To be fair, Transformers was a cartoon before it was a movie, so that's a different case.

Surely you understand that there's difference between a movie adaption of a cartoon series and a cartoon series adaption of a movie. No matter which comes first it always sets the standards for the fandom it creates.
I must admit though that I have no idea what came first for MiB, the movie or the cartoon series so I might be using that one series incorrectly here. But the point should still stand.

Some of the moral ones were pretty good though, McGruder just started being a lot less subtle. Especially seeing as how some of the people who needed to hear and understand it cough black people cough didn't even get the point of the Martin Luther King jr. episode.

As long as Kim is one of the storyboard artist, this will be entertaining to watch. I don't understand the whole comparison with Boondocks that was bought up in this topic though. Different source material. Different writers. Different show.
The Black Dynamite movie itself has enough to warrent an animated series. Druglords, Kung Fu, Kung Fu Island, corrupted authority, messed up main-cast kill offs, randomness…. The only element that may go missing is the oldschool camera style. The music could make up for it however.

Fantastic. I can see Kim's story-boarding style in several shots but it's seems like a completely different animation studio than the one that did Boondocks. Sweet stuff.
The shading style is like a comic book. Reminds me of Dead Leaves, only smoother. I doubt every episode would look like this, but hell... Fucking sweet. I can't wait for more.
As for the plot, it's kinda of a downer... Especially for a pilot ep. I was hoping to see a villain from the movie, but I guess I can wait.

if I recall that started with Frank, but as like a stinky old man sat all alone and shiz or something.

One does not simply have an Osmosis Jones without a Thrax. -
With Thrax being killed off in the movie having him in the series in spite of that wouldve been like having Jafar in the Aladdin TV series in spite him and his lamp being destroyed in ROTJ. Though when it boils down to it the Osmosis Jones series was largely unnecessary.
