Aha! I knew i wasn't imagining things.
This thread does exist.Anyways, i've recently started to transition in my amv making preferences.
" for gypsy.)
I got myself Sony Vegas 7, started trying to add a 'flow' to my videos & improve my clip cutting, etc.
I've grown out of the generic action montages i used to make, and now i want to start adding some substance.
(i got a good taste of it when i made "Because finding subless anime episodes is a pain in the ass,
i've been drawn into the idea of using quirky english language shows as an alternative. (in this case MLP)
So as a result, my last 4 full amvs have been MLP related.
I still feel like i'm improving though, as the quirkiness & variety of the show allows for imagination when it comes to lyric & concept matching.^ The first video i made in Sony Vegas 7, and also my first MLP video.
I was going through a Wu-Tang phase and wanted to try making a video for one of their tracks. In real life i was doing work experience at the time,
and because it was only garden work at a care home i had permission to listen to my ipod while i worked.
I put this track on repeat while i was working for 3 days,
and always tried to visualize which rapper's verse matched up to which character's scenes.A lot of thought went into it, and i'm genuinely surprised i didn't make myself sick of the track after repeating it so much.
The creation of the video itself was also a lot of fun. (especially the Fluttershy/ODB part XD)This one is purely focused on the Discord episodes, with a song that i thought was perfectly suited.
I also think the calls of "falling" fit really well with the color changes.
This is the video i think had the most flow, because it told the chronological visual story of the episodes. This one was so much fun to make…
Nothing much to say about this one. Just a lighthearted montage of Dash and Pinkie doing their thing alongside some Bloodhound Gang noise.
Fuck yeah.^ My very latest video, and the one that took the most effort.
Not only is it my longest ever amv, but it's also my first time focusing on an individual character.
(which meant a dramatic reduction in possible clip selection)
I liked my concept though, and i wanted to see it get made. When i first thought of this combination i was hoping to draw a connection between the mentally insecure twilight and the frustrated eminem,
to show the other side of her in a way that not many amv makers are going for.Considering the size of the task i took on, and my low level of skill, i think that the vid turned out pretty well.

New one.
I really enjoyed making it. -
Fluttershy

An amv I made about Luffy's sheer determination.
Hopefully you guys like it

Pretty nice dude. No real complaints, except that the really good AMVs are usually a bit more action oriented with better choreography; it gives the dialogue a purpose and meaning. In particular, it lacked real highlights that gripped me, so I can't really call it super engaging.
Quality was great however.

i think you guys have gotten your threads mixed up XD

Quite proud of this one, just because i successfully tried something different.
I've always liked this track, so i was adequately motivated while putting it together.Fuck youtube though, it always takes away a few frames of sync from my vids.
