uh, well. I mean, the top 3 is interchangeable. I like those series but i wouldn´t put one on top of another. But yes, indeed there´s five in there. My bad.

I still don't follow Toriko so can't say much about it and Gintama which I've never read since I know that there's a great lack on volumes online.
My two favorites series are One Piece and Beelzebub. I do like Bakuman and magico quite a lot, but the other two really do stand out for me.
As for Enigma, well, lately the manga didn't feel so good to me, I don't like it at the bottom 5, but it isn't as good as it once was imo but I'm currently three chapters behind, so… I actually will read them now and edit here later if necessary.EDIT: Enigma got cool again, the last chapter specially was a really good one for me but since the TOC's actually are for seven or eight chapters before I guess I can understand it's ranking a bit though I still want it to go up by a lot.

Id say that your analisis is spot on. The only +100 that I still want to read. But not now.
-
Oh Bleach, you so insane.
I heard Kuroko no basket is garbage, but won't get canceled because Jump needs sport manga. Is that true? Because it's just sad - I just finished 3 weeks marathon of Hajime no Ippo, and I'm delightfully surprised how interesting sports manga can be when done right. I want Jump to get something competent too. -
I need to read Beelzebub.
-
Nurarihyon no Mago deserved the name of Owarihyon no Mago (Owari = End) over at 2ch, but I hope the crysis for it is over now. It certainly has some interesting setup and I'd love Shiibashi to finally do some interesting stuff with it. I hope it'll do better now.
Lose all your hope for Hunter x Hunter - it's likely going to dwell in the bottom when it's back, just like it did last time. Readers' patience isn't boundless.
-
lol Everyone (including me) has the same favourite 5 or 6 WSJ manga that they want to see at the top.
Happy about Bleach's new (possibly regular for a while) position.
Not happy about Enigma's off-week. -
^ not me, i really REALLY dislike bakuman :V
and atm i only read the first toriko chapter

I won't read Enigma Nor Magico untill they have 100 chapters, even though I've heard good things about them.
Why are you following me and asking me to explain my posts?

Are there any weird looking people in this series ?
Y'all know, a series has to at least have a four armed man fighting with a straw to hook me in.
. .
-
I don't care. The only series that I've read since the BEGINING is Bakuman, and that's because it had 2 hit authors backing it up.
I won't invest my time in a manga that could get canceled at any time. If me reading it could somehow improve it's chances to survive, like if I could fill the polls or something, I'd do it.
-
Yeah good thing I never read that zoo manga with the rabbit.
-
. .
That was a joke dingit
Personaly, if a story is good it shouldn't matter whether or not it "could" get canceled at any moment seeing even series over 100 chapters can get canceled.
-
How can you dislike Bakuman?
Unless you don't like to read much.
at first i "liked" it, it was useful for the people who were interested in knowing how its the process and best ways to get an idea, turn it into a manga, and get it published…
but i dont give a **** about the personal life of the characters, i dont like any of them (used to like eiji, and fukuda. now i only like hiramaru)
i also dont care if they get or dont get an anime, most of the characters annoy me to no end.
most of the characters looks the same with different hair, and some of the girls looks like fish, and not in the cool way like OP
no, i dont care the amount of text at all. that never bothered me
for a shonen jump manga that teach us how to get a manga in shonen jump, its the least shonen stuff i`ve ever read... it never amuses me, mostly bores me, i never get the least bit excited of what will happen on the next chapter... and, except for very few hiramaru and yoshida moments, i never laugh at all X_X
-
You do realize that shonen manga is pretty much manga for young boys and doesn't necessarily need to be action packed.
-
y dis manga no have explosion
-
I do realize, im not saying all shonen must be action and adventure in outdoors
but it feels so non-shonen…
-
Why is that .

