I've been waiting for a One Piece game to PS3 for like ever ;_;

I still don't understand why One Piece is the best selling manga in all of japan, and one of the top animes and it hasn't released a single game for any of the HD home consoles of this generation. Well…the anime makes a lot of money, but for some reason the anime doesn't even get good budget, so perhaps the only item of quality we might actually receive from One Piece is the manga alone, while everything else is just crap to make money for the capitalists pockets. One Piece only seems to receive love from its manga, while it doesn't receive love from the people who make everything else.

One Piece has a shit ton of merchandise, clothing, movies, etc.
They had a lot of One Piece games for the PS2, most of which weren't released in the US.
The only game coming out soon is Gigant Battle for the DS.
I hope we get a PS3 game after this one. -

That'd require a shitload of money, time, and effort, if anything it's most likely gonna be a low-to-mid budget fighting game. I srsly doubt it's going to be a real-time RPG other than a few elements thrown here and there. -

Actually there are 2 Naruto exclusive games for the 360. I doubt they'd do the same for One Piece though but who knows.

You solve puzzles, beat up grunts, and explore different islands and along the way when you meet really good fighters you beat them up fighter style.
Kind of like those shitty Wii games, but not shitty.

The Unlimited series aren't bad…heck, it got better reviews than the Grand Battle games, and I agree with those reviews. The way One Piece was presented on the Grand Battle games were most chibi-like and didn't represent the artistic way the actual anime/manga is presented, while the Unlimited series were presented just like that. Also, One Piece fits on adventure games far more than fighting games. One Piece does not belong in the fighting genre in the series itself, and neither in games. It is still a great way to bring great fanservice when it comes to choosing a gigantic amount of characters and duke em out on fights, but a true inspired One Piece game should be released as an adventure game than a fighting one.

That's just what these anime games are, though: pure unadulterated fanservice mixed in with some average fighting gameplay mechanics.. Anime games have never been AMAZING, well maybe a few, but they're usually for the fanservice only.
I still think they should make a Grand Battle HD, but that's just me.

I liked Unlimited Cruise 1 & 2 more than Grand Battle. Mainly because it actually captured the spirit of One Piece in that it's an adventure. Not just fighting over and over.
I also get bored of fighting games that aren't online and I can't get my friends to play because they don't understand it.
I just think Unlimited was kinda brought down by the collecting stuff over and over to proceed.

Grand Battle was extremely simple and a pick up and play game.. Which is part of why I liked it, I was always horrible at fighting games, especially the Street Fighter kind..
But if there was a Grand Battle HD with online, that'd be fucking sweet. Too bad that a Mario game coming out for the PC has a higher chance than this one..

I cant help you out with the online part but you can play Grand Battle in HD on your pc with the dolphin emulator. The games runs at fullspeed in 1080 pi on my laptop so I guess a fair amount of people could play it.
As for Unlimited Adventure I got it to run but my CPU isnt fast enough to emulate it at full speed. Its to bad because the games actually looks very nice at higher resolutions. Full speed is probably very possible but none of the developers for dolphin seem to care a lot about the One Piece games. :getlost:
Anyway if anyone wants to see some One Piece game HD screenshots just give me a shout and I will post them when I get the time.

Bandai makes far more money on the Wii doing One Piece games than it does on the PS3, the market of fans who like One Piece and own a PS3 is far inferior to the market of fans who like One Piece and own a Wii.

And I just watched the Naruto UNS2 gameplay…. OMFG... Cyber connect 2... why won't you even care a little for One Piece?
Anything even remotely of that kind of art style and fighting quality would absolutely blow me away...
Support characters, Items (maybe even den den mushi to call a buster call etc), i could think of a number of stages, and we've already got some awesome music which they've used in the animation and movies...
/cry... I sincerely hope they're making something, but won't release details until close to xmas...
