...Regardless, I'm having a hard time deciding whether the title will be:

"Luffy and Ace", because of how the volume will (more or less) end during the flashback,
"The Great Pirate Edward Newgate", because he dies, or
"End of the War", because the war ends in this volume.

As for the cover, it's gonna have characters revolving around it, with Luffy holding Ace in the center...

dunno, i just think if Ace and Luffy are both children on the cover, Sabo would be with them.
Yeah, Sabo is on the next one for sure. that could be the reason why this one´s theme is still the war but i just don´t believe it´s the dying Ace. maybe a big shot of Ace then.

This. Duh. And not just the changing era, but the actual transfer of power from **W**B to **B**B.
Where are people getting red from? Ace received his killing blow in 58. He's dead after the first chapter in 59, so the majority of 59 is all about Blackbeard killing Whitebeard.

58 = 1/2 white, 1/2 black
59 = ??????

I feel like I've seen this question before, possibly on an exam in kindergarden.

Volume 59 will just have 17 page chapters and even some 15 pagers, so I think we can rule out the idea of the volume having only 9 chapters.

This one is so hard to predict. It depends on what perspective Oda wants to tackle this volume from. From Luffy's perspective, the most important event is obviously the death of his brother, but from the perspective of the One Piece world, Whitebeard's death and Blackbeard's ascension that end the war and start the new Era are far more important.

I think Oda will go with the latter for now and put Blackbeard (perhaps pops too) on the cover. Since the next volume (60) will contain the flashback, Ace can wait to be on the cover until then.

Getting the actual volumes for 55-58 this weekend, I noticed a pattern regarding the covers aside from the "shifting white to black"

57: Whitebeard Pirates Logo behind the OP logo
58: Marine Logo behind OP logo

So if we follow that stream of logic as well as the shifting color, then:

59: Blackbeard Pirates Logo behind OP logo (which means it will probably end up being a pic with the new BB pirates if Oda goes along with that…unless he fools us and does the Red Hair Pirates instead)

It's got to be BB pirates, Big BB, his crew as the WB commanders (but with colors), Ace and Luffy Front.

Luffy will be bloody, beaten up, and holding Ace as he dies. If you notice, the trend has actually been going since volume 56 when Luffy first got the yellow shirt. He was unharmed on that cover; On 57 he was kind of a little beaten up; On 58 he had more serious wounds; 59 he'll be completely worn out and beaten up.

There's also another interesting trend….

Every cover since volume 51 has focused on Luffy and only a single group from the War. There were very, very rarely any exceptions to this; Rayleigh appearaed on volume 52 and the Demon Guards appeared on volume 55. Other than that, this trend has continued.

I suppose this leaves ....

Volume 59: Luffy and the Blackbeard Pirates

As there were exceptions in the past, I think Whitebeard will appear on the cover since his death won't be ignored; One last chance to put WB on the cover won't be missed; Shanks, Koby, and Sengoku also played a prominent role....Koby's isn't that related to Blackbeard though. At least we know Shanks was there to stop Blackbeard, Sengoku fought Blackbeard, and was the third major player in the war (WB and BB being the other two).

I could definitely see Blackbeard, the new BB Pirates, Luffy, Ace, Whitebeard....if there's room Sengoku and / or Shanks.