I know I was joking too.
And of course it can have a good story but most manga that are canceled left plot points hanging and even if you really liked that series it will end with a bad taste in your month.
And its rare for manga that get canceled after the 100 chapter mark, the last one I remember is Psyren(I didn't really enjoy it anyway so no loss there)
-
It's kind of hard to choose a top 5 with current JUMP, theres so many quality titles up now that it's hard to choose a right list without being subjective. Especially since i haven't read every series yet.
-

There's also the infamous original Shaman King ending.
-
Many quality titles in current Jump? That's pushing it.
-
One day, maybe not today or maybe not tomorrow, but one day….I will read Bakuman, Sket Dance and Gintama.
One day. -
@No:
There's also the infamous original Shaman King ending.
I only started reading Shaman King after the new ending was made so no problems for me but I can see problems for the people who liked the series at the time.
Now lets wait for the same thing to happen to Bleach, that would be good.
-

Ok yeah but i meant too many for a top 5. Sket dance, Gintama, Toriko, One Piece, Bakuman, Beelzebub and Hunter X Hunter.
These are all great series and i would really have trouble choosing for some to fall out.
-

While the big appeal of Bakuman is it's a manga about how people go about making manga, that's not the entire appeal.
You're dismising half of the series just because we, GASP, actually get to see how the mangaka function in the real world and, YOU BETTER SIT DOWN FOR THIS, grow as human beings as well as mangaka.
i also dont care if they get or dont get an anime, most of the characters annoy me to no end.
You're going to have to clarify this. How are they annoying? I can understand being annoyed by Iwase or Aoki before Aoki stopped being a bitch, but a majority of the cast are not annoying.
Like at all.
most of the characters looks the same with different hair, and some of the girls looks like fish, and not in the cool way like OP
This is a load of bullshit.
Are you seriously trying to tell me, for example, that Eiji, Fukuda, and Hiramaru look the same just with different hair?
Jesus.

Shonen is an incredibly broad genre. Shonen is not all battle manga.
Shonen can be straight up gag series. Shonen can be sports manga like Slam Dunk and Eyeshield. Shonen can even be stuff like Death Note. Hell even ecchi series can be shonen.
It is no stretch of the imagination that a drama/slice of life like Bakuman is shonen. Bakuman is very very shonen.
As for never getting excited what happens next chapter, are we reading the same series? Like almost every chapter ends with a cliffhanger. Hell it's almost predictable how many chapters in Bakuman end with cliffhangers. Even the terrible arcs in Bakuman at least left you wondering what happened next. None of these ever enticed you to wonder what happened next? Really?

RPGJay, here's the answer to all of your questions:
-
I do realize, im not saying all shonen must be action and adventure in outdoors

Ironically, Bakuman is easily the best manga at showing shonen traits. Some of the last pages of recent chapters have been near-personifications of the concept of shonen. It's probably just not your cup of tea though. Just wanted to note that honestly Bakuman is probably more "shonen" than One Piece or Toriko.
-
One Piece on top, Bleach on bottom.
Everything in between.Details are overrated.
-
i find iwase and nakai extremely annoying
and yeah, you
re right, it
s definitely not my cup of tea. i just read it for an exchange with a friend. She had to read OP for said exchange. Im glad she loves OP now, too bad she can`t even write a single word in english–-
you`re trying to say im being a troll because i made a VDD in Homestuck style? not all Homestuck charas are trolls P: -
It looks like Horikoshi (author of Oumagadoki Doubutsuen) and Matsui (author of Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro) will bring their new works on upcoming Jump Next.
I can't wait what the author of Neuro has in store, hope its good.
and ughhhhh Skadi.
-
Just finished reading Nuramago latest chapter, and I must say it deserves to be on par with Toriko and Beelzebub. Marvelous story, great plot, likeable characters, cunning and devilish villains, countless folklore myths being adapted into the story, originality… I love it.
You guys should give it a try, if you still haven't.
-
I started reading it but didn't find it that interesting, maybe because I find the humam characters more interesting than the youkai characters and the humans don't do anything except in some chapters.
-

Until which chapter? Anyway, give it another try and you should like it past the Kyoto arc.
-
I read until the Kyoto arc actually I didn't like that arc actually heh but I will give it shot, need to start it again because I don't remember much.

