is this even worth disccusing ?
we know basicly nothing of neither the whitebeard clan or the redhairs real fighting strength just that they both are at the top of the food chain. -
I voted tie by accident, though my true vote is with Shanks and Yassop!

Red Hair, simply because we've seen more of them so far, so we have more cool people on the Red Hair's side.. so far, anyway.
Because the only two prominent crew members of Whitebeard we know of so far are Whitebeard himself and Ace.

Anyone think that Blackbeard might have some other connection to whitebeard?
Perhaps he is his son?

That would be able to be a possibility, but Blackbeard shares the middle initial D, so it is more likely he is related to Luffy. That's not to say he has no connection though, I mean, he was part of Whitebeard's second division originally.

If he is his son he might have inheireted his mothers name.
I think there is a connection because of the similarity of their names

lots of people voted for redhair simply because they liked shanks and knew more about them…but in reality i think whitebeard would win becuz theyve been compared to gold rogers crew and called equal whereas shanks crew we dont know much about their fighting ability

see this is an interesting one if you look into it.
we know that Newgate is a beast, and we know that Ace is also, then we also know that they had people at the level of Blackbeard on the crew also along with his crew who are quite strong, i reckon all of them are +100k bounties.
But all we know of Shanks is that Yasopp is probably the best sharpshooter to sit on this earth and that's it.
I have a greater affiliation to the Redhairs though.

[snapback]95770[/snapback]well actually Newgate was said to be equal to Gol D. but let's face it, if his crew was as good i'm sure he would've been to Skypea or even have found One Piece by now, i think outside the 'officer' ranks the crews pretty shit and that's why Newgate isn't in a rush to do anything, despite Ace being in a rush to make him the pirate king.
basically i think the collective power of the redhairs will be >= whitebeards but not <

but don't you think it's a bit like what Bellemy said that alot of pirates try and get by on reputation, i wonder about Newgate's ability given his medical condition.
