@Kairouseki:
You know, after listening to it a few times it reminds me of Berserk's opening. At least the beginning.
Is that a good thing?
@Kairouseki:
You do realize that the Japanese don't really collect the volumes like Americans do right? And since this is the anime forums I'm sure a lot of people here haven't read the arc.
Blanket statement about "the Japanese" = FALSE.
Do a little research and see how many One Piece tankobon have been sold. Publishing records have been broken.
Just for funsies I adapted OP 13 into English. Meaning you can now sing along in English! And it all fits! yaya!
Anyway, check it out. Be sure to keep the annotations on. Lyrics are also in the description, if you want to be able to anticipate the next line.

Wow very nice translation. Really captures the feelings involved. Thanks for sharing it!
TLC, you were looking for a good sad-song, correct?
How about this:
numCZoBFcv4
Or does everyone here hate The Offspring too?
Seriously, you can't judge people based on the music they listen to. Just because you don't like a band doesn't make it wrong for someone else to, and trying to insult someone based off of their musical tastes makes you an ignorant hick. Music is appreciative listening, we all like different styles of music, just like we all like different styles of food. Would you go around using someone's taste in food as an arguement against them? No. So why with music? For instance, I don't like country music, but when I debate, and I know my opponent likes country music, am I going to bring that up to as evidence against him/her? No, because all it does is make me look like a dumbass.
So you don't like Blink, big deal. ENough people do, that's why they have been successful in the music industry.
And, for the record, I'm impartial on Blink; I like Stay Together for the Kids and a few other songs, but I also dislike some of the songs, so I don't care either way.
Don't like a thing about it, sadly. This includes the animation and the music. Took me 24 hours to come to this conclusion.
Okay, that's it.
I went to Rudiments 2(theory for music) class today and I couldn't get "One Day" out of my head. If this keeps up, it's going to start mucking up my summer school grades.

That's a bummer. I really love it.

Well its just deserts for filling our heads with the image, which now can't be unseen, of the word Love in the ruins.
Just think of it as the soundtrack of your summer this year.

Thanks! It's nice to know someone other than me enjoyed it.

Blame my eye.

At least you don't hate it.
just watched it and that was fucking awesome, i like them showing all the big characters in the war with such great animation really want to start watching the anime again
Yeah, it wouldn't.
Curious, but has your opinion of the new opening changed since then?
At least you don't hate it.
Sometimes indifference is even worse than one of the extremes.
I listened to the opening again a few days later. At first I was nervous about it, since I thought it wouldn't have fit with the hectic war theme going on.
Going back, I find this opening very good and pleasing. I'm glad that the animation team made such a bold move.
that is a One Piece opening.
If you disagree you have no idea what the arc or OP is about.
Bash the melody/singer all you want. They deserve bashing as 'Generic Whiney Male Faceless JPop Trash'. But the lyrics are rock solid and the animation is bloody awesome.
If this was any other arc I'd probably be upin arms but this is exactly the kind of opening the arc deserves.
Awesome.

(sigh) It's good to have you visit. A voice of reason in the wilderness (more or less)

Amen to that.
Now let's just see if Buuhan was right:
I'm gonna seriously lol if Greg comes in here, states his opinion, and suddenly everyone changes their opinion to match his. Just say nothing, Greg. Just say nothing…
I find I'm not big on lyrical content in a language I have no sense for.
Bein' that One Piece has a huge international following I think the over all "tone" of the tune is most important, but given that we shouldn't be too cheery just getting out of Impel Down and still missing the crew it does work.

I missed you .
We all do, Zach. We all do.

You're obviously not understanding what I'm saying. I'm saying that in Japan it's not all that common for someone to buy a OP volume, read it, and put in on a shelf to be preserved, which seems to be the norm in the US.
I could be completely wrong but until Greg or someone else knowledgeable about Japan says something that's what I've seen.
Yeah, it wouldn't.
Curious, but has your opinion of the new opening changed since then?
Nope. Watched it again just to be sure.

OP 13 is still bland, regardless of the fitting lyrics, OP 12 was catchy and fun, just like every other good One Piece OP

should have told him, "you're loss".

Catchy and fun during an arc that was dark and serious.

CP9 was hardly a arc full of lollipops, but it had Brand New World
Its not like the War got a 180 loop when it comes to what One Piece is about, there's a reason why Buggy was there

that's because no one died in cp9.
@Joe:
! that's because no one died in cp9.
You should spoiler that
And it doesn't matter, the 12th theme still gives the overall message of the whole series, besides, that doesn't happen till the end

If catchy and fun means wanting to rip my ears off, then sure.
I actually love this opening. It manged to beat Brand New World as my favorite opening.
Give it up guys, SGRaaize is a lost cause.
Hardly a lost cause
I find the New Opening bland
I find OP 12 catchy
The lost cause is using proof to convince me otherwise
I'd rather we just put opening 12 behind us and forget it ever happened really…
So about how long does it take for a full version to come out?
Bash the melody/singer all you want.
Okay! It was an incredibly bland song with little redeeming value.
I didn't find it THAT bad, but it could've been better. But at least I won't be seeing Kaze wo Sagashite anymore.
i liked it the tone was good for this part of the story.
The more I hear it, the more of an earworm it's turing out to be for me. I really like it a lot.
LOL at anyone comparing this and OP12.
No really.
You lose at life.
and by the way
! Brave New World is average at best.
! OH NO HE DINNT!!!!!!

wats brave new world
I like One Day and Kaze wo Sagashite. While they're both catchy, I think Kaze wo Sagashite is catchier. They both still don't beat Share the World, though…
I really like Brand New World, but i don't know if it would be so loved if they used for like 40 episodes.
..and if its replacement wasn't so badly received at the time. Kinda like how Kaze wo Sagashite seems to have raised the popularity of Share the World.
