Should I play Persona 3 on easy then? Is that even an option? I generally don't play games for a challenge, but to experience them. Games are interactive films to me, not stamina testers. That's not to say I've ever played an RPG that was a cake walk, cause I haven't. Does such a thing even exist?
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Atlus games are infamous for being brutally difficult (Devil Survivor was kicking my ass until I stopped being stupid and fused some powerful demons like Astaroth and Amaterasu, and even then it was an uphill climb), so I don't think you have anything to worry about in the difficulty department with those games.
Sold. Sounds like fun.
-
Part of the difficulty lies in that you can't just power-level your way through the game. You have to constantly change what demons (or Personas) you have equipped to fit the situation, since elemental affinities and status effects are what's really going to save your bacon in the beginning stages. Now, I've only played Devil Survivor, so I imagine the Persona games are slightly less complicated in this regard, since in those only the main charcter can equip different Personas. Everyone else is locked into just one (that upgrades once you complete the Social Links, at least).
Still, it feels pretty awesome when you've got illustrious figures such as Metatron, Asura, Loki, and Amaterasu on hand to crush the enemies.

Persona 3 and 4 in a nutshell:
Hey i haven't saved in a few hours but what could go wrong?
"Main character gets hit with instant death spell"
"game over"
"Full rage"
So yeah Buuhan if you don't this to happen play on easy(they give you a item that revives you if your character dies by instant death spells).
If you play on normal this will happen at least once but only if you are lucky. -
Thanks, I'll do that. All this talk makes me want to jump into the game now.
-
Persona 3 and 4 are awesomely awesome but I dunno if I'll get this. Needs some demon breeding.
-
Demon breeding is overrated.
Goat breeding is where it is.
-
Dont forget to spend time on your social links. They may just seem like a litte thing aside from the main story but theyr quite important.
-
Personally I think Persona has an excellent chance of joining the crew.
-
Persona 3 is ok on Normal but it is long so do Easy if you wanna get through it fast(er). Persona 4 is totally easy enough to do on Normal, especially if you control your party.
This is really interesting. Except for another goddamn never ending Tartarus. So it's perhaps a bit like Persona (with the advancing through the dungeon/mystery solving thing) however the dating sim has gone from suggestive/PG-13 to flat out hentai? I'll probably pick it up if it comes out in the US. Its coming out in the US is probably going to hinge on how erotic it is.
-
Personally I think Persona has an excellent chance of joining the crew.
I'm sorry Greg, that is just stupid. it's a much better plan to get Okami for the crew. they can really use the Okami Way powers to their full advantage.

At 4 am after crunching to meet a deadline, this absolutely killed me.

To fap or not to fap?

@bunshindattebayo:
To fap or not to fap?
Big boobed blonde with drill-hair who may, or may not be a demon looking to suck your soul out of your God given human straw.
I'd say fap away.

I'd say fap away.
And Mara is for the girls.
-
I get the feeling that the game is going to have a ''You suck. Stop fantasizing, go outside, and get a life.'' message given that it's the Persona crew and the game's cntent so far. They have their target audience's number.
-
Atlus knows that their target audience hate Twilight.
And greg always comes to a thread and kills other posters with his awesomeness.
-

I've honestly mixed both names up so much so many times…

God, I'm slow…

AGOG after losing his bet to Zephos:
PERONA!!!!!!!!!
-
^ XD
Which one is that? XD I only own Persona 3, which I haven't played yet.
Like Iceborg said, it's name is Mara. IIRC, it's not in P3 but as a special fusion in P3:FES.
Should I play Persona 3 on easy then? Is that even an option? […] Does such a thing even exist?
Persona 3 gives you 10 continues if you pick the easy level iirc but, from what I recall the instruction booklet for FES saying, the Answer is equivalent to the hard mode of the Journey.
-
And there is boobs in those games too so yeah.
Prove it!…I accept proof in the form of PMs as well ^__^

Yeah, with the game being rated B in Japan I can't see how there's tits in it. Maybe monster tits don't count. Also, why is the game M in the US? Lemme guess, they threw in a shit-ton of F-bombs?
-
Refereces to sex, some monster tits, some shits are said(not F-bombs), and the giant dick demon.
And I guess the shooting your head thing.
-
Well, with the exceptions of the shits (tho I'm sure the Japanese have their own curses), that's all still in the B-rated Japanese version. I guess the Japanese are more lax.
A(all ages) equivalent to ESRB's E and E10+ (low end) ratings
B(ages 12 and up) equivalent to ESRB´s E10+ (high end) and T (low end) ratings
C(ages 15 and up) equivalent to ESRB's T (high end) and M (low end) ratings
D(ages 17 and up) equivalent to ESRB's M (high end) rating
Z(ages 18 and up only) equivalent to ESRB's M (AO level) and AO ratingsJapan's rating system is confusing… Can someone explain why inFAMOUS is rated bloody Z?! Japan got a thing with electricusion?
-
I heard the japanese version of Metal Gear Peace Maker had a scene censored because it involved Big Boss being tortured by electricusion.

That's in all the MGS series.

The latest issue of Famitsu 360, a Famitsu spin-off that focuses only on Xbox 360 titles, Atlus shared a few more details on their upcoming HD title, Catherine. Catherine's been in development at Team Persona for two years, according to the interview. The game should last about twenty hours on the first run and will have multiple endings for maximum replayability. Players can choose from multiple difficulties to play, however, whether or not it'll affect the story is unknown.
Unfortunately, when Atlus was asked if they could say anything about an HD Persona title, they denied comment.
Catherine launches this winter on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in Japan.
20 hours is the perfect length for any game. I approve.
-
Difficulties? So its safe to assume this game has fighting?
-
Probably, isn't it an RPG?
-
20 hours>70 hours with the last 15 hours being nothing but grinding through social links.

Well i imagined more something of an horrorlike game when your in these dreams you gotta solve puzzles while avoiding these beasts. I havent heard of an rpg like horror game really.

Since this seems to be a catch-all thread for Atlus, guess I'll leave this here…

Oh..oh dear…but...
-
Ugh, that's not cool. Since the article says that the Atlus brand will still exist, I hope this doesn't affect any of their own projects that much…
-
Oh dear me.
I hope this doesn't affect some games coming out here especially Catherine.
-

There still is hope.
-
Yeah, read that thread linked from the Atlus forum.
It only means that there's some corporate restructuring so that the Japanese parent company (which develops cellphone games) has easier access to Atlus IPs. Nothing more sinister or earth-shattering than that. "Atlus" is fine.
-
And my world is ok again.
-
Oh, gotcha.
What a relief.

Nothing particularly new, but least we see it in motion.

The game's been delayed till February, however we actually got a plot line… one I do not like, at all.
Vincent is an ambitionless salaryman who is dating Katherine (the one with glasses). One evening he meets Catherine and they hit it off, ultimately concluding with a one night stand. After this Vincent begins to have horrific nightmares which involves sheep and monsters.
As I mentioned, I hate that storyline, tho that can change depending on how they can handle it. I hate people who cheat, and as such I'm not thrilled to be playing Vincent as a main character, but least the story so far makes it seems he's going to pay the price for it in the end. Or maybe, with this being Japan after all, the women will ultimately be portrayed as the true evils.
