Came across an interesting site on Google Trends/Insights.
It searched for the terms "terrorism" and "counter terrorism" and used Google Insights to analyze where the searches were coming from in the world.
And lol it found this:
Don't let that fool you into thinking that you know where the terrorists are!! It is not conclusive, though it IS interesting.

while i do not deny that i have searched for terrorsim a number of times (mostly for research purposes). but i don't agree with its authenticity.

afghanistan has a total of around 1,200 internet subscribers. and they alone are dominating the world search? seriously?
you can never trust stats too much. even if they are from google :)
I think I saw a video about this somewhere, some decent blogger was talking about like Argentina requesting more personal info from its internet users than the US, followed by Britain or something in third.

Uh? Suicide bombing has got to be the most groundbreaking military strategy since "all join main". Plus, the people who do it get 72 virgins in heaven, so for jihadists it's the only way to go.

Nothing is new about Guerrilla Warfare or Kamikaze attacks which suicide bombing is a mixture of both. If you said IEDs that would of been slightly more acceptable even though it's the same concept as mines.

Last time i checked, Google normalizes the data, which means that they take into account that out of the 1,200 internet users in Afghanistan, maybe 1/10 of them search for the word 'taliban'.
The interest level is by percentage rather than by head count.
Plus, the people who do it get 72 virgins in heaven, so for jihadists it's the only way to go.

Almost, I think it was the Iranian one. Iran's government is generally very hilarious when it comes to the overinterpretation of religious scripts.
One example is how they handle prostitution, it's is entirely forbidden, but you can get married to a woman for two hours, because there is nothing in the Qur'an that condradicts it. They are not officially breaking the rules, guys!
