Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...
LGBT members on the forum?
-
-
No…. because he isnt ACTUALLY identified as gay, just as a crossdreser..
According to wikipedia:
"Okama (お釜, おかま) -Literally "a pot, a kettle", this word, always with the honorific prefix "O-", refers to a gay man, especially one who is viewed as effeminate or a drag queen. Can be pejorative. The word originated in Edo period slang for the anus. In current use."
-
I'm hard pressed to think of anyone here that isn't.
-
I would say 98% of all the LGBT folks I know I've met through anime/manga. To say gays don't like it is extremely untruthful, especially in the cosplay world >_>
-
Most of the gay people I know I met BECAUSE of anime.
Our school's anime club was full of 'emI remember one day a friend of mine asked everyone at a table to raise their hands if they were straight. Only me and 2 other girls raised their hands, everyone else (10 or more other people) were gay/bi
-
They should've put the Darth Vader "Noooooooo" from the end of Episode 3
Notice: The compilation of "NOs" is labeled as number "2".
All the more obvious ones were in the first one. Marty Screaming "NOOOOO BASTARDS!" when the Terrorists Shot Doc, Woody's mental breakdown of "No, no no, no no… no... no" in Toy Story, and near the end there is a WHOLE set of Star Wars ones lined right up, part of which is Vader's Episode III "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO" and Luke's "NOOOOOO! NOOoooo... " After The "Luke... I Am your Father!" Reveal.
Being a Crossdresser or being Transgendered doesn't immediately = Gay.
Plus, "Gay" is liking the same sex. If you're legitimately Transgendered, lets say you're a Male-to-Female Transgender, liking Girls would make you "Lesbian" while liking Guys would be Straight.

It's not gay unless the balls touch :ninja: .
I'm kind of surprised at how many people here are gay but I guess it's not that surprising seeing as there's so many members on here.

I'm actually Bi, and I'm sure there's plenty of others, but that's neither here nor there XD
I'm just happily with a girl right now.
-
I'm not gay right now. I'm going to pay some bills.
-
Greg's so gay that he's straight.
-
Hmm, even though beign a crossdresser doesn't always mean that you are i'd assume the majority of okamas, the ones on that pink island for example would be gay. I mean, if there's no women there they've gotta do something in their spare time.
Although i wonder if some of them do as the people of amazon lily do and go on voyages for several years and return with little okama babies.
-
Everyone should be with those that make them happy, and BE what makes them happy.
Even the Flinstones knew how to have a gay old time.
-
As I've said a few times on this board, I am bisexual. And no, I'm not really a transgender of any form.
EDIT: Also, why would your friends think fandom of manga/anime would be strange for a homosexual? The amount of INTENTIONAL homo-erotic in some manga/anime, not to mention the fanbases of slash.
@Kairouseki:
An employee of USAir with the last name of Gay boarded a USAir flight
with a free travel voucher. Soon after he sat down, someone else came
and claimed he had the same seat assignment, so Mr. Gay moved down do an
empty seat.Soon after that the airplane began to fill up. The rule with the USAir
employee vouchers is that if a paying customer needs your seat, you have
to surrender it. So when the flight became completely full and still
more needed to get on, a flight attendant went to the original seat of
Mr. Gay and said the the man now sitting there, ``Excuse me, are you
Gay?''The man, somewhat stunned, said, ``Well, yes, as a matter of fact I
am!''The flight attendent said, ``I'm sorry, but you'll have to get off the
plane.''At this point Mr. Gay, who had been watching all of this, jumped up and
said, ``Excuse me, you've made a mistake–I'm Gay!''Finally, another man jumped up and said, ``Well, hell, I'm gay too!
They can't throw us all off!''That is an awesome story.
I'm not gay, but is it weird to be gay and watch all the shit Bon Clay does?
I mean, are you offended?Flamboyancy is not a negative trait in my eyes. More importantly, Bon Clay is an amazing character and a true hearted hero.
Also, Bon Clay isn't confirmed gay. An okama could be bisexual or straight. Ouran High School Host Club has a good example of an occupational okama who not only married a woman, but had a daughter. He too is awesome beyond belief (and insanely beautiful).

We are all gay for robby

Labels suck. That out of the way, I identify as both bisexual (really pansexual but people don't generally know that word) and trans.
I don't know about GLB people but I've known no less than three transfolk that were into anime/manga (not including myself). One of them was even an officer in a large anime club I went to.

Just from going to conventions, being on forums, even a number of manga/anime fans that I went to school with, it's become apparent that a fair amount (not all, not a majority) of manga/anime fans are gay or bisexual. This seems to apply mostly to non-japanese fans.
It makes sense though, if you think about it. With all the gender-bending that goes on and the way that the characeters in many stories look and act, it subconciously attracts and commits many LGBT fans. If you're old enough and have experienced a fair slice of life, it's one of those things you can just tell and that makes sense. I think we all kind of understand and recognize why it kinda works out that way, on a subconcious or even concious level.

i am not gay , but i dont mind them , everybody should be like they want to.

Are cross-dressers gay to some degree? Like transgendered or something. Idk, I'm not the most knowledgeable person on LBGT stuff, but I know there are people who feel like they're X sex in the body of Y sex (like a man trapped in a woman's body, or vice versa). So if they cross-dress, could that be a reflection of the feelings those people have?
Cross-dressing has absolutely nothing to do with sexuality. Neither does gender identity.
I guess I just have a hard time understanding how people don't understand this anymore. o_O
Anyway, yay for LGBT members! I remember when I thought I was the only one…

This thread makes me want to fix a BLT

Kitsune Inferno is a tranny with omnisexual tendencies.
However, the person behind K-I is straight. Just felt like clearing that up.
