well its against rules to double post. Also nearly always anyone who double posts is asked not to do it.
So why dont we use vb plugin which stops it and auto-merges it with last post.

I'm all for the merge post feature. I absolutely love it and it comes in very handy to me in the tournament section where I can use it.

Yeah but how often does one bump an old dead thread where he/she was the last one to post before in comparison to replying active threads (where he/she replies and oversee's a post and writes a second reply then)? I'm quite sure that the latter happens a dozen times more often than the first scenario.

Also when the first scenario does happen, there's an easy way to get around it. Copy what you wrote in your post, delete your post. Create a new post with the contents of the previous one and whatever else you needed to revive the thread for.

How would this affect those who post in the Fics forum who type separate chapters in separate posts right after the other? Is there a character limit per post and would the merging of two posts that go over said character limit then delete the overflow?
