So hoping for the best and assuming Funi has already been dubbing Season 4, what are they going to do once they reach episodes 279-283? Are they really going to have 5 out of 13 episodes be a recap - I would be extremely disappointed if that was the case.

They should either skip those episodes like the Japanese version did and include the Straw Hat Theater shorts on the set as Extras, or make that one set the only set with 17 episodes.

well if they don't get a lot more revenue from it, which they're not getting a lot of as it is, its very probable that they'd take a long leave of simply not dubbing it or even drop it altogether. i dont think they're at that point yet, but its not impossible

I don't see how they aren't rolling in ad revenue.

One Piece is DEFINITELY successful online, as it's Number 6 or so in Animation on Hulu and Toonzaki had it at Number 1 for a while.

The DVDs have been doing fantastic as well, I believe.

How do you know this? Other than Amazon ranking, I've never seen any real sales figures. If we could see some figurea maybe wed hve something to go on.

One Piece has definitely gotten more popular since its mid-2008 slump thanks to its cancellation. Largely in part due to manga sales and the speedup, granted, but I'm sure DVD sales have been on the rise.

I'd be remiss if I didn't mention this. There's a deal for season three discs on amazon right now from "media market." About $16 (with shipping) for at least voyage one and two. The catch? No box apparently.

For me that's a deal breaker, but hey, I don't want anyone to miss a good deal if you can live without a box. It's under the used selection.

and the people on the One Piece podcast frequently bring that issue up. I'm not sure where they get their sources, however. But it does please me a lot to hear its doing well. No, I'm afraid I haven't seen where it stands on online shipping sites. Haha the podcast sent out a call to buy the dvds this holiday season and it seems that's been exactly whats going on. sweet

I reread, and I got the joke. Sorry about that. When I am on forums I am doing things as fast as possible, running multiple tabs, and reading subtitles at the same time. I can usually read multiple things at once on different lines but at times my comprehension goes down due to this.

Back on topic. For those who are getting ready to purchase the first season of One Piece, I recommend purchasing them under 15 Brand new. The first and second voyage can get as low as $8-10, while the 3 voyage with Arlong is around $14.

My knowledge of grammar and vocabulary is pretty good. When typing on forums I am trying to type extremely fast. No proofreading. Sorry if this annoys anyone.

I started enjoying One Piece and while watching videos on youtube I kept hearing spoilers. I was right before Sky Island's scene with Usopp and his spell.
I saw the pics of all the strawhats standing at Enies Lobby, including Usopp.
Since I was at the Sky island arc, I didn't recognize him. I was thinking,
"Oh lord, I hope that didn't get some Indian magician." I saw the Kuboto, mask, and cape and didn't recognize Usopp.

Sadly, all that is true.

In what regard? They acknowledge that it exists, people were unhappy about the way it turned out, that they were told to carry over some terms initially, and that's about it. They aren't going to trash 4Kids, that's unprofessional for them as a company, and they have friends from NY production that they don't want to offend.

It's called "Funimation's video channel being really laggy in general". Try Hulu or Toonzaki.

If your buying their stuff there is a more likely chance that they will continue to dub. The reason they dub One Piece and put the DVD's out is because it makes them money. If they are not making money, they will not dub it. So Yea….buy that shit.

well i own all of the sets so far & have s3v4 preordered, so the only set i'd be holding off on is s3v5.

If someone goes, ask them if they will be dubbing season 4 or dropping the series. That way we can have a straightforward answer from Funi and stop all this stupid pessimistic speculation with no basis in any fact, save for the fact that a set hasn't been announced at least 3 months before it would come out.
