I used to be pretty big in Pokemon when I was thirteen, but after the Indigo League the series quality tapered off pretty quickly. It got unbearable about halfway through Johto - when I was watching Whitney battle with her Miltanks, I thought to myself "why am I watching this? It sucks!" and stopped.

Reminds me, I need to head off to BMG.

There was also an episode where Meowth sucked ones tits.

I only watch the anime only when there's gym leader battles (or legendary Pokemon)

You're kinda missing out on some good episodes if you only do that, especially since some Ledgendary Pokemon episodes sucked (the Groudon/Kyogre 2-parter).

But for Pokemon, the good thing is you can just watch the good episodes and not miss anything you can't learn in one trip to Wikipedia.

I really liked the recent Spiritomb episode, reminded me of the Claydol episode (which goes next to Whiscash as my favorite).

I'm mad Ash had his pokemon all handed to him this season. Just so he could have a balanced team. Aipom was the biggest waste of a spot. And Ash getting that kid's Chimchar was just as retarded.

I think the anime people are running out of ideas, but I'll always <3 the games.

Actually I do watch some episodes that aren't that fillerish (unless of course I don't have anything else to watch, and the episode is one of those less important episodes).

I sometimes go on tv.com and see whats better to watch and whats not (never mind about Spiritomb, its 55, in eng though, but that would take a while)

My favorite episodes are the ones centered around Team Rocket or Jigglypuff. I started to don't care about Ash and company after Pikachu defeated Dragonite, wich is still my favorite fight in the series.

Anyway, the recent 3-part Tag Battle is pretty neat, and somewhat violent for Pokemon standards…my favorite part is probably the end battle where Buizel gives off one badass smile as he and Heracross go down. And the Zangoose is wicked.

I just wish they would have done an anime based off the actual manga. The "Ghost Tower" stuff going on in Lavender town was more awesome with Gasthly controlling copses of pokemon than the thing of Ash looking for a Ghost Clown.

If only Jesse and James could be absolutely defeated and Ash evolved his damn Pikachu.

I know those two things would destroy the premise of the cartoon, but I can dream!

Seriously though, who would not let their Pokemon evolve? If I had a Pikachu, I would evolve to a Raichu as soon as I could… after it's learned all of it's moves as a Pikachu of course.

There's not an official Manga like for Bleach, One Piece, Naruto…but rather quite a few so the Anime going it's own path isn't that big a deal.

Special is the most well known in America, but I've heard the most popular one is this crude Clefairy Manga called Pocket Monsters that was one of the early ones.

The Ono Mangas, which were loosely based on the Anime, were my favorite. Special is pretty dull, imo, and not worth importing them (since like no scans exist).

I've only read up to where Red's Pikachu shows up in Oak's lab all fucked up. I think it's pretty good, though it could be better.

I think I remember the Ono manga. I only have one volume of it but I remember it being awesome. (Ash's Charizard VS Richie's was ten thousand times better than what the show did) The fan service was pretty hilarious too. I think it was edited for the english release, but yeah.

Eh, Pokemon is generally pretty easy to understand watching raw. Subs would be nice, though.

I remember watching one DP episode where 80% of Jesse (Jessie, I can't for the life of me remember how I'm supposed to spell it) lines were in engrish. That episode was awesome.

I actually always thought the opposite. I was much more interested in Adventures/Special. I guess that's because I wasn't that big on the anime at that point, so I wanted something a bit different from the Ono manga, which used the anime characters. It had nice art, but I was looking for something different from the anime I guess. And Adventures/Special seemed more like the games to me back then, which I thought was neat.

Of course, this was a few years back. Who knows what I would think now. But, yeah, I'm not going to import all of the Singapore volumes of Adventures/Special or anything.

Are you freaking insane? Do you know how powerful Pikachu would be if it ever evolved?! And Ash was all for his Pokemon evolving, Pikachu didn't want to evolve because he wanted to be great and prove he could do just as much without evolving. In fact he slapped the thunder stone out of Ash's hand. (See the battle with Lt. Surge episodes) and even Bulbasaur refused to evolve.

Plus if Pokemon actually existed it would be a lot different than just playing the game. You actually would have to take care of it, and the bigger it gets the more it will probably want to eat, cleaning would be harder, personality changes (See Charmander to Charmelion[SP?]).

the pokemon Mangas are getting better than the pokemon ones I read(where the character was named Red instead of Ash)
this one I am reading is Pokemon Mystery Dungeon:Ginjis Rescue team.
When was in in Nintendo magazine because thats what it says on the back on the volume?

I catch Pokemon some times in the morning when I eat my breakfast. It's on at 7:30am here and is funny as all hell. Brings back nostalgia watching and no matter how stupid the series has become I still have a soft spot for it.

I too stopped watching some time in Johto. I just couldn't stand the repeated formula they used.

My favorite episode was 'The Wayward Wobbuffet'. The one where wobbuffet has a key with him and Team Rocket and Ash are after him for the whole episode.

Two weeks ago I watched the 10th movie in Japanese.

Pretty good in terms of animation. I thought the scenario could have been a bit better. It was kind of like the 2nd and the one with Deyoxis(SP?) (Was that the 7th or 6th?)

! They should have let Darkrai die too.

I also loved the battles in the very beginning of the movie, and that one scene where Brock's frog thing grabs that blast from Dialga(SP?).

I sat around yesterday and watched Pokemon for ten hours straight, including the tenth movie dubbed. It was pretty good in terms of fights and whatnot, but none of the movies ever managed to have a plot as good as the first two.

I saw the new movie on Sunday. It was okay. It could have been better, though. But I can't pinpoint why.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon special continue as a series. Even if it's just 26-52 episodes.

EDIT: Sure, that would spoil some plot twists in the game, but…

I've only seen the first 5 movies. Don't think Australia ever got any more after that.

Yeah, I saw a bit of 10. The only thing I saw that I liked was the drill like penguin attack and the Croagunk(That blue frog) punching the blast coming at him. In fact, I think I'd watch every episode of Pokemon ever just to see that frog beat the shit out of stuff with that jab. Oh, and I couldn't give a crap about the plot of the pokemon movies.

I found a scanlation website that have done the first 16 volumes. I'm sure I'm I'm aloud to post it here. So let me know if I have to edit this post.

anyone else think after Ash becomes pokemon master they should make a new series. A new one. With Red as the main character. It can take place like Red and Blue(fireRed,LeafGreen) with Green traveling with Red. This can be like the games,mabye they can have the pokemon say there real sounds,instead of saying tis danm name over and over again.

I finally got around to watch the 10th movie subbed that was lurking on my computer for a while (Since I'm not sure they showed it in Canada and if they did I missed it because I really don't watch tv much).

Not bad movie but really I grew sick of Dialga and Palkia before the second half of the movie. Is there some rule that makes every legendary that isn't a cute adorable thing some sort of douchebag the minute they see that other legendary that is available only on the other game? I didn't find it funny with Groudon/Kyogre and I don't find it fun with Palkia/Dialga either.

Also Pokemon ranks in first place in the "wft is that hairstyle?" department. I spent the movie wondering if the girl was some Lopunny hybrid and the geeky guy a Hoothoot ginjika.

All in all, I liked the movie and I know for sure that I have more respect for Croagunks now, I want one!
