Mr.1 is a one of the character more badass in OP. The Supa-Supa no mi is one the better DFs in OP. Also he's a partner of other badass, Crocodile-sama.On the other hand, has been mentioned a lot, but you remember that he looks like Vin Diesel in anime/manga version. It reminds me to "Ridick" (character from The Crhonicles of Ridick): He's mercenary, determined and a strong man… like Daz Bones.

I want one person from the pro Mr. 1 side to describe him without using his role in the story, relation to Croc (technically part of the first stipulation, but needs specific mention), dream (this is meaningless without reasoning given by personality, also fall under the first stipulation, but needs specific mention), or devil fruit power. Also, don't just say he's badass, tell me why his character makes him badass aside from the above superficial things.

Badassery can be superficial, like Mr. 1 and his lack of character.
To the bold: any other villain would have tried to kill Zoro in a fight sans Mihawk or another character with a personality-related reason not to, they were fighting so going for the throat is generally the villainous route to go. It shows less personality on Mr. 1's part that he took the usual way. All it shows was he was a villain fighting a hero.
Enjoying the taste of blood? How do you know for one thing? Why is this reflective of one's personality for another? You can like the taste of anything and it doesn't mean diddly squat about who you are.
Easily irritated by a cool character? Ok, maybe this shows he's too serious, but in my book, unless that's abused comically ala Steiner from FFIX, being too serious is bad.
Extreme loyalty? Do you call every underling that doesn't betray someone extremely loyal? Croc busted him out of jail to have another minion. That's it. Where's the indication that he would have given a shit about following Luffy had Luffy broken him out? It was escape, and part of his bland unspoken contract with the sandy badass was to be his minion afterward. Thus he is. He's just a one dimensional minion. He's shown no great attachment to Croc outside of something akin to an employer. That's bland, flat and boring minion-style relationship, which I said not to bring up for this reason.
And I said we don't know why he wants to be a hero. Does it tell us something? Yeah, trivia that doesn't add depth of character. What drives him to be a hero? Do we know for sure it's for good reasons? Could it be personal? Could it be for bad reasons? It's just a flat meaningless statement until we know why. Oda could say "Robin wants to find the True History", but without her backstory that doesn't have meaning. She could want it to tell the Revolutionaries, for her own reasons, to sell the information to shady people, etc. A dream statement/panel like Mr. 1's tells us nothing about his character.

mr.1 seems to follow croc to the t, without any reason or will of his own. why be a pirate if your gona be a slave to another pirate. and even before he was a pirate, he was a mercenary, wtf type of charichter is that, untill i get a good explanation to why his nose is brown from croc, he is one of the lamest charicters in the series. yeah his fight with zoro was cool, but zoro may as well have fought a street lamp…..
my vote goes to magellan tho i think its lame that his DF power is so strong....

I like both characters, but I gotta go with Magellan for this one because I think he's one of the best villains One Piece has introduced in recent years.
The guy is badass and has cool poison powers, sure, but he's also oddly easy to sympathize with despite his status as an enemy of Luffy. The guy works for the thoroughly evil World Government, to be sure, but it's not like he has time to go around kicking puppies for the Tenryuubito or anything. He's a busy man, running Impel Down and all.
Sure, he keeps some decent people like Ace and Jinbei in his awesome superjail, to be sure, but other than that the guy actually does the world something of a service by keeping most of the real nutcases locked away from the wider world (at least until Luffy and Blackbeard rolled through).
He's respectful and professional to his staff, keeps his cool in even the most dire of circumstances, and for the most part avoids unnecessary sadism. Would that all high-ranking correctional administrators could be so upright.
And make no mistake, Mags doesn't take shit from ANYBODY. Straw Hat Luffy? Poisoned that little fucker. (Although apparently he got better and showed up later with an army of transvestites.) Legions of dangerous criminals out of their cells? Nothing a little poison can't cure. Marshall D. "Blackbeard" Teach? Mags was having NONE of that shit, and BB and his posse took a long, painful ride on the Venom Road. (Although apparently HE got better, too. And with a half-dozen superpowered freaks from supermax instead of a legion of deviants. This was NOT a good day for poor Magellan.)
