As the title says, this is a simple hypothetical:
If One Piece were on television and aired from Episode 1, would you still watch it, would you watch it regularly, or would you not watch it at all. Answer as specifically as you can, especially if you wouldn't watch it.

Yes. I would definitely watch it, if I had cable TV or something. Sadly I only have local TV programming, but if I get to have the opportunity to watch it from episode 1 on TV I definitely would.

No, likely not. I own the first thirteen box sets (or have paid for them), and my schedule likely wouldn't allow for it as it is.

I'd tune in every now and then. Definitely not on a regular basis.
As long as I have cable. I wouldn't go out of my way to get cable, though if it did get a TV deal. Nor would I get a special channel if it only showed on a pay channel.

I would watch it if the dub was on adult swim on a somewhat regular basis and if it aired edited on Nicktoons I would still tune in here and there and wait to watch episodes not yet put on DVD.
Though I have every episode so far on dvd up to s2v5, I'd still watch it on dvd to support.

gotta agree with this, too. although, i'd check out my favorite arcs just to see the difference between the dub and the original. and definitely arcs centering around the dub actors i enjoy more than the ones who grate my ears; if it was airing dubbed.

Yeah, I'd watch it from the beginning if it was Funi's version. Again, though, it'd have to be on an easily accessible channel, but I'd try nonetheless. It's not like there's that much stuff worth watching on TV nowadays, at least for me. XD

If we are talking about american tv here, what are the actual chances that it will be in Japanese language?
When a kid is switching channels and find's One Piece on Nick and hear's it in Japanese, do you really think he is going to watch the show? No. He is just going to find it weird and then on Monday when school time comes he is going to make fun of it with all his friends.
So I'd say, just go with the dub. It is not like it is inaccurate at all. So that way if it did get new fans, they'd get the same feeling as watching the Japanese version!
I really want FUNi's version on T.V., it would help with uncut DVD sales even if it was edited. Plus if it's on a channel not a lot of people get it still might show up as official streaming.

I most definitely would watch the entire thing from start to finish. Well, it doesn't have a finish yet, but you get the idea. I wouldn't care if it were edited or not, either. In fact, it might be even more interesting to see it edited (albeit not to the extent that it was edited during its last television run with 4Kids).
I like the English dub because it's like it's the same story, but with slightly different bits here and there. It's like playing Pokemon Diamond and then playing Pokemon Pearl, and marveling at the small changes here and there. (That was the only half-decent example I could think of.) As Konata once said, it's like an entirely different story with the same exact plot and characters. At least I think she said that.

No, I wouldn't. As much as I love the anime and just about everything up through the end of Alabasta, everything from that point on is a little rough. I mean, if it aired Monday through Friday then maybe I would be more interested, but if it was once a week most of the appeal is lost.

If it was subbed. Unedited and with a GOOD translation. Then yes. Dub. No way.

For (A), I don't think they'd do that (4Kids doesn't own One Piece anymore, there's no real reason to change that) and for (B) it depends the network. The problem is, in order to reach new viewers it may have to air at least slightly edited.
Concerning your last point: there's no problem in watching the DVDs, but really all you have to do is put a half hour of One Piece in the background on your TV. It's free. You can even watch the DVD on your computer to compare and contrast as you watch.
I wouldn't watch it. I already have the DVDs, and it would kinda suck to have to watch a show and be interrupted by a bunch of commercial breaks, to watch a show that I can properly enjoy anytime I want to, in whatever language I feel like watching.
Heck no. What I would like is later episodes to be shown from the start. There's way too much episodes in this day of age to rerun from the beginning. Sides, there's DVDs for a recap.
I would like them to catch up fast. 2 episodes a day mon-fri for a whiile until they reach Arabasta at least. but either way hell yea I would watch it, I love the dub, and I also love how nick handles their shows, like DBZK, I like it, its edited but its great. would like it if it was uncut in adult swim though, since thats the only place it can be uncut I guess, or IFC channel where funi has a few anime???? but I would like it on nick along with dbzk

I would like to add that if you are worried about seeing One Piece get edited on TV, keep in mind that the Uncut DVDs will still be available, along with the online streaming. It honestly cannot get edited worse than when 4kids had the series. If you want to show your love for One Piece and intend on making it more of a success here, you are going to have to make a few sacrifices with the TV airing. Keeping the series limited to Uncut DVDs and streams is not only being selfish, but you are preventing giving the series more exposure and more fans. The biggest anime hits such as Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and Bleach do extremely well as they do because they have/had that TV exposure. Dragon Ball Z especially continues to be a big money maker, hence why Dragon Ball Z Kai has become one of Nicktoons' biggest hit shows, if not THE biggest. Doesn't One Piece deserve that same respect?
I would to support it. Of course it would be edited, but the exposure is what matters and I would give it my time for that reason. If I couldn't see an ep due to work, trip, etc, I would DVR. Long live One Piece and the dream for it to become popular here. I do get joy when a kid sees my Luffy keychain and knows who he is or shows interest. I want more of that. Oda created the series to be liked by people so I would like to see it on TV and for more people to experience it's greatness.

I would for 2 reasons; one, because I love one piece. And two, so the ratings would be high enough to keep it on tv!

As much as I would love to say I would watch it, I probably wouldn't. I've already seen all the episodes from the beginning of the series to the beginning of Enies Lobby and I'd only really want to watch Davy Back Fight, Water 7, and Enies Lobby on TV.
