Ok I didn't know if this has been discussed before and didn't feel like going through all threads to see if it was lol, so i'd though i'd start one here, who has seen the Singaporean dub of one piece and what do you think of it here's some clips of the dub
Singapore English Dub of One Piece

-
wow Nico robin voice is cool. i dare say she even better than the original voice actor. luffy voice actor doesn't really fit him though.
how many episode has been dubbed in singapore anyway? -
Sorry, but this sounds like a cheap fandub… some voices are good but... Mr 9 sounds like a friggin retard. But I like how they kept in words like "die" and "kill" and even have proper attack names (Igarappa)... and they even keep in blood. But... do they call Vivi a queen?
Luffy sounds horrible. But Robin sounds good actually.
-
You're right, it does sound like a fandub. I would dare say that the 4kids dub was better than this.
-
Robin's voice is an A+, but everyone elses is kind of bleh….
-
Sounds like a fandub
And do people speak English in Singapore cause I always thought it was like Chinese or something…

Yes people do speak english in Singapore it's like the second language there
-
Do you even know where Singapore is ?
And I think there was a thread for this a long time ago with DL links . I know a guy had a whole site about it aparently .

-
I personally don't like the dub either it does sound like a fan dub but i'd thought I'd post so people would know it exists plus it's about One Piece
-
What I would wanna know would be info on the suposed Greek dub . You know where they were suposed to have renamed Luffy to "Drake" .

Yes i actually do know where Singapore is, i don't see as why that is important and there is a site still up that give info about the singaporean dub of One Piece
-
I was responding to 1000sunny . Granted 70 % of the people in Singapore are actualy Chinese , but English and Malayan are the two primary languages as far as I know .
-
Wow, as others have said it sounds like a fandub. I'd even go as far as to say that Luffy and Zoro sound better in the 4Kids dub.
But was this dub edited to or anywhere near the extent of 4Kids?
-
I like it. In interesting spin on it. I'd say fandub is a bit harsh but it's certainly amateurish and slightly cheap
-
Oh, we have a thread of this dub. But I think it's anciet. Yeah, it DOES sound like a medicore fandub, but it being uncut keeps it a stepping-stone away from 4kids. I think the voice actor of this dub's Luffy is a member of this forum! I'll dig up the thread and give ya a link, just wait a sec.
edit: Okies! Here it is for yur viewing pleasure ;D
-
Anyone know where I can find the lot of this to download?
-
I remember watching the first few eps of this on Youtube.
Luffy sounded good. When 4KIDS stopped Dubbing I turned to Odex for my fix. It's stopped production though, ain't it ?
-
This would have been better if they recording their lines without lowering the sound and music. Some of the voices are fun though. Others, not so much.
-
Yeah, I always thought it sounded like a fandub too. Some voices are okay, the majority are meh, and Luffy's just just bad.

But 4Kids dubbed farther than they did. And yes, Odex stopped. Both 4Kids and Odex stopped at 104 episodes but keep in mind 4Kids skipped some stuff so they got up to episode 143's material.
-
Out of all the voices I heard, only Kuro and Robin were any good, they were actually kind of better than the other versions. The rest were laughable.

Oh ok my apologies

It was edited and somewhat censored but not as much as 4kids and they did have a little bit of cursing in it, i haven't seen any other episodes from the dub, it kind peaked my interesting and i also think why it sounds like a fan dub alot of the people play the main characters play the other characters aswell like Luffy for example Chuck Powers plays luffy (the main character), in the 2nd season he play both luffy & usopp (the original VA left) so yeah they must be really cheap or have a real shortage of actors.

Oh ok i remember this thread now, it's been so long i forgot, i wonder if Pirateking still has those dubs of the singapore dub i like to make video comparisons

Hello boys and girls. It's half term break so I can come back and answer these kinds of questions for the remainder of this week. Besides, we all need a break from the 'fun' that is revision now and then.
Anyway, on to this dub. Yes, the clips that Onepieceanimefan23 uploaded were from an account I made on a site which I have forgotten the name of. I also uploaded a few new clips on my SingaporeanOnePiece youtube account. If you want to know how much I have of it, I own 66 episodes (01-39, 53-78 and 86 to be exact) and have made clips from 10 of those. I do actually plan to upload more clips this summer (along with the never released Singapore dub of Conan).
Along with Chuck Powers actually having a membership here, I've actually talked to the majority of the cast (still keep up with Brian every now and then). They were actually really nice people to talk to and it's a shame i've haven't been able to talk to them since. By the way, the Robin in this dub (who also voiced Vivi) has actually acted in a 4kids production, that being 'Winx Club' (Can't remember what role she played however).
About the website. I made it back in the day when I had little knowledge or how website building worked so I do admit it's pretty basic. I do plan to create a newer better version of it someday, with a complete sound clip collection (It's pretty much 10 voices on the main site) with clip links and so fourth. I don't know when that will happen but I do hope I finish it sooner than later.
If you'd like to discuss this more with me Onepieceanimefan23 (or anyone else for that matter), please message me on Skype or AIM sometime. I'd be sure to be reply for the remainder of this week. Speak to you then.
