Vivi to "Rejoin" the Straw Hats?

Okay so I use rejoin in quotations because she really is one already.

The thing is, this chapter we saw all the Straw Hats and some others like Croc and Vivi responding to news of something Luffy did.

Now, this is 3 weeks after the war….likely after Luffy and Rayleigh met. Luffy had wanted to go see his crew right away, but Rayleigh warned him that reuniting now means repeating the same thing all over again. Of course without Roger's first mate there to guard him and an undercover revolutionary there to save them, next time it would mean their death.

I think whatever Luffy did was meant to send a message to his crew to sit tight, and take their time reuniting...get stronger first. The others will train and take advantage of the islands they're on to get stronger and after time passes (maybe a year or two...no more than three though), they will reunite.

One thing to consider is the change of the war and the increasing focus on the theme of freedom and oppression by nobles, celestial dragons, etc.

This brings up the subject of Nefertari Vivi. She stayed behind in Alabasta for the sake of her country. However, she also left Alabasta once before for the sake of her country. She left to stop Crocodile's plans.

Alabasta is under the control of the World Government and increasingly at the risk of attack by Pirates with the rising tide of unrest due to the death of Whitebeard and Ace at Marineford.

So what if protecting Alabasta once again meant leaving?

If Luffy's message also included the idea of where to meet...Vivi also read that message. What if Vivi and Karoo also make their way to this location to rejoin the crew, leaving behind Alabasta for a few years to save Alabasta, the same way she did before. Just as Crocus became a pirate for 3 years, so too may the Desert Princess Vivi.

After all, she is a Straw Hat, so she may understand Luffy's message as well as the others.

This is of course all speculation, but the way it was said she read the paper and thought about it and then returned to her room...what if Vivi used this time to train and get stronger as well? Then upon reuniting, she too might be strong enough to fight alongside the others.

Her dream? Easy, freeing Alabasta and protecting her kingdom!

I think your thinking about whatever Luffy did is very interesting, and makes a lot of sense, but I got the very strong feeling that the boat that was Vivi's chance to join more or less sailed the day the SHs left. I can't see anything in her situation that has changed in a compelling enough way to support that choice for her, no matter what has happened to Luffy and the rest of the world. Her country needed her to be there to remain strong before, and with the world now in chaos as it is, they still do–maybe more than ever.

Well it would help if the Celestial Dragons / Nobles had some influence over Alabasta the same way they influenced Sabaody or the Goa Kingdom.

Joining someone who will be able to fight for her kingdom's freedom would be better than doing nothing. I mean, in any case, even if she doesn't ever again sail with the Straw Hats, I'm sure she'll join up with them to fight the World Government towards the end of the story. But she did ask that if they ever meet again they might be shipmates. It could be meaningless, but I wouldn't necessarily take this so lightly.

Alabasta IS under World Government control. It is possible that as the days grow darker, the World Government will begin wielding more authoritative control over the countries it reigns over. If this is the case, it may take breaking WG control or in Vivis' case becoming a Pirate again to save her country.

The WG may be trying to combat the great increase in piracy brought about by Whitebeard's final words, Blackbeard's rise to prominence, as well as the continued growth of the Revolutionary army threatening to overturn their control in many countries throughout the world.

We can also consider the possibility of Dragon someday paying Alabasta a visit…and somehow I don't think the World Government would take too kindly to a kingdom's secession.

Actually there would be no need to become a pirate again to save her country, rather they would just revolt and overthrow the WG in their own country as the royal family.

I doubt that the world goverment top even has the military force in it's own pocket to weild that kind of absuive power over the 100+ monarchs who have their own armies, countries full of supplies and able fortifications.

If anything they're dependent on their support to even exist in any worth while capacity following the war. Basicly they'd be sending their own forces against their own future reserves which is yeah kinda dumb:ninja:

No, I am fully aware this may have been done for the same exact reason she was shown after Enies Lobby. She is an honorary Straw Hat and will probably play a role in a big final showdown with the World Government…plus Oda never forgets any characters, let alone those important to the Straw Hats.

I did always wonder though if the opportunity or situation might arise in which Vivi would rejoin the Straw Hats.

The obvious things that would seemingly prevent that were

1. She's too weak

2. How would she make it to the Straw Hats' current location?

3. For what purpose would she ever leave Alabasta?

I simply saw the POSSIBILITY that this three obstacles might all be overcome.

1 - If there is a time skip, she would be able to get stronger like the others. We have no idea how she might fight. It might be something more tactical like Nami or Usopp that would allow her to get strong enough to join them.

2 - Again, this is speculation...that somehow Luffy is imparting to his crew a location to meet. As someone who knows Luffy very well, she too might understand this.

3 - She stayed for the sake of Alabasta, so she would also have to leave for the sake of Alabasta. The same as the WG had a negative influence on the Goa Kingdom or Sabaody, I simply feel that Alabasta may also face this. The problem with Vivi rejoining is that she can't actually do anything..

lets look at the weaker characters on the ship.
-Usopp, works as the sniper and also provides comic relief.
-Nami, works as the navigator and also provides fan service.
-Chopper, works as the doctor and also provides comic relief and mascot ability.

Although these characters are weaker than the rest they still provide other elements essential to both the fictional ship and the success of the manga.
Vivi seems to have a lot of fans but she is still a weak character and she doesn't bring any new abilities or features to the crew.

On top of which consider what it took the SH to get to Sabaody, how the hell is Vivi going to make it there?

a poneglyph is protectet in the alabasta real tomb, the king knew his existance and what is write on...
