Probably already mentioned in the PS3 thread but since no one made a thread for it.

The game follows the events of Infamous with Cole MacGrath as the main protagonist once again. The game will take place in a new city called New Marais, a New Orleans inspired city, and will involve Cole going against the Beast.The game begins with Cole fighting the Beast and barely escaping with his life. He, along with his friend Zeke, flee to New Marais and prepare for Cole's inevitable encounter with the Beast while combating The Militia, a shadowy group led by a man named Bertrand. The Militia has taken over New Marais in an attempt to keep all super powered or abnormal things away and do not take a liking to Cole. Cole will combat the Militia, explore New Mariais, and learn about himself, Kessler, and The First Sons along the way.

In case anyone is wondering, no that is not an artists interpretation of what Cole looks like, that IS what Cole looks like now. The development team completely redesigned him to look and be more like a hero cause they felt players didn't relate with Cole in the first game.

The story in inFamous was awesome and this game completely disregards the ending and throws many elements of the first game out the window. I've raged enough about what they did to this game (cause really making Cole look and act more like a douchebag will really increase sales).

As for Prototype and Infamous, well, there are some similarities but some fundamental differences. What did you not like about Protoype (that can help me decide if you'd like Infamous or not). Prototype has more upgrades and cooler looking powers but infamous is much better (but very short).

not liking Cole's change to be honest. Unless this is son of cole. first one looked more badass.

I hope this game has stuff to do outside of missions. That's where the first one failed for me. Aside from the main missions and side missions it was just collecting shards. Boring.

I prefered inFamous over Prototype because I had more fun doing super hero stuff as electric man. I mean who doesn't have fun playing chicken with trains.

And while getting to play as John Carpenters "The Thing" was still fun, I just couldn't buy into this guy being the hero (though being able to turn into the Guyver was all kinds of fun… maybe they should have just made an open world Guyver game.)

Prototype was overtly generic, and the entire game revolved around protecting something. Also, the enemies were far too overpowered.

What didn't you like about Prototype?
inFamous has a better story and sandbox if that's what you're worried about.

inFamous has its own personality and comic book artstyle. I don't think its generic at all, at least if you don't include the combat.
Its well worth the $30 you can buy it for, IMO

I just bought inFamous yesterday, and so far I really like it, except for Trish. She really needs to shut up and at least let Cole explain how things aren't really his fault.

Other than that, I like playing as a white Static Shock and blasting goonies.

I have the best theory for this game….but I know it won't come true and it would explain a LOT of the reasons why Cole is different in this game:

END GAME SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST GAME!

! Have the plot twist in this game be that this is actually a PREQUEL and you are playing as the Kessler!Cole. This would explain the changes in the game, why you are in a different city, and why Cole is different and has more expanded powers. The ending of the game would have you go back in time to "fix" the past to make Cole a hero with nothing to tie him down and you would know who the Beast was from this game since Kessler's family died from him

Unfortunately they probably will just ignore the first game outright.

Thing is they've already gave an explanation to some of that stuff.

Cole is in Las Marais because it was where the First Sons was founded & where the Ray Sphere was created and to prepare for the Beast whose making his way there to finish their initial fight.

Cole changes appearance wise have to do with no one on and off the develpment team liking the old design very much.

Heh, reminds me of when I saw the trailer on youtube and some of the commenters were convinced that he wasn't Cole due to the fact that he didn't look or sound like Cole XD

Personally, when I first heard they changed his character so players could "connect and relate to him", I thought it was a lousy idea. It's not like I really wanted to relate to a character in a video game, but after seeing the trailer, I can see how they changed things for the better.

I actually appreciated the black-and-whiteness of the game. Acting ambiguously in that kind of game just makes it so the public doesn't know what to think of you, and that would make writing for it tricky. I understand how sophomoric that sounds, but I'm still looking forward to playing through the game twice for the exact reasons you are no longer interested.

I always thought the blatant evil/good choices removed all the fun in choosing in the first place.
You couldn't even mix and match good and evil choices, since it was clear from the start that the most advantageous thing to do was to pick a side and stick with it.

I also didn't think there was a big difference in gameplay or story between the two, but it does look like that may be fixed this time around.

! As far as I remember, the only evil choice I remember doing was saving the girlfriend instead of the five doctors. Makes it all the more tragic in the end.

It's $100 in the USA. Also a choice between a good or evil cover. Reminds me of the God of War 3 special edition from last year. I'd get it if it was, say, $70 and it only had the DLC and soundtrack. But $100 is too much.

Maybe for some people. I just don't want a figurine and a backpack, and I don't want to pay $100. If they cut some of it and it was only $70, I'd buy it. I just hope that I won't permanently miss out on the DLC. For the first inFamous they had some preorder DLC that was available to all for free about six months after the game came out. Maybe it'll go the same way this time.

I'll definitely snatch it up if it drops in price (like to around $70). This actually is common for limited editions, as they're actually not as "limited" as they make them sound.

^ Some editions of some games really are "limited" though so it's not as much of throwaway term that gamers think publisher's use to trick gamer's into throwing away an extra 10-30 dollars on something that everybody will be able to buy.

Apparently there's gonna be the ability to make User-Created content in this. Sounds nice.

Kinda tempted to get it now….well. Once it gets a bit cheaper that is.

Dunno how I forgot to post it here, but there's a new trailer that shows off a lot of the good and evil abilities. You can really tell that Nix and Kuo are the metaphorical devil and angel on each of Cole's shoulders, heh. Kuo looks a lot better without her boxy suit on, too.

Adaptable but all in all they could've slowed Cole down a bit or added a modifier.

Got my copy earlier today.

I love this game so far.

Fight off the back, it looks fantastic.

I prefer Cole's new voice.

New Marais looks fantastic.

Cole does indeed move pretty quickly, but I don't mind. New Marais is big and it could take a while to get around if he was too slow.

I seem to be dying incredibly quickly though and I'm only on Medium difficulty.

Also, I'll go to stop a mugging and when I melee, Cole will sometimes attack the citizen. Not too much of a problem as it doesn't kill them.

! Carrier Pigeons are the new Dead Drops? lol

I'm really enjoying this game a lot so far, and I'll post more later.

I'm a little more than halfway done now. I have 36/60 side missions complete, have ice powers, and I'm on the second island (flood city).

I just got my third Blast Core, but haven't used it yet. Game's great so far, New Marais is really fun to bounce around in, and I love the sidequests with pigeons, the shard bombs, and street performers. Game has a better idea of what it's doing now, compared to inFamous 1. Looking forward to finishing it sometime this week.
