Yeah. Where is Hachi and Keimi?
Maybe they're in the Sunny?
Last Two Nakamates (vol. 5)
-
-
i see that nobody backed up the Shirahoshi-for-Next-nakama with the Ancient prediction of the Legendary mermaid (shirahoshi) and the man who will guide her (Luffy) Just before the world Change (the Last war).
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Yeah. Where is Hachi and Keimi?
Maybe they're in the Sunny?and Den…......
-
Yeah, the new coating has been bothering me. Rayleigh couldn't do it in less than 3 days. Den needed less than 3 hours.
The reason why they call him Den (Lightning/Electricity) I suppose. His entire design looks rather electric (pardon the pun), and he's fast with what he does. Rayleigh's gotten old.
No I am not support Den for nakamate for anyone who wants to be a smartass -
Most importantly, is this the end of the Hachi era in this thread?
Possibly - let me see what he contributes to the fight this whole arc has kind of been a weird ride, stuff is happening too fast and being skipped like there is no tomorrow which is great to see the ending but is also throwing the balance off a bit.
I'm not going to blindly ignore how perfect the match up was with them all in their "Bring it on" stance - Jinbei seems to fit there like he is meant to, but for me to concede I hope people can respect me enough to understand I'll wait and see what Oda's intentions are for Hatchan before making my call there. -
This cover proves that Megalo will join as new crewmate and replace Sanji in the monster trio - you heard it here first. :ninja:
-
That Jinbe did work out a plan with the SHs and that they`re now fighting side by side was for me the biggest new hint this chapter provided for him.
(well, beside Shirahoshis boobs, which are still a massive hint) -
That last panel is totally a "So joining" moment.
Yes, it is.
While I don't feel the hype of Jinbe joining, that panel speaks a lot towards it.
-
After seeing the last spread, I'm kinda wanting Oda to throw a curve ball and have both Jinbe and Shirahoshi join.
That's what I call a win-win. -
Well it seems that everyone has more or less agreed that Jinbei is joining,I was going to write a little theory I had thought of but it would prove pointless now, so I will have to go with Cymelion and wait.I agree that from the latest panel his chances have increased exponentially, kind of when the showed Robin in the opening song before the end of the arc and we didn't(at least those who hadn't read the Manga)know she would join.
-
During the CP9 arc didn't the VS color spread come out long before Franky joined with him in it? What did folks think about that and what if Oda draws another "Mugiwara Pirates VS New Fishman Pirates" with Jimbe in the bunch?
-
I think Jinbe joins - last page chapter 633
-
After seeing the last spread, I'm kinda wanting Oda to throw a curve ball and have both Jinbe and Shirahoshi join.
That's what I call a win-win.I agree they actually all looked really good together in the spread, who knows what will happen but that was one sweet page!!
I hope someone is colouring it as we write (if not finished already)
-
Shirahoshi's ability to look past hatred is important, but not in becoming a crewmate. That's exactly the kind of example the fishfolk are going to need to follow when it comes time to actively deal with humans again.
@ Psychosis, you can't actively compare her and Nami like that. Obviously they have those similarities in background, having even been spoken of by they themselves. But in reality, they're pretty much polar opposites.
Nami, up to that point, was very independent and took care of her own business, and it was at that point when she finally broke down and realized she needed help. Shirahoshi has always needed protection, physically and emotionally, but now we see that in this one way, she's been able to stay stronger than anyone else. She doesn't make for a good pirate in the least, but she DOES have the ability to carry her mother's mantle better than anyone along with the Sea King power to back it up.
Besides, as I said, I can't seriously see her being wanted "dead or alive" in any sense.
-
I think it's Ironic how Jinbe and Robin are standing right next to each other because thats like exactly how their respective coins were positioned when the Bandai Gold SH coins were leaked. :ninja:
-
Yes, I give concede completely that I believe that Jimbe will be the next nakamate. Not only has he fit right in in that spread, but clearly Shira is the strongest of her family in the ways she most needs to be for the sake of the fish and mer-folk and their future in PO-verse. Its the strongest argument against her thus far, IMHO.
(But I will say she doesn't look too big for the ship in that spread, lol)
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
@Don:
It was "the first crewmember" and by that Zoro is counted as "1".
But you think a giant will join?
Mhh, i see the same problem as with Shirahoshi here..the size.
Still not compatible to the Sunny.Eh, it remains to be seen, but there is always the possibility that a half giant, or a small-ish giant that is sort of a misfit may join for reasons of his own…
As for Shira's size, as I said, she doesn't look too big now--though I admit it could be the angle of the shot, lol -
I'd like a giant with a Zoan fruit to join. If they remain in the in-between point like Chopper they'll probably fit on the ship, and it's be awesome to see that in battle. Could you imagine Sanji kicking some small animal at an enemy…and then it transforms into a fucking giant!
-
I'm just living in denial atm I know! But out of evry1 that "joined" the crew, Jinbe is one of the few in this manga that really means nothing to me.
With that being said, let's all hope he's the first and only SH to die in One Piece. -
^ What's with you? Even though I'm a skeptic, I wouldn't expect him to die.
Are you by any chance trollingI'd like a giant with a Zoan fruit to join. I predict Usopp already has ammo that can transform into giant creatures. So far we've only seen the pop greens, but he might have some pet insect larvae that can pop out. Captain Usopp and his army of 8000 becomes true. (Not exactly men, but it works, right?)

