We discuss all sorts of mangas and animes. There are some I enjoy there are some I dislike. I just feel that having either separate threads for constructive positive (ie: Non Flaming and Trolling and Hating) for Bleach, Naruto, and Fairy Tail as well as having a combined Flame thread for all three or other mangas would be beneficial. Like I mentioned before, the Hunter x Hunter thread would be much more engaging and less cluttered if everyone complained about hiatuses and bad art in a unified flame thread. That way those people who do enjoy this activity can continue to do so and those who might wish to discuss things would also have the same opportunity.
I've actually seen the idea of a complaint/flame/dislike thread on a number of various fan forums and it seems to work out very well.

Not a mod; just been around for a while. The folks with three stars and four stars are our mods here, one star is just a senior member.
I don't speak for them, btw, just for me.
But yeah, we had a thread like that but things got out of hand and the chance of something like it coming back are slim to none. The Naruto thread was starting to approach its level, and so the solution you see before you: it has been contained.
It kinda disappoints me somewhat that posters are sometimes put in your position, where you're a respectful fan of something but feel you can't discuss it open for fear of ridicule. There are people here who do like the series. And while I feel that this is primarily a One Piece forum – so you may not be getting what you expect from a Fairy Tail fan forum – I encourage you to post anyway. As long as you're nice, people will be nice back -- even in this thread. If they're not, others will say something.
I don't have much to say about the Naruto and Bleach threads that I didn't back here, but regarding Fairy Tail I agree that people need to tone it down a whole lot for the folks who'd like to respectfully discuss the thread without getting dogpiled on, like RPGJay mentioned. But not even just for their sake; really for the sake of keeping this place from being all wank all the time. I think for a series that a lot of us supposedly know is "trash" we sometimes get too passionate about our feelings and it could stand to be taken down a peg.
I'm not different: I get worked up too, but I can't nurse that kind of fire week after week, day after day. It gets tired.
The Naruto X Bleach threads both manage to be very funny because no one takes them seriously anymore and haven't for a long time. This place could use a lot of that.

Thank you for clarifying the mod status indicators for me. That was something I had been wondering for quite a while. Like I've mentioned in a few of my previous posts even I who tends to try to find the good in anything am really having trouble justifying where Fairy Tail has gone lately. I can definitely understand the negativity and the disappointment of a manga that had gone from somewhat promising to downright abrupt and poorly written. Still I continue to enjoy the characters that I liked from the start such as Erza, Grey , Juvia etc. I happen to like them and while the writing isn't sharp as other series have its still something I continue to read because it takes me like five minutes a week. Hardly a hefty time investment. Do I think Natsu is a terrible protagonist? Oh yea for sure but there's something in me that still enjoys a lighthearted manga. With all of the series mangas that are depressing yet very epic such as Berserk and Sengeki no Kyojin (think thats the name) sometimes a little relaxed manga can be a bit of a filler. In addition, I never drop a series I figure I have spent this much time reading a manga I might as well finish it to its conclusion.
Oh and there's nothing I could ever say that could justify Mashima's overuse or Gerard or this awful time skip.

Don't comment often but I do want to say that the chapter was crud…..Rushed....pointless pass bring back the main characters.
Two weeks ago I was praising the guy for finding a way to get rid of the main characters in a 'creative' way. He basically formed a tournament to gather all the characters that have connections to each other such as family and friendships then wiped them all out. Last week I was hoping that maybe we get to see some sort of arc where the remains, even if they are weak, go out to find their old friends. Decent build up to some sort of nice chapter with a warm payoff. A payoff that is kind of lame but it would have made a nice warm feeling in your heart.
The only good thing I can like about this chapter is the reveal of Fairy Sphere. If I remember right, Fairy Law is made up of three Fairy Magic where two of them have been revealed: Fairy Glitter and Fairy Sphere. When I think about it, Glitter explains the whole pretty stuff while Sphere protects the friends from being killed by the destruction. Now I am a bit confused but am glad to see some explanation for Fairy Law.
oh, ahahaha, I just now noticed the title chance! Can I suggest "Fairly Stale" as the next one?
and yeah, I'm all for having more fun with this thing. Now, where's that checklist? I want to go through every arc and see how well each one fares.

