Ever get that not so fresh feeling?
Medaka Box
-
-
Does the anime follow the manga?
-
So Anshinin has been beat by a mere human.
-
I really want to know exactly what the ability High Risk Unicorn actually does.
-
This chapter was the most fresh chapter yet.
-
This chapter was the most fresh chapter yet.
I can't help but to think of him as The Freshmaker. And that actually always puts this video inside my head:
-
New chapter out! This is so f*cking unpredictible! Seriously, It's jut constant twit and turns every chapter
-
Okay Iihiko is the best with this chapter, he is like the most laid-back(fresh) evil guy ever, its great.
And that is one way of using glasses.
-
I have no idea how they can beat this guy. He is literally the most overpowered hax villain ever created. Dio, Hao from Shaman King, Aizen and Madara combined couldn't beat him.
-
Dio doesn't deserve to be included with the shit of the shit of the Shonen Jump Villians, he's a true villian, not a poster boy from a generic sad story.
Also this guy beyond that he's incredibly strong and that what he destroys can't heal, hasn't shown anything that terrible.
I don't like your reactions to him, he's supposed to be incredibly overpowered, but not "Dio level", he's a random boss that showed up 3 chapters ago, not the monster who controls the destiny of the world. There's no buildup, no personal investment beyond what you feel when in a game you get to the deep end of the pool and get ouclassed by some random gorila.
-
I don't know you, but to me Medaka Box is my second series in Shounen Jump after One Piece. There's no other manga that thrills and leaves me at the edge of my seat with every single chapter than this one, not even Gintama which is one of my favorites too.
-
It's cool, but I don't feel any tension with this, and barely attached with the characters, I'm sure that the Shiranui not equal (who can create abilities), or even Shiranui herself (who's supposed to be very strong, but hasn't done a thing ever) can undo whatever went wrong.
I read it because Kumagawa and Ashinashin, to read about a shonen jump heroine rather than hero, to see if they manage to come up with something crazy.

Jesus Merry Christmas, calm the fuck down. I'm only talking in terms of sheer power level. The point of my analogy is that you have these group of villains famous for being grossly over-powered who would be absolutely flattened if they were in a hypothetical battle against this villain. I'm not making any comment on the characters themselves as much as emphasizing how insanely, monstrously, catastophically broken this new character is. Like end of the universe level.
In terms of the character himself, he has virtually no depth but he's fun and quirky and entertaining and his power and abilities are really cool (which already puts him above 3 of the 4 characters I listed). Of course he's not a character to be taken seriously, Medaka Box as a series is not really meant to taken on a deeper level than visceral pleasures of the author continually outdoing himself with even crazier antics, funny fourth wall jokes and sometimes even genuinely heart-warming character moments. We just want to see what this insane juggernaut of absolute destruction is going to do next.
Of course Dio is a "stronger character" but in terms of power? The guy who obliterated the previously most broken character with over 14 quadrillion skills? Get real, this guy would end him.
-
Ghhh, I don't want to start a Characters Battle Thread, but I agree in your perception of Medaka Box.
-
Medaka Box has been like this since long ago. Showing crazy final bosses each on a whole new league compared to the previous ones. It started with the electric dude, followed by Kumagawa and his all-fiction and Ajimu and her billion trolling skills, who was never really defeated in combat until now, mind you.
Same way Ajimu was defeated without actually fighting her I guess this new (and maybe last) boss would be dealt with brains instead of brawn. Unless of course he kills everyone marking the end of the manga, which wouldn't surprise me at all since Medaka Box always had that "you just got trolled" aura around it.

! I'm sad that Anshin'in-San is dead.. and it seems to be permanent.

! Because when she reappears we will only see her back now with the no equal simbol.
-
I want to see another Wall of Text Beatdown.
Those were lovely.
-
! I'm sad that Anshin'in-San is dead.. and it seems to be permanent.
! It was cool to see the front six, but I couldn't help but to snicker at "pasive" and "active"She already died once before against Kumagawa and I bet she died in all those hundreds of millions of times against this new bad guy too. It's been established her physical body is expendable compared to her soul.
-
Is Iihiko really saying "fresh" in Engrish over and over, because lol
FUREEEEEESHI
-
I keep hearing Franky's voice when he says Fresh from when Chopper fed him veggie juice.
-
That guys face was male orgasmic
-
No new chapter or anything but I just want to say that this manga got incredibly interesting once the minuses entered the picture.
I mean, it was already pretty cool, but
That just put it through the roof for me. I love these minus characters so very much.No wonder Kumogawa is always shown as the poster boy for Medaka Box on /a/, he's incredibly intriguing.
-
No new chapter or anything
What?
-
Lol it took me forever to read through that chapter
-
I cant stop looking at his face! no homo
-
What?
Sorry: "no new chapter as far as I know."
Which I don't, because I am only at chapter 100 of the series.
:wassat:

