3D DOT GAME HEROES! (Or….The Legend of Zelda PS3)

WHY isn't there a topic on this game? I picked it up yesterday after much hesitation and have yet to put it down. It's like Okami and Little King's Story. Should be illegal to NOT play this game.

Basically it's a throwback to the golden age of gaming. You embark on a Legend of Zelda quest across vast landscapes and mysterious dungeons to save Dotnia from a legendary evil.

The game pretty much plays as Zelda with similar items (Boomerang, Hookshot, Bow and Arrow, Bombs etc.) and similar style of landscape and dungeons of the Nes classic. However there are plenty of throwbacks to other classic games.

A Man complains about his Demon game being far too hard (Demon's Souls)
Another Man cannot decide between his childhood sweetheart and the daughter of a rich man (DQV)
A fortune teller sister waiting on a hero and complains about her other sister spending money. (DQIV)
Dic the Inventor (Cid spelt backwards)

And the best part.

You can actually create your own hero from the ground up and play as them. You design your own 3D 8-bit hero and play as them. I made Chopper.

But yeah. Seriously. You NEED to play this game.

Looks pretty cool and nostalgic and I'll def would play that if I had a PS3.

That's one of the games I really regret "just" owning a Wii (though I haven't time to play with consoles anyway lol)

I want this game, wish I had enough money to get a PS3. Missing out on Uncharted 2, GOW3, Modnation Racers and future games like KZ3.

25 seconds for block circuit is almost too lenient. Got the small block on my second or third attempt. At least make it 22.5, make'em sweat it out just a little.

Now Capcom, make like Atlus and finally fix or adjust the #1 Nom de Guerre in LBP2, thank you.

While I admit that 25 is a little too lenient and a slap in the face for people who did it for only messing up once, I think it's the perfect time for a trophy-related challenge.

Anything under 23 is best left for online ranking bragging rights.

There was no way I was getting that anytime soon. I spent two hours on it and the least I could get was messing up 2 times.

I bought this game couple of days ago and I really love it so far. Having trouble trying to make a good custom character.

I wanted to get this game but it fell in between other purchases. Before it was bioshock 2, heavy rain and god of war 3 and after it was red dead mario galaxy 2 and peace walker. Now that the 2010 holiday season has rolled around I don't think I'll be able to afford it for another few months unless I can find it cheap.

Also can you tell how long the game is and the time it takes to get the platinum trophy.

I fucking FLOORED it through the game in 6 hours in From Mode and 8 hours in Spelunker Mode which means if you SERIOUSLY cut corners and pay NO regard to items or Temple Maps, it can be done in 4-5 hours on Normal Mode.

As for how long my FIRST run through the game was, about 30 hours completing all but one goddamn quest.

The shortest playthroughs for Plat. are THREE but that first playthrough would have to be a fucking whore and NOT enjoyable AT ALL.

So while Plat. can be done in about 40-50 hours, I'd say for a relaxing/enjoyable Plat, 60-70 at 4 playthroughs is where it's at.

I've got 4 trophies left. Beat From Mode last night. Ones left are:

All Swords

Flawless (don't die)

Survivor (I already beat Spelunker Mode but I've gotta leave the game on for two hours or something while I'm out to clear the 10)

Giga Sword Upgraded (Just a matter for farming in Spelunker Mode)

I'm starting to lose the enjoyment because of TEARING ASS through Spelunker and From Mode but the final run in normal should be nice. Personally, would have been a little more nice if they gave you the From trophy for clearing Spelunker Mode but since the two modes are obviously very different I understand why.
