.. I need to get off my lazy ass and get to work on Spandam. That one Spandam cosplayer resparked it in me. Just wish I knew how I should go about that mask. Wish I know how that one was made, since it's such a nice job. The rest of the outfit'll be super easy.
-
@fin:
I cosplay Nami a lot. <3 I try to go for a more realistic look of what I think she'd look like if she were real, so I just do a pretty average looking orangey-red hair color thing as opposed to the usual fun neon orange. ^^. Comes out way too dark in indoor pictures, though, I've noticed.
Here's the recent ones…
And the old ones.
Dorkiest picture ever O_o.
Yeah, that old costume… was pretty bad, but it was the first anime one I ever made. XD
WHOA! How do you guys make ur costumes!? Dude, I went T-O-Ting last night being Nami but my style is NOTHING compared to ur's!!! Awesome constume BTW wish I could have it, you make a great Nami.
I'm not even gonna bother searching this rather long thread, but does anyone cosplay Sanji? (from any season?)
-
I also cosplayed as Davy Back Fight Nami, but I like my Chopper costume much better.
-
I know how you might've made the pants, but how did you do the shirt and climatact?
-

@Sanji's:
I know how you might've made the pants, but how did you do the shirt and climatact?
I tried to sew the letters 'gold' on the shirt but i bought crappy fabric so I ended up holding the letters on with fabric paint.
I had a friend of mine make me the climatact. It's really neat because it actually comes apart with screws.
The kiba is my group is my friend Galyon.
Irresistiblement, did you cosplay at Metrocon.

Pics of me at AWA.
Two of me as Raki.. I hate the pose in the first one, but the Dial on my other shoe fell off T_T
Two of me as Pandaman. First one with a Nami and Usopp I met at the con, and the second with Nami and Usopp plus my Hometown Anime Club as Sanji, Zoro, and Luffy. Funny how things worked out like that.

Ah random side note and a request for help.
I like the blue in your hair =D
and NAMI cosplayers….. anyone feel like giving me some nice helpful hints on how you did Arabasta Nami/ Nami's clima tact / log pose.
thanks~
-
They Galley-la (hurray Italian cosplayers! I know a few!) Chopper, and Raki cosplays kick ass! Keep postin' pictures!
Funky, I just sent you a PM with the skirt instructions, just let me know if they're confusing. The climatact, I used PVS piping, which is less than two dollars from Home Depot. I'm going to be remaking mine soon to be able to be pieced together…so if I do figure it out, I'll let you know..
As for the logpose...My first one was a gumball stuck to a cuff XD! Since then I've made two others..and I'm gonna have to do a fourth, because the string snapped inside my most recent one >.< Basically, go to a craft store like Micheal's or AC Moore. They sell these plastic balls, meant to be ornaments, that snap apart into two halves In my AC Moore it was near their bridal stuff, but with Christmas coming up, they might move it to an ornament section. While you're there, head to the wood section. Look for their toy wood wheels, and find one that fits as a base for the plastic ball you chose. (For mine, it had a hubcap that needed to be drilled smooth, luckily my friend's dad had the tools.) Finally, get some clear thread or string, and if you don't already have at home, a strong glue, a red marker, and white paper or cardboard.
One you have everything, making it is pretty simple. Cut out a compass diamond from the cardboard, color one end red. Thread (with a needle if you have to) the clear string through the compass diamond, then knot it in the middle right below the diamond, so that the compass sits on the knot. (You can do it above it too, if you want it to stay extra well) Remove the nub from the top of the plastic ball. Then snap it together so that the thread is postioned exactly as you want it, with the diamond in the middle. Tie off and snip the ends, applying a little glue for extra security. (Be very careful when you do this - I was a bit careful with the second one, and it eventually snapped.) After adding any markings you want to the base, glue it!
It's up to you what you wanna do for the strap. I currently have a piece of leather, but I'm looking for something that might be a color. If anyone has any ideas, let me know.
And here is a crappy cellphone picture of my current, broken logpose ;-; We'd all die on the Grand Line.
I've heard of people doing it with glass, and I'm considering making one like that too - but I wouldn't wear it for general farting around at a con. If there's one thing I've learned about having a bubble on your wrist is that it hits things x_x If mine had been glass I would have probably remade it 10 times by now and have numerous glass cuts on my wrist. If anyone does do it with glass - BE CAREFUL!
-
Ah thanks lots! I PMd you about that.. XD
sad thing is when ever you american people tell me where to get stuff… we don't have those stores in England.. ^^' and terms are a little diffrent.. I think I have an idea of what I need to do.
Thankies again~
EDIT: you got aim? =3
-
If you need to (and this goes for anyone!) I will gladly mail the plastic ball, they're DIRT cheap at my AC Moore. I know what a pain in the ass it is trying to find some of these supplies.
If anyone needs any clarification on anything, let me know! And Funky, yes, I have AIM! I'm actually going to be going out in a few minutes, but I'll PM you it when I'm back!
-
Ah yeah I might need a plastic ball or two in case I mess up! I found summit in my room thats KINDA it but all messed up and too oddly shaped..
-
Awesome guys! I wanna try to make a sogeking or chopper one.
-
Hey Cactuar_Tamer, how did you make your Laki costume? Did you use a pattern?
-
I have pics from London Expo 06~ sadly the camera crapped out and we only got 2…
ANYWAY...

Cool I should do that next year.
fin fish: Hell no it was not crappy it's really good! I wish I could have it. I SUCK at making costumes. >.>
How do you guys attend these cons? There's never located near me. >.>
-
Hey Cactuar_Tamer, how did you make your Laki costume? Did you use a pattern?
I have a basic pattern sloper I use for most all cosplay ^_^ It's super-useful.
For Raki, I tweaked it until it looked like her shirt (added a front-closure, made the armholes bigger a bit, and deepened the neckline) – the top doesn't actually button, I used a hidden closure 'cause I suck at buttonholes
For the sleeves I just measured my arm circumference and played around with the legnth of the strips until they fit correctly.
The wings are machine-quilted. Her wings have a different pattern on the front and the back, so I made them seperately and whipstiched them together around a dowel frame. They're just sewn onto the back of the shirt. (I actually commissioned the quilt-work itself)
**Be careful with these. The first time I made them, I used uberishly thin dowels for the frame. And forgot I had several extra inches to account for whilst traipsing around the con.For the pants I did buy a pants pattern. I basically just cut them in half to make the sides and added the straps afterwards. I was lucky enough to find a good fabric that doesn't ravel so I didn't need to worry at all about making fringe.
The rifle is carved out of balsa. and the shield is made of cardboard covered with batting and fabric. The design is painted on, and the feathers are made out of foam.

Crap, I wish I could cosplay. 6__6 You guys totally rock in here…
