@Reyairia:
My main issue for Jinbe is that even if he has respect for Luffy, he's shown multiple times that he still thinks like a captain in the sense that he doesn't like to listen to what other people say and is unwilling to follow orders even from those he does respect as shown by Ace and Whitebeard.
You could say the same with Zoro, but Zoro has been with Luffy since the start and it's too late to introduce a character with a similar sense of "I make my own decisions" into the crew.
Your right in this sense. He said to Ace he wouldn't look after Luffy, but since he respected him after the war he became loyal to him.
Jinbe has shown to think as a captain, however that's what I think will be intregal to him possibly joining, and Luffy's character development. For one reason or another Jinbe does not want Hodi and Luffy fighting. May it be he thinks Luffy will lose, or he thinks Luffy will win and it will further damage the Fishman/human relationship, Luffy will prove to Jinbe he knows what he's doing.
Luffy while naive, always shows himself in these arcs. He shows himself to be a competent fighter, and whatever he does for himself, usually ends up well for everyone else. Luffy will prove himself at the end of this arc to be a great Captain once again, and someone Jinbe can trust to lead him.
Jinbe is the type of person that is a natural leader….however knows who is better. He knows what Luffy can do, and by the end of this arc, Jinbe may want to support Luffy in the New World, and trust his leadership. Who knows, maybe this could be a running gag, Luffy doing something silly on the ship, Jinbe trusting his leadership and going along with whatever it is, like building a snowman, or dancing with Chopsticks in your nose.
@looking_at_you:
Jinbe and Franky are probly around the same size now so that is not a problem and the ship is a drawing not real.
Argument wasn't about Jinbe, I was using the example. I am saying the Mermaid Princess is well…a much different issue with size.
