Glenn Shadix has passed.

Beetlejuice actor Glenn Shadix has died at the age of 58 in his Alabama home, The Associated Press reports.

Shadix was best known for playing snooty interior designer Otho in the 1988 Tim Burton film. He also lent his voice as the Mayor in Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas.

The actor's personal manager Juliet Green did not know the cause of death, but his sister, Susan Gagne, told The Birmingham Newsthat he had fallen out of his wheelchair and hit his head. He had developed mobility issues.

I had no idea he was having as many problems as he was. As someone who was practically raised on Tim Burton films this hits pretty hard.

Didn't know too much about the guy, but I did like the Mayor and Otho, and that seems like a pretty bad way to go (I didn't even know he was paralyzed).

Dang, I didn't know he played the mayor in Nightmare Before Christmas…something to think about next I see that or Beetlejuice.
