It's on a 5 month delay from America, but it's a tenner cheaper, so it's worth the wait

I have all the rest in Japanese. Just looks stupid buying them again so I can support Viz.

As PirateBeck said in the first post, Manga UK really do want One Piece, but Toei are asking for a lot for it.

But Shippuden and Soul Eater will be very interesting indeed.

Well, you may have noticed that Zach has made a One Piece Campaigns website for the TV broadcast. Well, we were working on advertising the UK one through that too but we haven't had a conversation in about two weeks so it's that put to a stop to my plans at the moment.
However, I have made a twitter acount and the two Facebook groups. Basically, the only thing that's stopping me from starting a new thread is a need a space to explain the situation in full, on a website. I could use mine but I need an original design for it. If I can't get things done with Zach, i'll try and create a whole new layout for my website so I have something in stone.

No I just wrote most the stuff and came up with the initial idea. Zach made the actual site and make it dedicated to any campaign in general, not just the one for television.

I would say so. Now we just need to raise awareness by adding more members.
I've asked the people i know who would actually be intrested so just waiting on them to reply. And the group seems fine.
I think once you have all the relevant sites sorted make a nice leaflet or something with the info and sites FB/Twitter/Podcast+campaign site can have people hand them out during the expo. I plan to go down this year so something i'd be willing to do for an hour or so. Could also possibly pay for some of the printing costs aswell. bound to be some cheap deals online.

Another would be to get a post typed up so people can copy paste into forums and also the usual linking sig aswell.
Well, it has been quite a while since I have discussed the possibility of One Piece receiving some kind of release in the United Kingdom, one that essentially has not happened due to the license for it. But fear not, for I have some news about the situation just in time for Christmas Day!
…okay, I admit, I have known this information for quite some time but I have had to keep on top of alot of things lately, such as coursework, school and keeping an active social life like any other normal teenager. Also, considering there are no UK conventions set between November and January, at least to the best of my knowledge, it wasn't even near the top of my to-do list. Regardless, I do have something to discuss.
While nothing has changed about the situation (Toei still wants to charge by the thousands for each and every single episode), Manga have thought about purchasing the rights to some of the movies, since some of the more recent films have been quite popular amongest the fanbase. Unfortunatly Toei, making another one of their masterstroke moves, would let manga release such masterpieces as Strong World... as long as they released the first nine movies beforehand in order of their original release.
Now, this wouldn't be as bad if we had a similair situation to countries like Germany and Italy (who have either started dubbing or already have dubbed those movies), but considering FUNimation has dubbed a grand total of one, the first 7 releases would have to be sub only and considering the type of series One Piece is, that is an extremely hard thing to mass market to the average UK citizen.
Now, it is worth mentioning that the movie licenses should be cheaper to purchase, meaning far less copies would have to be sold in order for the product to make a profit. Since Kazé (at least the German branch) have the rights to the movies, that could make a UK/European co-release alot easier, especially since Manga have worked with Kazé before. It also gives us two notable choices, rather than the possibility we had before. I do plan to start the campaign with a better established goal in the new year because the chances of some kind of release happening is growing bigger and what it needs is a real boost in terms of people who will buy the products and the company KNOWING that people will. So when I make the huge explaination thread explaining exactly what we'll need we do on New Years Day, you will need to spread it wide and far because it will crash and burn otherwise. And this time, I promise to start "One Piece in the UK: The Campaign"!
Oh and I asked what the position was on the fan favourite series Dragon Ball Z Kai. Well, I got a response in that Manga could probably purchase the rights… as long as they released the original series it was based on first. Make of that what you will.

It still boggles my mind that we haven't had a single Dragon Ball related release. Be it original, z, gt or kai.
And Dragon Ball was hugely popular over here for a while.
Toei licenses are expensive + core fans have long since imported from America.
The market simply isn't there now.
That no one did when it was ridiculously popular while sky were airing it in 2002 or whenever it was is more of a puzzle, but I'm guessing that's just toei again. We don't really have any companies with the kind of pull that funi or madman(both almost monopolies in their countries) have to get a good rate.
