i haven't watch the episode yet as a k-f release, but when i first saw it at the german channel rtl2, i didn't think it was that bad.
sure, it was pretty lousy, but worth 5 apises?!
then again, i didn't understand a word they were saying when i saw it on television.

lol! xD That was pretty bad…. And I spotted an error! Nami had a flashback of talking to Bellmere(sp?)where she was suprised that B-san didn't know what was beyond the grand line even though she had been a marine. Funny thing is, Nami didn't know B-san was a marine until a few hours before .... you know....
WTF? Didn't K-F proclaim the "Worst Episode of One Piece Ever" to be the one with the fake rebels??

That's the second worst, because after watching it, I deleted it.
I don't know about this one…it's getting me curious...
If Rock Lee is in it, it can't be ALL bad. Rock Lee is one of the few things that makes Naruto good. 
I thought that the first half was funny. I love "shady salesman" stories, which also explains why I love The Music Man so much. XD

EDIT:… and now it works! Even though it got some bad reviews, I'll still watch it since it's One Piece...
Definatly close to unwatchable, but it's One Piece so I suffered through it. There was the occasional moment that made me smile, like the salesman saying hes got anything and Luffy saying, you have food? But yeah, mostly I was just lost wondering if there was ever going to be any point to this episode, which of course, there wasn't. This episode made Apis look like an Oda crafted epic.
With everyone going off on how horrible this episode is, I was scared to watch it…but it wasn't really THAT bad. I mean, it was mind-numbingly boring, but it didn't make me cringe or want to puke. ^_^ It had some funny moments, at least.
First 11 - 12 minutes were unbearable! Just totally mind-numbing, forgettable stuff. But after the splash pages, the episode took a turn for the better, though not too much better.
But I do like how the filler is trying to put more emphasis on Nami as navigator & her dreams.
Chopper was so cute when he didn't dare telling Nami.. -cries a tear and whipes it- So kawaii..
And I still liked the episode.

If u have seen the anime Sazae-san, you'll recognise that phrase…
You know, I didn't think that episode was bad at all, really. For a second I worried that Luffy might find out about his bounty too early, but nothing really annoying happened (Rice Rice was kind of annoying, but also kinda amusing.) I would have given it a 2-3 apis rating personally (then again, I actually liked the Apis filler arc…)

Honestly, I don't think that the episode was that bad at all. Of course it doesn't compare to the tales Oda weaves, but it all fit into the series pretty well. It certainly wasn't a great episode, but I don't think it was as bad as many make it out to be… It had some good jokes in it which was a plus.
I don't have any problems with most of the filler. Some of it isn't great, but I'm not about to delete it because OMG IT'S NOT ODA'S STORY!!1!11!
I think some people just like to overreact.
I think the only filler that truly bugged me was the one with the old man and his two kids in the Alabasta arc. I didn't hate it though, I just didn't care for it. shrug
I kinda wonder if people would be so venomous about hating the filler if there wasn't an apis-o-meter (which I thought was a horrible idea) and Dythim (whom I adore) weren't so vocal in his hate for all filler.
After watching I can say it wasn't the best episode ever, but wasn't terrible.
In some ways I'm thankful for filler and in some ways I hate to get pulled away from the main story. Either way, filler is a fact of life and nobody forces you to watch the filler if you don't want to.

We have glossed over some things in the past that would have just been too hard to explain because they have no relevance to anything, like Mr. 3's frequent use of -kane and -gane used as part of his "Doru Doru Fruit". _This is a secret but… it's actually reverse psychology. I think the opposite of what you said would be true - if there were no commitment one way or the other there would be more negative and neutral sentiment about the episodes. I think there has to be some emotion associated with the episodes for people to continue watching.
It's just more fun this way ^^. If I really hated it as much as you seem to think I do, I would not go through the trouble of posting the [Apis-o-Meter] or even subbing the episode at all.

I don't know if they have tha same Sazae-san intro like last time I was in japan. That was in 1996. (OMG have it been goin' this long??!) Every time before the intro starts, Sazae-san says: "Sazae degozai masu!" and then the song starts: "Osakana kuwaeta doraneko…"
It's just funny that Usopp makes a joke out of that by changing his voice to Sazae-san

Rundown of Sazae-san… (because I looked it up)
The anime has been airing since October 5, 1969 and is the second longest anime in history next to Doraemon. The manga/comic strip was first published April 22, 1946.
Also like Doraemon, it's targetted at a very young audience.
Each episode is broken down into 3 shorter segments (think Looney Tunes) so it's easy to digest and generally revolves around Sazae-san, a housewife in post-WWII Japan.

God, if you guys think this is bad - you have NOT seen ANYTHING yet. At least this was a one shot that had some cute stuff with Nami's past. Later on, it'll be bullshit about filler characters.

I think the filler arc from episodes 136-139 was pretty awful myself. >_>
