small fights of people I don't care about fighting over a char that I also didn't care about. WB just seemed like hype and a generic strong guy who was obviously gonna die since we first saw him.
Ace too was kinda meh. I felt more about Merry than I did him. Probably because I'd spent a whole arc thinking 'Why should I care about a guy we seen in about 12 pages of the entire serie being in this prison over Mugiwara?' and the whole thing after was too little too late.
i didnt find wb that great until his dead with the little flashback , than all of it changed and i thought he was great
ace had some cool powers but he was becoming emo , so yeah…
