One Manga closing

I am not sure if this has been posted(didn't see it in the search, or any recent threads), or if this would be better in the general section(manga related news in the manga section?). I just went to One Manga about one minute ago, and a pop up came up saying they were closing down. I know most people were expecting this from what is going on with the publishers. I figured I would pass this along. Again I don't know if this is old news or new news, this is the first time I got the pop up saying this.

Now is the time to be posting links to other manga sites that provide most if not all of the manga series that OM had.

i just got it too, oh well, im not surprised, but if they're going to do this, then they should close down mangastream and all the other streaming websites as well to be fair. Sure people won't be able to get their One Piece fix, but maybe some legal alternative can be had from this debacle. Maybe we'll have a discussion about this on the podcast or something…stay tuned!!

I'm not sure if this should go here, but I feel it should because this is a major incident and pretty hefty blow to us manga readers online. I regret to inform you that Onemanga.com is shutting down, thought this applies ONLY to the manga reader. OneManga Forums itself and the new future of OM is still to be determined. All Manga's on that site will be removed. I know the forums will be intact and usable, but this is without a doubt a crushing blow to the community after MangaHut was shut down and the Crisis at Mangafox. There are a lot of magas that I read there (The World God Only Knows, Highschool of the Dead, Medaka Box, Chnage 123, Black Lagoon, etc.) and I don't really know where I'll find them now…......

I'm Speechless..........

That's definitely been licensed by VIZ Media. I think they're up to volume 3 right now.

That was my home for the past year or so, 'came back every week to read the latest One Piece, and Naruto. (to a lesser extent) And I really got into a couple other series as well, such as No Bra, Umi no Misaki, gundam Sousei, cactus Secret, Mysterious Girlfriend X, Zippy Ziggy, ect.

This is a low blow. =( So low in fact, well, they might as well be stomping on my toes.

Yeah, I remember reading something like 20 big name sites I believe. I am pretty sure that for everyone they shut down another will probably pop up though.

I honestly don't get how they were up for that long.

There were some annoying things about OM but it was an undeniably useful site. I'll miss it but there will always be alternatives.

The only bad thing is all those obscure series that I read that only get updated every once in a while, I'll never remember their names. I guess I have to go browse through the winny club more often then. =(

The OM forum used to be like a third home (uni, and my real home aside!) for me for awhile (like almost a month…...>.>)

There is probably mass of people slowing that site down, because I can't even access the forums now.

onemanga wasnt forced to take down their site. they were not sued or issued a cease and desist letter. they are taking it down cuz they don't want to disobey the manga publishers. easiest way to fix this is to issue a monthly/yearly fee to access an extensive manga website and the revenue would be shared with the publishers.

No but I was worried about it all the time… that maybe some day most of the sited will close down^^

As much as I hated that OneManga translations it is one of the very rare sites where you have all chapters from the very beginning... And if I looked for an old chapter than alwaays there.

I hope someone will right click and save all the chapters and zip them in a one big ass data and than publish it for download... in that way the files won't be lost forever.

Maybe we should make an alliance for that... My idea for everyone who would help out...

Let us say we have 20 people who would help and we are currently near 600 chapters... That would be 30 chapters for each one... Including the color spreads...

We should make a list which chapters everyone will save and than at the end put all together^^

e g.

Me: Chapter 1 - 30
X: 31 - 60
Y: 61 - 90

and so on^^

The whole damn fan coloring at OneManga shouldn't be included. Only the relevant chapter pages^^

Truth101, How Do I save All of The Manga That I like before it's taken down? Do I have to right click "save image as" For every page of every chapter of every manga that I like?

Hi, my country doesnt have this manga, and if it does its not on the last update, i want to see chapter after chapter when they are released not after 3 years.

Imo they should go with Veoh style and ban countries like USA :E

Meh. One Manga is a pretty crap website in all reality people. It's poor quality, has a horrible layout and updates are slower than Mangastream. I prefer quality to quantity.
