I guess only time will tell if Dragon saved Sabo like a lot of us are speculating. Was there a cover story this time around or does Oda skip those when he puts up a 2-page spread (I always love those)?

I seriously believe Sabo is NOT dead. Far from it.
What is the point of Oda, after such a long time in the series, finally showing us a real time death to only drown it with a flashback death RIGHT after? Why even go through the trouble of declaring Sabo as a 3rd brother instead of a good friend? For character development? Ya know what…fuck that...it does't even matter.
Why would Oda set up the meeting between Sabo and Dragon and show how Dragon was truly affected by what Sabo was going through...? He could have gotten Sabo killed and cause the same effect on Ace and Luffy without all the extra shit...it just seems Oda has involved Sabo way too much for him to be killed off now.
Why would Oda create this scene to leave us guessing like this...if he wanted us to know Sabo is dead then he would give us indisputable evidence of such...unless he is going to the next chapter. We can't really argue about this until the flashback is OVER
If Oda were asked if Sabo is dead…no matter what answer he may give...we will know the truth. If Sabo was meant to be dead then he would confirm it...otherwise him not wanting to comment on that most likely means he isn't dead.
The important part is that Luffy and Ace believe he is dead…and as we can see with the chapter release...that is exactly the case.
All this talk about Sabo being dead robs this and robs that...bullshit...Sabo dying robs Ace's death and Luffy's lamentation of it...how bout' that?

I wonder if Oda is taking extra time with his family. I guess it could be the reason for the brakes.
One Piece might end in 15 years. We might not see the end if the world economy melts down before.

Good call indeed on the tattoo S. It seems like he started writing on the wrong place on the envelope, realized it, and then crossed it out.
But didn't Oda say that the tattoo artist just screwed up? Retcon?

Sabo is definitely alive; probably in the New World or with Dragon. Either way, he is going to have to meet up with Luffy at some point. I hope they get to fight together as brothers one day.
Also, Oda gave us some foreshadowing after the fact in this chapter. Due to Roger's blood, Ace just can't help himself from jumping in front of his friends to save them, even in the face of an enemy far too great.

Great chapter.
Based on reading the chapter, I really believe that Sabo is still alive and will appear in the storyline later in the series.
Personally, I think it will be a long time before he is mentioned again.
I think the million dollar question is are we done with the flashback? The only looming question is why is the Celestial Dragon in the Goa Kingdom but is that really all that important to know?

Sabo becomes a stowaway on the World Noble's ship and gets a free ticket to Grand Line.
Not just Grand Line, but he's in a perfect position to enter the New World, since Mariejoa is on the borderline.

Ace and Luffy believe Sabo is dead, that describes why they weren
t talking about him while Ace was dieing..also why they wasnt searching for him..
but we as readers didnt see his death..just that his hsip was broken.. its like the perfect set up for Sabo to be introduced in the story once more as an adult, which survived all these years without anybody knowing cause he never wanted to come back to Gao Kingdom.iam still rly sure that he will be in Dragon
s team, but still it is curious why Sabo himself never met Ace or Luffy after they were famous for their actions..(i mean not noticing Ace being 2nd division commander or the WAR!!) mhh here oda has to give us a good reason why Sabo wasnt showing up till the moment we will see him again..(when we will see him:happy: and iam not completely mistaken) -

But something different… I really love how Oda explained why Ace didn't run and how similar he and Roger were.
But one MAJOR difference... Garp stated Roger defeated armies of whole countries... Ace was killed

Luffy making the beetles fight is such a kids thing to do. That was my favorite part.
Very nice to hear about Roger and his ways again along with Ace eating his own words and crying like a baby.
