I don't know about you guys, but to me the head bounty on the main characters made a huge difference in the show. I can't imagine watching One Piece if there were no bounties on anyone. It's the fact that their bounties keep going up that made the show really, really interesting. The bounty is symbolical in that it shows how far the characters have grown as pirates. Try imagining One Piece without Luffy and Zoro having any bounties. The show would be totally plain because the characters wouldn't have any value! To be honest, every time I watch One Piece, I look forward to seeing the main character's bounty go up, and each episode plays a role in making it happen. As Luffy's bounty goes up, it's a step closer for him to become the King of Pirates. That's pretty much the only reason why I find One Piece so interesting. What do you guys think?
Why do you guys watch/read One Piece? Here's my reason!

For me, my father was always hardcore on traveling across the seas. He's been everywhere in every type of ship. He always brought me to the harbor and I've been in boats a ton, and I was bound to like the ocean too.
He also gave me a solid gold anchor necklace when I was a kid that used to be his.I guess One Piece just hits that spot that wishes for adventure on the water.

Wow…One Piece must have hit you pretty hard when you first saw it, huh? I actually like going out to the pier to stare at sailboats and the sea after first learning about One Piece. It's so relaxing!

when i was half a year old, my mother dropped me in a breadbox and kicked me off shore. While I know the real intention, i still remember paddling to the nearest sandbar and setting up camp. I overturned this box and began using it as a dwelling, feeding on hermit crabs that were brave enough to come near.
Three years later, I was discovered by a fishing boat.
Ever since then, I had a soft spot for the open sea.

For me One Piece is the first manga/anime I really loved. The concept of going on an adventure with your friends to accomplish your dreams mixed with comedy, drama and action that actually make me love the story.

mxh91….the only reason why you watch/read One Piece.....is because of the bounties?
....For me....it's because it's a fun adventure story with a well-detailed plot. Oda strings information together so cohesively. I'm always eager for the next chapter to come.

I don't know if that is a sad thing, but yes. That's why I watch One Piece. The bounties gave me something to look forward to.

I used to read One Piece because it caught my eye and was a good read. Now that I know the truth about Oda, I read it to see how he puts the difficulties of his life into his art, his craft.

I like it because it's one of the few stories that are able to invoke emotions and has a story that pulls you in. Also the designs of the Arcs and the imagination behind a lot of the islands and enviornments are really cool.
Most other things are bland and themed IMMA KILL YOU, NOPE NOT IF I KILL YOU, ALRIGHT THEN ILL KILL YOU BEFORE YOU KILL ME
OI IM GONNA KILL BOTH OF YOU THEN BLOWS UP THE WORLD
Plus the Marines being an anti-hero and immoral pushing a world government on people and acting occasionally worse than the pirates is an interesting spin on things.

APforums, educating people about the beautiful life of Oda one person at a time.
Anyways, I got into One Piece because I just love adventure stories. That and all of the emotions that it can give. The interactions between the crew is great and their chemistry is….well...great. And it's awesome how Oda seems to never forget a single character in his 13 year old series. There's more reasons but it would just involve me dragging on so I'll leave it at this.

I got hooked on one piece since chapter one, I still can't figure out what's Luffy's f*cking goal. It's to complicated of a story only reason I keep reading it.
Naw in all seriousness what got me was when Luffy first called his hat his treasure. Because I had the impression it was a pirate story and they was just going to be shown as greedy mofo's aiming for gold and what not.
But that scene told me this was going to be a good story.
And look how things turn out.
