Missed this at E3. Art direction is interesting (Takeyasu Sawaki who was the okami character designer is involved), hopefully the gameplay measures up to it.

Well there is hope for variety with each level being based off of the desires of the fallen so this game looks like it will be awesome.

That short playthrough is the demo that was released on the Japanese PSN this week. I played it and couldn't get past the second encounter (the two guys). I just got pwned every time. Dunno if it's because I don't have a grasp on the games system (tho it's the standard heavy and light attack that's been in every action game the past 5 years) or if it's simply hard.

Well, okay, maybe the visuals aren't bland but they're really, really minimalistic. If the other levels in the game are a bit more vibrant then it'll probably look amazing.

wat? It's the other way round. Visuals look good, but the gameplay looks kind of bland. He just keeps running forward and bash some enemies inbetween for 8 minutes.
But that guy also mentioned focus on platforming later on, so who knows. -

Game looks great. I'm not a huge fan of "character action" games but I'm willing to give this one a shot. The story is apparently the usual "Japanese batshit insane" take on biblical apocrypha, which is always entertaining.

Let's see. Devil May Cry gameplay, Okami typed weapons and art-style, Kingdom Hearts(1) platforming. This could be fun. I wonder if there's a skill leveling system of any sort. Like upgrading weapons, learning maneuvers, ect.

I don't think so. The things I've read about it, it seemed like they wanted to keep a really minimalistic gameplay style, hence only 2-3 attacks and probably minimal customization if any.
