Lego Universe takes place in an alternate universe populated by Lego minifigures. Many years ago, a team of minifigures went off to seek the last essence of pure imagination. Once they found it, Baron Typhonus used the imagination to create a giant chaotic spider to demonstrate the power of imagination. The spider took him into the source of pure imagination and created a dark force known as the Maelstrom. This being of dark imagination is able to turn otherwise innocent minifigures and creatures into Stromlings.
After the creation of the Maelstrom, the remaining explorers formed the Nexus Force, an organization devoted to the protection of the remaining imagination. After the formation, however, the leaders were unable to agree on the best method of defeating the Maelstrom. Thus, the Nexus Force was divided into three Factions, each with a unique speciality: building (the Assembly), battling (the Sentinels) and exploring (the Venture League). The three explorers then recruited the Baron's former assistant, Vanda Darkflame, to lead a fourth Faction: the Paradox, devoted to Maelstrom research.
Once the Nexus Force was established, a headquarters was required to organize the many minifigs coming to help. Doc Overbuild oversaw the construction of the Nexus Tower, the base of the Nexus Force. The tower had two other purposes: to protect the last piece of pure imagination, and serve as a beacon of unity and hope for the future of imagination.
Now, great plans are in place to push back the power of the Maelstrom, and restore harmony to the universe.[10] Players will join together to help the people of the Lego Universe battle the Maelstrom and its Stromling army."

Found out about this awhile back was waiting to see if anyone else would make a thread since i dont like too. Anyways looks like a fun game i'll probably pay 1 month then see if it's worth paying for either a 6 or 12 month deal. Anyone else plan on giving it a try. There are vids on youtube about pve, building, and racing.

The only downside I'm seeing right now is that it's bound to have a bunch of 10-or-less year-olds playing online, which is fine for everybody else that's older UNTIL someone gives them a mic…

Yea the aim is little kids so it wont be a surprise when 80% of the community is 8-12 year olds.

You've corrected me yet again. Just this morning I was playing Red Dead Redemption online when a ten year old kept repeating "What are you lookin'-aaaat?" as if quoted from a movie or something, over and over again.

Although… It did help make it more satisfying everytime I blasted the shotgun at his face.:happy:

So maybe this game won't be so bad.

OK guys i just received the game in the mail. And inside is a letter. Instead of the servers opening on october 12 for those who pre-order it opens on the 8th. So im' installing the game now. I'll be back here to post some one the hands on experience.

I forgot to post in here. I did the beta test for Lego Universe. It was pretty fun for me since I am a lego fan, but the thing is that it sometimes gets tiresome from running around and jumping a lot, but then again, it has good exploration value.

Can you build aaaaaaaaaaaaanything? Or is it like Indy, Star Wars etc where it says you can build stuff but it's only a limited amount of stuff.

I know they've already banned phallic stuff so I'm presuming yes.

Yes you can, but some parts don't come cheap. You can get parts from enemies, but sometimes you get the same thing over and over again. There are zones where you build specific things like a rocket.

Hmm not much to say about it aside it plays like a console game more than i thought it would. But i also like that about it since in some mmos it sucks not being able to do anything because you need a party and cant find one. In this game everyone is always considered a party since any action you make like with a ninja mask strike the tiger pose, everyone around you strikes that pose and regains imagination. I'm almost done with all the missions in the game, leaving only achievements to complete. Its fun but seeing how short it is right now. Not sure if it's worth paying for another month or more. As for building yes you can build anything as long as it isnt something inappropriate. But getting the pieces you need can take awhile. Something to keep in mind kill everything you come across and break every breakable object. So even if you dont get a piece you get money to buy it.
