Ok I don't know if many people heard of this manga but i gotta say its pretty good. Here is a small summary:

"Ichigo Kurosaki has always been able to see ghosts, but this ability doesn't change his life nearly as much as his close encounter with Rukia Kuchiki, a Soul Reaper and member of the mysterious Soul Society. While fighting a Hollow, an evil spirit that preys on humans who display psychic energy, Rukia attempts to lend Ichigo some of her powers so that he can save his family; but much to her surprise, Ichigo absorbs every last drop of her energy. Now a full-fledged Soul Reaper himself, Ichigo quickly learns that the world he inhabits is one full of dangerous spirits and, along with Rukia–who is slowly regaining her powers--it's Ichigo's job to protect the innocent from Hollows and help the spirits themselves find peace."

I find it pretty good, the main character is a bit boring but i bet he gets better. My favorite character is Chad, he is such a badass, he will do awesome stuff in the future. But i like all the main characters. Kubo appears to be a really good author.

So if anybody has read this series whats your thoughts and favorite character? If you have one of course.

And a butterfly character sounds a bit retarded and stupid, but since Bleach has a bit of humor I figure its a gag character like Kon and that should be funny..

Ulquirra was awesome too, but how could he predicted that Ichigo would pull something random as super hollow out of his arse when his chest got blown out?

i'm fine and all with you guys making fun of butterfree aizen, but at least realize his design is a seraph (six winged, highest ranked angel) theme and not a butterfly.

In Numbers and Deuteronomy the "seraphim" are snakes/serpents - the association of snakes as "burning ones" is possibly due to the burning sensation of the poison. Seraphim are a class of celestial beings in Judaism and Christianity. Literally "burning ones", the word is normally a synonym for snakes when used in the Hebrew bible, but they are mentioned in the Book of Isaiah as fiery six-winged beings attending on God.

Gin refered to himself as a snake and tried to kill Aizen using poison from his blade. And Aizen has six wings now.

Yes i know the whole him being in that cocoon and hatching seems like a butterfly process, so really Kubo just kind of mashed both things together

he's the only character in the series capable of pulling off Aizen's trolling style as good as the master himself

hell look at ichigo's attack names even. like heaven peircer and stuff like that. he gets horns in his mask and so on.

just another attempt from an artist to twist the religion around and make the seemingly typical demon/devil be the one fighting for good instead of the angel

Honestly I thought we were going to change the name already (at least continue de-evolving it to "Bleh" from "Blech") but people like the Felch so who am I to complain.

Honestly the last chapter I read had this "Aizen guy" claim there is something strange going on in SS to Renji…honestly I wouldn't be surprised if he was tied to it considering he was cut off before finishing up. Oh...and I really hope there are no shota-characters in this so called Gold Saint ripoff they called the Gotei 13...it should be 13 badasses, no shrimpy shota allowed! (oh yeah...that idiot Byakuya...on the other hand, give me more of that fluffy-pillowed Kuukaku...preferably together with that ditzy Orihime)

And that the number of wings don't match up.
And that butterflies are supposedly symbols of life/death in japan or something, and have a history in Bleach as well, Whereas angels and that kind of stuff doesn't to my knowledge.

I'm just dropping by for a quick visit inbetween travelling, in a weeks time summer ends and I can devote more time to analyzing this compelling work of fiction.

Oh wait, in the past month the author has gone on record admitting that he invents stuff on the fly when he "feels like it" an may or may not actually explain it later, and has also resorted to "Haters gonna hate if you dont like it dont read it Id like to se YOU do better you CHILD" argumentation.
Seriously, with that interview declaring that Bleach and sense are in parralel dimensions, and Kubo basically giving us a diasshow of evidence for anyone arguing that Bleachs art is repetitive and bland this week, an anti-Bleach fan like myself should be overjoyed.
But instead, I feel the hate again.

Just imagine people, the next time you are at an anime convention.

There will be people reusing their black shinigami uniform for the Nth time, only with black gloves, long haired orange wigs and chains.
And people dressed all in white, with funky contact lenses, brown hair extensions, and butterfly wings.

They will think they are the pinnacle of coolness.

And the worst part:
Other people might agree with them

It's not very easy to tell. With all the black on Ichigo's uniform, the chain doesn't stand out much and isn't all that distinct. It would be unrecognizable if it weren't for the little breaks down the middle, which makes it impossible to know whether it's attached to his glove or his sword or both. The original page isn't that much better, either.

Though it at least shows some of his hilt. Seriously, this is some bad shading and positioning. I can't even see if Ichigo's shoulder is supposed to be covered there - it's like Kubo decided to use Photoshop and put the layer with Isshin under Ichigo's armless body.

His Zanpakuto still looks like a billy club in the original, by the way.

It's because he used up his energy in helping Ichigo train. However, I believe this is the sort of thing that kills someone. Isshin might be dead for all we know.

It's some series named after the first Nirvana album (before "Nevermind") about some redheaded poser who becomes a death god. Think YYH's spiritual concepts, St. Seiya's structure and DB's flashy fights…only second-rate.

That's a question I don't have an answer for. The last time I checked in on any popularity polls, Isshin was sitting there are #49, and the vote count was laughable. This was before his reappearance with Aizen going over Ichigo's life story however, so it might have changed. Someone with the data will have to clear it up.

The problem with this is that everyone always seems to overestimate the reading material and the readers of that material when it comes to Shonen Jump and other related magazines. For the most part, they're still catered to kids who can't be more than twelve or fourteen. You can't expect them to make well-thought decisions when it comes to a poll found in a weekly or monthly comic book at that age, even more so if we take it as a majority. Especially important is remembering how much emphasis there is on 'action', and I don't necessarily mean 'fighting' like in battle manga. A great part of appeal found in graphic works is that we can see what people are doing and thinking, taking less focus on inquisitive thought during a read. Obviously, a book would need to maintain a sense that something is happening, but a good deal of allure in illustration is the sense of immediacy conveyed by having the elements right in front of you and in your hands.

It doesn't help that getting a job in the industry, especially if you're making a serial, requires a lot of fantastic or out of the ordinary elements. That in mind makes it a given that most people have a predetermined desire to get involved in aforementioned fantasy. Sure, there's Slice of Life, Romantic Comedy and such. More often than not there's still going to be some surrealistic and quirky thought put in. It's all part of High Concept: in the case of Shonen, emphasizing the excitement and thrill aspects by taking, say, Table Tennis and doing something weird like putting it in space. This is how people get hooked, so it shouldn't come as any surprise if popularity polls seem strange or off in the case of certain characters. It's just young boys and girls wanting a fantastic escapist magazine to fill up a part of their daily life; the rest are looked upon with as much scorn as the great neckbeards of Marvel and DC.

It's no Golden Age for Japan or America.
