High School of the Dead seems pretty dark, no?
How about Higurashi no Naku Koro ni ? The english dub title is "When They Cry", if you happen to prefer dubs. But the title actually translates to "When Cicadas Cry", so you may find it under that name in other parts of the internet.

whats the storyline -
It's about a town of kids that kill each other and stuff. And it's a mystery. I don't know that much about it, since I haven't really watched it…yet, I've just read about it.
It's pretty gory, though, if you don't like that stuff.
