I kinda feel sorry for Devilyman. Ouch. Though admittedly the story doesn't grab me in and the characters are meh. The MC isn't likeable and actually seem more "evil" than the villain in the series.
Such a shame, really. It gambled with having a character setup outside the norm for a shonen manga, but it didn't work out. Better luck next time, Fukuda.
By MC you mean the 7-year-old, right? The schtick between him and Madogiwa is that they have each other's personalities (in terms of what you'd expect given their designs), so he's supposed to be evil (well, he seems more chaotic neutral to me, but I digress).
I do agree on the not-too-likeable part, though. It's neat that Tairu's evil, but he's not ~FUN~ about it.
