G'day, my name Jason, but you can just call me Sin. I don't how this forum has been hiding from me for so long, but I've found you now.
Anyway, I guess I should tell a bit about myself. A good start would be that I love anime. A few of my current 5 favourite animes would be:
-
One Piece - It's come a long way from where it started, and knowing Oda, it still has a long way to go. It's most recent movie, Strong World was spectacular, in my opinion; the best of all One Piece movies. The character development is, I think, what makes it most appealing to me.
-
Darker Than Black - I was a bit wary of the anime at first, as it took me nearly a month to finally download (yes, forgive me - piracy X.X ) and watch Season 1. I do not regret it. It has great characters, a good story; a pity Season 2 was disappointing, though the Gaiden OVAs made up for it a little and even made me cry (Gaiden > Season 2).
-
Hajime no Ippo - I'm usually not a fan of anime that is heavily revolves around sport, only ever having watched Eyeshield 21 before (which was quite enjoyable), but this really appealed to me. I can't wait till Season 3 is done, released and subbed.
-
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood - I honestly have no complaints with this series; seriously, I can't complain about one thing, everything is just perfect in my opinion. Well, I could say I am sad some scenes weren't as well portrayed as they were in the manga, but meh.
-
Hellsing Ultimate - If someone asked me what my favourite vampire-based anime was I wouldn't hesitate to name this anime. All I could complain about this anime is the long wait between each OVA, and then further wait for decent subs, AND the fact we are still waiting for any further dubbed episodes past OVA 4.
I've been a fan of anime since I was 5, though ironically enough, didn't know many of the shows I loved so much were anime till I was 10. I grew up with anime such as the original Pokemon, Digimon, Beyblades, Dragonball, Dragonball Z and when I found out about anime I started to delve in Naruto.
I don't believe I've mentioned I'm an Australian and proud of it. I've always lived in Australia but I have moved around a lot. I've lived in over 30 different homes, some bought, some built and many rented. I guess my parents just loved to move.
Whatever the reason was, it helped me get a taste of different agriculture; whether it be in the cold, lonely hills; hot, dusty countrysides; fast-paced compact cities; to even the cool, salty-aired coasts; I've had a bit of everything! From my experiences, I've come to love travelling. I wish in the future to be able to take a few holidays to different countries.
I've studied 6 different languages in my time:
- French
- Spanish
- Chinese
- Japanese
- Latin
- German
I believe I enjoyed Japanese the best - anyone care to guess why? But, it has helped me when I've been desperate enough to watch a good anime RAW. I'm defiantly not fluent, but I can get around.
I've also played 10 different sports, which include:
- Tee-Ball
- Cricket
- Basketball
- Soccer
- Football
- Swimming
- Golf
- Tennis
- Badminton
- Cross-Country Running (does this count?)
You could say, when I was little, I was quite the active little bastard. I wish I could say I am as active today as I was then, but alas, I can't. It is nice to reminisce though.
If you haven't already noticed, I like to write a lot and with a good enough grammar and punctuation as possible. I've always been like that. When I was younger (yes, yes, "we don't want your life story") I used to love writing creative stories and they were usually always in the thousands of words, which was quite a bit of trouble for my teachers. I've even written a song before when I was younger and I must say it was quite good.
Well, I think I'll stop it there. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading so much. I don't know if you get to read some a long introduction often, so consider this a treat. Oh, and a fun fact: I usually reside in AA (Anime-Anarchy Forums). It's a great forum with a very extensive supply of anime for download, whether it be subbed, dubbed, or dual-audio, and in different quality whether it be tiny to even 1080p.
Anyway, I hope I can be an active member of this forum to. Hope to you see around.
Sin.
