Me and the Wifey watch AGT all the time. We are fans of the Prince although I am not sure he is going to win.
The opera singers do get quite far in AGT though.

I can't lie, I did used to watch Britain's Got Talent. But I don't like it that much, anymore.

And believe or not she got on semi-final/final. And last year where some amazing people did amazing perfomances, the judges didn't let them even pass through the first phase. That's why I don't watch the Brazilian version anymore.

I think it's when you see some useless looking idiot come on stage, and then he turns round and belts out some glorious operatic composition. Bit like Susan Boyle. Infact on Britain's got Talent, the very same thing happened.
Paul Potts - who worked int he Carphone Warehouse, by day, came on and was a really skilled opera singer.
However, your point is damn right, because it's just been anounced the other day that he's been dropped from his label.
Honestly the Paul Potts variety of opera sounds kinda diffrent from the Pavarotti stuff.
Maybe it's cause it's the diet version, and is a lot easier to swallow for the untrained ears of the audience.
Thought that's just a guess, all i know is that i love Paul Potts.

BECAUSE no one gives a flip about Opera, its extra exciting or interesting to suddenly get a 2 minute taste of it out of nowhere. Plus it makes the performer instantly seem classy and educated since they can sing in a foreign language.
Plus, if they are any good, they tend to be really good to be able to do it at all.

Nobody is gonna go there to watch a kid who stepped off a elementary school musical. Don't get me wrong. She is a very talented singer and everything. But her act should be on a different stage than a Vegas one.

Really of all the top 4 Michal Grimm was far the worst and it surprised me when he even made the finals. Dunno how the hell he won. That seems to happen with finales though, people sometimes choose the most watered-down unoriginal thing for some reason…