What I'm about to say may sound delusive somehow. However, I haven't recall any rule set on stone stating that the SHP cannot recruit two members in the same location. I've seen several post claiming Jimbe or Shirahoshi for Nakama specially after the last 633 chapter spread appeared. But there are also another two possibilities, both or none. Here I am trying to keep myself as open minded as I possibly can.
The problem I see with the spread is that Pappug is there. I wouldn't like to drag him/it into the mix unless something else happens. However if he were to join by chance, mistake or fate nobody could say he didn't appear in any spread. His position would be that of a tailor; which is abdurdly useless off shore. Or another emergency supply.
I must be true to myself and admit that Jimbe looks pretty damn fine there among the mugi crew where I first thought he wouldn't fit properly. Oda proved me wrong on that one. He sure has a big chance. BB got 4 of the prissoners held in ID level six so 1 for Luffy wouldn't be bad at all.
-
While I've alwayd preferred Jinbe returning to the Sun Pirates and staying as allies with the Straw Hat Pirates, it is seeming more likely that it will happen. That spread along with the fact that he's fighting with the SH against the NFP and most new crewmembers do fight alongside the SH before officially joining.

I'll just leave that right here.
As for Pappug, I don't even wanna get into it, but needless to say, he, Caimie and Hatchi make a dynamic trio that shouldn't be broken up.
-
Pappug was left with Zoro - Brook - Mansopp when Caime and Nami both did the runner.
Pappug is there because he was rescued with them.Caime's and Hatchan's Absence I want to be noteworthy but with the way this arc is going I wouldn't be surprised if they are still in the forrest Caime looking after Hatchi. I'll wait it out though because I am not sure how this whole arc is going at the moment.
-
So do I. I like those 3 continuing to sell takoyaki while Pappug and Keimi also expand the Criminal brand after this arc is over. They're already achieveing their dreams (Hachi selling takoyaki, Pappug becoming rich through his Criminal brand, and Keimi learning about fashion).
-

True. But her example to the merfolk as "the most peaceful action" has been portrayed already . I'll treat her actions of forgiveness as the most peaceful in OP ever since I can't recall anything similar. Nevertheless being the most peaceful is not necessarily the right path to choose. Keeping a promise of not hating the killer of your loved ones is indeed courageous however she should not be excused of the negligence that such actions may incur. She was negligent toward her duties irregardless of the reason and as such she put her beloved island in peril. I agree that her ability to look past hatred is important but her naivity is too reckless. She needs to know the world better if she indeed intends to bring humans and fishfolk together. Fukaboshi and the other princes who have the same dream would be better fit to be leaders in my eyes, leaving the prophesy aside. Think about the 8 years that have past already in which there were 2 reveries where the FI kingdom stood down because a so called human killed the queen.
The highest toll of this development will be on Shirahoshi. The burden that her own decisions brought to her may well be the clamps that will keep her from adventuring. The sort of thing that happened to Vivi with the difference that in this case it may be out of remorse, attonement and/or commitment

@BC
We all know that the SHs are a gathering place for all kind of weird characters…so adding to the list a giant in the future wouldn`t be that surprising.
But non the less, then we should also see a dwarf and a long arm tribe guy joining in near future. :) -

I'm not sure what that has to do with you saying both or neither might join. Whether Shirahoshi's thought process was correct or not is beside the point (though Jinbe did assure her she wasn't wrong).
I meant that she's the one best capable to one day carry on her mother's legacy, both because of her ability to overcome hatred, both for humans and fellow fishfolk, and for the Sea King ability that she can eventually use to protect her people wherever they may end up. She's way too soft to send out on a dangerous voyage against bloodthirsty enemies, but she can hone her own special skills among her people to better protect them as they protected her. As far as I can see, it'd be a much more poetic end to her arc.
-

You're right, it really doesn't have anything to do with both of them joining or not. Back then I was just stating that there were also those other two possible outcomes.
I meant that she's the one best capable to one day carry on her mother's legacy, both because of her ability to overcome hatred, both for humans and fellow fishfolk, and for the Sea King ability that she can eventually use to protect her people wherever they may end up. Considering that she is the youngest among the royal siblings and seeing the determination and will the rest of them have, I'm pretty sure they can be just fine with or without her.The will has been passed on to all the family and that's why Otohime's legacy has so much power; this is one of those rare cases where not only quality but also quantity counts and we have both reflected among the next generation of the Royal Fishman family. Besides, Hody's actions have just made clearer that the majority of the fishman population really felt Otohime's desires.
Funny enough, the reason why you're saying that she shouldn't be sent off is the same reason why I would send her on a journey without having second thoughts . Certainly she's too soft, the kind of softness you can only mold through experience for which Shira has, well almost nil. Being trapped in a tower of a castle within a massive "fishbowl" some 10000 m under the sea is not the best enviroment to sharpen your wit. And this chapter proved it with her innocent actions(though as you said Jimbei assured they were ok). Thank god this arc hasn't had the evil royal brother orchestring behind the curtains cause Shiras heart would likely be swayed by false promisses.
but she can hone her own special skills among her people to better protect them as they protected her. As far as I can see, it'd be a much more poetic end to her arc.
Granted, her ability is one of the major reasons she should stay behind to look after her people. Although it doesn't matter how powerful an ability if you lack control over it. Which would lead to her needing a way of gaining experience; again I see traveling an option here though I agree its not the only one.