Ahhhhh…. my bad then.
-
It would be so funny if Medaka died.
-
That was ~such a ride~
Just caught up!
! That was seriously such a thrill to read, through and through. Logic… while being secondary... was at the same time at the very forefront! I don't quite know how to explain it. Things were operating on illogical and logical means both at the same time!
! First of all the art is WICKED. A duty of every artist that wants to be recognized is to have a memorable style, and the style of this manga is pure fire and energy. Every panel that comes after the panel before it just clicks in place in my brain--as in, "Of course! That is the exact panel that needs to go after that panel!" I obviously do not always feel this when reading manga.
! This Shiranui stuff... I've been waiting for this, and to be caught up in the midst of it in these latest chapters is awesome as fuck! I've been waiting for whatever her deal was to be revealed for a long time, and as soon as I catch up, there's the whole enchilada! Yesss!
! -While sometimes it could be really difficult at times to press on... to fight the walls of text... survive the beatdown of each letter... the fact that I did it makes me feel just a little like Medaka. TAKE THAT, YOU SUPERBLY WORDY COMIC. I will not lie, I played the victory fanfare theme of Final Fantasy on YouTube after I caught up with this.
! -The Minus Arc was glorious! Obviously. I love how the new opening of the anime gives us a glimpse of Kumagawa. Right after the victory against Oudo and his subordinate... the sure-to-be-epic battle between the Specials(?) was interrupted in, unbelievably, an even more epic way by Kumagawa nailing them to the fucking wall! Kumagawa was obviously the driving force of the Minus Arc, making it a total unpredictable battlefield, but what interested me was Shiranui filling in a spot in Kumagawa's Minus team... now that's been explained! And battling above vipers? Yeah boi!
! -I found the first big arc to be very exciting all the way through, but the sudden beatdown of Medaka by the "8581948271287" girl (Unzen's sister) was really unexpected for me. The manga took a sudden shift to the uber-violent; I had no idea the 180 it was going to take. I guess Unzen's battle was the battle with training wheels readying you to ride the full-fledged bicycle through the story later on. I particularly liked Zenkichi VS the "I have no reason to kill... So I'll kill you" guy. While yeah, loose manga logic, earthquakeage by stomping your foot to knock all the weapons you deflected into the roop with your Savate fighting powered legs... is something I really cannot complain about. And the dude did it impaled by like 5 swords.
! -The Not Equal stuff was VERY exciting for quite a while, but as I'm sure it's been said(?) (I don't know, not everyone thinks the same), I was quite disappointed in the way Anshin'in was defeated/befriended, holy shit. Yes, there was build-up to her seeing the world as a game/manga, but I really did not want her to go down that way. But... 10,000,000,000,000,000 skills. I see why Nishio needed her out of the way to move on. Other than that discrepancy, I loved every bit of everything involving Anshin'in. Especially the 4th wall manga talk... holy crap. Openly insulting Shounen Jump? Not even Oda would go there, and he can be horrifyingly brutal for the magazine at times.
Also I just love the fact that she has 10,000,000,000,000,000 skills and the fact that I and others have to type that out in scanlations. I mean, you can say 10 quadrillion, but where's the integrity in that!? It's just not as majestic!
! -The wordplay in the suitor duels were fantastic, and I had no foresight that the 6 doubles for the suitors, or that they even were doubles, would be defeated just like that. I'll admit, with the suitors, I was like "Where is this all leading up to!?" for quite a while, but what a payoff! All of this Shiranui & Iithiko stuff is just phenomenal!
! -And who could forget, the struggle to become main character. Just yes, manga! Yes!
! This actually happened
! And this
! Japan, I forgive you for liking Sasuke so much in the popularity polls. -
[Medaka Box 168
G](http://www.batoto.net/read/_/138013/medaka-box_ch168_by_cxc-scans)od I love the interaction between Kumagawa and Anshin'in.
-
This chapter was basically fanservice for me, all my favourite MB characters had great scenes. Kumagawa, Anshin'in, Zen and Hansode are great.
-
Excelent chapter, the friendship between Shiranui and Zenkichi hasn't clicked for me untill just now that I realized, this is how a real (even though a little over the top) frienship starts, not with a dramatic lifechanging event, but with 2 people who share a moment of fun.
Also I'm now ok with Anashin's death, but maybe this new skill of Kumagawa can indeed revive her.
That hug, and those words of encouragement, this manga dances in the line of "Shonen" and "Shonen Parody" that I'm dumbfounded with this. But I like it.
-
Still not buying Anashin's death. It just isn't happeneing.
Her talk with Kumagawa was fantastic. When she blew up that star to make a point? OOMPH so fucking good.
-
Is she a god or something ?
-
Technically yes, she has "Spec Over": Become God skill. And other 10,000,000,000,000,000+ skills.
-
Medaka Box Chapter 169 "She would leave immediately, even if she was at a relative's funeral"
Only you, Medaka Box. -
And Kumagawa takes 1st place but wow im kinda suprised that Akune took 2nd place, good for him.
-
Fuck me this plot is goddamn crazy. But I love it. If you're going to go all in, go all in, I say. The whole Jet Black Wedding Feast was just a ploy by Professor Tsurubami to propose to Shiranui!? This is hilariously unpredictable
-
This is totally insane, stupid and fucked up and I'm loving it.
-
…Yeah. This is the only series where someone could say outlandish things like that ("I was actually planning to do this [where "this" = marrying a damn loli] all along!") and have me buy it.
-
Wha…...wha......wha
-
And this is the only series where the protagonist can be beyond absurdly brokenly overpowered and still have interesting struggles ahead of her
-
Sometimes you have to compromise.
-
Last chapter in a nutshell:
-
Lolicon! Lolicon! Lolicon! Lolicon!
-
That girl keeps say Sh instead of S. It pisses me off
-
It took me 2 pages to realize what was going on, I should pay more attention.
-
I can't believe I didn't notice sooner a pretty good string of chapters so far.
Btw is anyone else watching the anime? Naze's voice was pure sex
-
So is Medaka Box Abnormal the official name? What episode has Naze?