See this is exactly what I'm referring to. Hiroy was at least attempting to start some form of conversation and immediately we get a reply like this. There should be a spot for people to discuss this manga and the others without posts like this. You like Hunter x Hunter right? Wouldn't it be nice if that thread never again mentioned Togashi's rampant Hiatuses or poor artwork in some chapters? Instead wouldn't it be better if it was purely a discussion of that manga?
I think you're forgetting that there actually is more discussion potential in Goodnight Moon. Fairy Tail literally explains all the symbolism to you, there's essentially zero foreshadowing, and the character development is all but absent.
And Togashi's hiatuses do deserve a bit of complaining. I think it's really obnoxious when there's a string of fifteen mongs saying the same thing over and over, but his breaks and laziness do hurt the manga a lot. Plus, if you look right now, there's pretty much none of that, because the series is in session. Also, the people who complain about the hiatuses are nitpicking a few major flaws of an otherwise great series. The people who troll and flame in here are nitpicking a lot of major flaws of a genuinely terrible series. If we stop the dumb jokes and trolling, what exactly is there to discuss? I honestly can't think of a single topic in this entire manga that doesn't entail the horrible writing that we complain about every week. Do you want us to sugarcoat things that are a step away from being objectively bad?

Well Mr. CP9 agent I'm very glad that you wish to express your opinion and you're free to it. It's also good to see that you acknowledge the prominent flaws of the series and also very glad to see you like some very, very good series (Shingeki no Kyojin ftw!) I'm with the rest, some of the hate in this thread could definitely get toned down. Everyone has the right to express their opinions and so this being a mostly negative thread is a just result but I wish certain posters (cough Bucephalus cough Thousand Lion-chan cough) could be just a little more respectful of other opinions.
Still I would like to make some kind of constructive criticism. Your reason for liking FT is one that I've seen multiple times which is that "I just want some light-hearted fun. I read so many dark series, something that doesn't take itself seriously is good." I can understand that reasoning, I can respect it. However, there are much, much better "Light hearted dumb fun series" out there. Just from the stuff I've read, Beelzebub is a current weekly series that's in a similar vain to Fairy Tail but much, much better as far as I'm concerned. There's also GinTama (which is fucking awesome) and doesn't take itself seriously in the slightest! However I tend to recommend the anime for that one, and I don't know whether you like to watch anime or not. I have also heard very good things about Sket Dance but I myself have not read it so I can't really comment.
I'm not trying to change your opinion or anything I'm just trying to inform you that even with the "I just want to have fun" argument, I'd say there are better series for that. It's ironic that one of the things I like about Fairy Tail is that it's generally quick, and Mashima often draws extra long chapters etc. However, there is something as too quick.
However, if these next chapters somehow (probably in a contrived manner) manage to put a long-term goal (not a next-arc goal) in place, or at least give some foundation to the only existing one (the Dragons), I'll probably forgive the rushed nature of the TS.
7 years is probably not a coincidence, or not just a contrived way of getting Romeo to grow up.

He did seem a bit hyped up. But he seemed that way in general to me from other thread posts.
I don't think the Fairy Tail thread should combine with Naruto/Bleach. That would be really chaotic. Their manga releases also come out at different times so it'd be hard to see where a link for the latest chapter or spoilers follow conversations since people are constantly posting in both threads throughout the week.
Bleach and Naruto are just made for each other. Besides, the original idea was to merge both threads of bestselling failures of Sasaki's Shonen Jack.

If we join Fairy Taint thread with any other, it should be Air Gear. Even though it has gorgeous art.

I appreciate your response. I've been reading a variety of manga for many years and do find that I enjoy a nice balance of light reading and also serious depth reading. Oh just fyi. The listing of manga I read weekly was just a sampling there. I actually do read Beelzebub and Gintama on a weekly basis as well. I was just listing a few that came to mind.

Yeah. It's not only here. He's always jumping other people and using "defending myself" or "defending [inserting meh here]" as an excuse. That… and he's tedious as hell. More tedious than this this section's "Manga Experts"... which I usually ignore anyway. I learned my lesson with starting arguments with him sometime in the Gaming Forum(it was about how he wanted the FF series to move to WiiU or something).
Well maybe now the spoiler thread would be a little less messy now. Just a little.
So, word on the street is, Mashima has visited NYCC. He has worked for 19 hours a day before it to give himself some time for this trip and not miss a chapter. He sure is in love with his work and but how comes he writes such horrible manga.
I really don't have a clue. The dedication and effort seems to be there yet the manga itself is so soulless.