You don't use a hammer to crack an egg. All the experience she'll need can likely be gained wherever she and the rest of the kingdom end up. She doesn't need to trek to the New World just for that, and if Luffy is the one destined to put her on the right path, I doubt it'll require more than his actions now and a few key words at the end, as has always been the case.
Also as Jinbe said, practically no one could be expected to forgo their hatred like she did. Don't forget, as a 7-10 year old, no one's wit would be a sharp as you expect it should be, but it was through her pure desire to follow her mother's way that created this catalyst for change. On the flip side, I think you need at least a little smidge o' hatred if you wanna be a respectable pirate.
Finally, to say her family can get on fine without her…I don't need to explain why that's just silly, do I?
-

I didn't mean without her as if she was going to be abducted or pass away . Its just a journey you know. Those are the kind of overprotective thoughts I feel that may chain the princess. Anyway, I'm just saying that travelling would serve her well. It doesn't have to be with the strawhats but seriously if you want to bring two races together you need to know both of them to some extent and I'm not even sure if shira knows anything about the human race; the same goes for her brothers. The fact that the SH's are heading to the new world is irrelevant;what would a young adventurer of the New world island do if he/she wants to set sail and travel.I wouldn't believe that the random isle would get the "wait you can't we are in the middle of the New world is too dangerous. Take the EB saga and the First part of the GL as a comparisson.
About the hammer and the egg. Well I confess I've done it; with research purposes though.:ninja:
Edit: Didn't notice you expanded on the last reply so I'm editing a bit this one, I hope is alright. I'm not so sure about the hatred-pirate relation or whether or not if you don't have any you wouldn't be respected by others. Is there a manual guidebook on how to be a respectful pirate? can't recall one but it would be a classy topic for a new tread.

Would you call keeping her locked in a tower for 10 years overprotective? I would, but it was quite necessary. She hasn't had a chance to experience anything outside her own room, and that includes her own people. I think she needs time to get reacquainted with her own kind before tackling humans, at any rate.
It could stand to reason that people on New World islands might be just as isolated as folks on some Grand Line and Blue islands. Someone might think of lighting rain as normal and water drops as the strange phenomenon; for all we know, they might fear the Grand Line being as dangerous just as much as the reverse. Plus, there's a reason no one, not even people native to the New World, has yet made it to Raftel.
Between Jinbe and Shirahoshi, one's gotta stay and one's gotta go. Jinbe can't stay because he's still wanted, and of the two, he's still more unsure about which philosophy is right than she is, and can hold his own in a fight to boot. If his dream connects to finding that lasting path to peace, he'll be better equipped to find it, with both his strength and his understanding of Tiger and Otohime, out on the sea than Shirahoshi.
Additionally, I'm not saying pirates are ornery all the time, or that each one is meaner than the last. But all of them, the Straw Hats included, do get angry. They get mad when their friends are hurt, and they'll take it out on whoever hurt them. If Shirahoshi did that, she'd lose something that makes her unique.
And hey, if you wanna start a "What Makes a Respectable Pirate?" thread, be my guest; it might be fun. :)

**Until Oda make his final move, there is no guarantee, the issue about "Jinbe or Shirahoshi or nobody" will continue.
For** Shirahoshi–---if she joins Straw Hat Pirates, then one of the biggest problems will be how her kingdom and her people survive from the retaliation of World Government Armed Force.

See, I was personally hoping he gets the 8000 followers in Elbaf, since he tends to bond well with giants.
In any case, I see a lot of what I think has been said. Jinbe looks great in the mix, and while Shirahoshi really does seem more possible now, being a huge, weak princess is still too much of an issue in my opinion.
Wonder if Caimie and Hachi were left alone to have some action of their own …

I'm replying somewhat late but I really needed to have some sleep yesterday. That argument of "she hasn't enjoyed her own race" is actually valid and very appropiate for her to stay behind. I've got to admit that it never crossed my mind and I was assuming she new already what happens on FI. So yeah that's a powerful reason to stay with her townsfolk for now.
It could stand to reason that people on New World islands might be just as isolated as folks on some Grand Line and Blue islands. Being more dangerous than "paradise" it's all we know for now. Even so, harsh enviroments bring up stronger people or at least fellows adapted to whichever circumstances they have lived in.