YATTA!!!!!!!!
Finally, Matsui's back>

you know whats hilarious? i've said countless times that I dropped bakuman and nobody has ever asked me why and yet skadi says he/she doesn't like it and everyone asks him/her why.
as for nura is the kyoto arc what was covered in the first anime season?

Why'd you drop Bakuman? The series is great. I hate to play this card, but you like Reborn and Shaman King but actually good series like Bakuman? Heh, those are boring, for some reason. No offense GEPPETO I don't want to do this to you, but your tastes are kind of weird. You seem to have an inconsistent view of what makes a series good or bad. Many of the problems that exist in Bleach are also very prevalent in Reborn, Shaman King and Fairy Tail (series you've admitted to liking) and I really have to question why you'd give up on Bakuman, a series which continues to hold my interest and not those series.
I'm not trying to drill you or anything, it's just your tastes seem a bit inconsistent to me. It kind of ties into that mentality I dislike where Bleach and Naruto (crappy series don't get me wrong) are the "cool" thing to hate for One Piece fans so some fans just hate on them because it's "cool" and other equally crappy series which are less cool to hate on are perfectly decent series to these people when they're actually just as flawed. I just really dislike that mentality and I'm not necessarily saying you have it (though it kind of looks like it). I just want some clarification please.
But I guess what this all comes down to in the end is, why'd you drop Bakuman?
-
Its funny, I hate Bleach but Reborn is one of the series I love.
I can't seen to not like it even after its flaws have been pointed out to me.
-
you know whats hilarious? i've said countless times that I dropped bakuman and nobody has ever asked me why and yet skadi says he/she doesn't like it and everyone asks him/her why.
Well I'm assuming you don't go around stating downright wrong things you made up as legitimate flaws and then hide behind the "Well it's my opinion and opinions are never wrong" wall when someone calls you out on your bullshit. So that's probably why you don't have a ton of people inquiring about why you dropped Bakuman.
Besides I've seen you around GEPPETOSMONSTER and I just want to say I respect you even if I don't always agree with you.
-

I never said that. I may have been wrong about what a shonen may contain, but i dont hide behind "its my opinion and opinions are never wrong".
I openly admited bakuman is not my cup of tea. Must be that im not accustomed to this kind of shonen. I didnt wanted to start any kind of arguing, i was just telling that not everybody here has bakuman on his/her top 5
-
The funniest part about Bleach tanking is it could have died peacefully with Aizen's incarceration, but Kubo characteristically tried to give it an afterlife. Is it true he made an appeal to fans on helping him improve his manga?

funny thing is, i bet even these 10-15 year olds could write a better story then he ever could, at least a functioning one at best

I like Shaman King and Fairy Tail because there fun reads for me, I read them the same reason why I watched DragonballZ when I was 8 and that was solely for the RAAAWRS and Pewpew gigantor explosions. I don't however like REBORN all that much anymore at first I thought it was a good series until the same formula is used in practically every arc. New enemies appear the vongola kids get new powers those new powers either work for them or end up being useless and they lose anyway, at the end tsuna always prevails because he stops becoming a whiny bitch than reverts back to being a whiney bitch again in the next arc completely disregarding character growth.
Now to answer your question why did I drop Bakuman? simple really I would love to read it in it's entirety which when it comes to those 2 sorry don't remember there names, they seem to have a series last for a little bit it looks like this series is lasting for quite some time now. Another reason why I dropped was because personally for me I felt like I was reading it just to see where Mashiro and Azuki's manga landed on the fantasy TOC, the last batch of chapters I read was Mashiro showing his uncles grave a draft or something sorry it's been so long, that scene made me cry but why didn't I continue on after that? well I really don't like slice of life drama storys not saying there not great just not my thing, when I do get into them however I like to read or watch them when the series is completed.
I hope this answers your question, if this however sparks more questions please ask and i'll be glad to answer to the best of my ability
