idk if a topic was made already about this..just move this to that thread or delete it if so..anyways…the elemental fruits..does anyone notice that the clothes are one with their abilities?...how does that work?..if the devil fruit also incorporates your clothing, then wouldn't luffy's clothes be rubbery too or is that just for elemetnal fruit users?..maybe i am thinking way too much..but w/e..just a thought

this has been talked about before. i just dont have time to find the link. zio? GA? SHL?

This is mainly an eastethics thing.. it would be a bit awkward to have Croc parade around naked as soon as he starts to use his powers. It's like the "indestructible underpants"-thing in marvel comics people talked about.. you can burn em at 5000°C and everything will burn.. except their underpants.
btw I don't remember this being talked about, maybe before I joined..

I like to think of it that way that a skilled logia user learns to use his DF power at maximum efficiancy which means that he can even turn things he is wearing to the element he turns himself to.
I´m aware with that there are flaws in this logic. However I for myself like this explenation the best. :P

maybe there are certain type of clothes that a logia user must wear..cause in the book "animorphs"..when they morphed.they had to wear a certain clothing in order to blend in with their morphage (doesnt make much sense..but if you read the books..i think you understand)..

I think I found it.

… I think it's been a while, and maybe we could get some more discussion going, but I'll leave it up to e1n or another Mod. I'm not quite sure if we ought to close it just yet.

It's not just the logia that works on the cloths ya know. Check like Doublefinger in Alabasta.

yeah..thats why i am confused..like can luffy's clothes be rubbery too?..well ithink double finger's clothes were specifically desgined for her ability

Well, Luffys cloths work that way too. Like when he turns to a balloon for an example.
-
A lot of her clothes DID rip off. Oda said that if they all ripped off he'd have to make it an adult manga.
-
No, they didn't. Not when she used her DF at least. Her clothes were partly destroyed because of Nami's attacks.

Well, no! Take a closer look at a scene where he does that. His clothes just look chibi compared to him. lol.

i have the perfect explanatioin for this….its a COMIC (manga watevr...) u cant expect the writer/drawer to show naked people strutting around every time they use their power or someone get a new shirt everytime they stretch...
this is like asking how come they never go to the bathroom -
Included: Buggy's clothes, Wapols clothes, Mr. 5's clothes, and Mr. 1's clothes (they don't rip when he turns part of his body sharp). :P
-
yeh if u read the volumes, in SBS ppl often ask questions like this, and as kiden4911 sez, u cant expect to have naked ppl to b walking around evry time they use a power. let us not forget that this is a shounen manga = manga for younger audience. if it were an adult manga u may see something different :P the same reason goes for in manga evryone can speak to each other no matter where theyre from, just becos u dont want 50 pages worth of getting a translator unless its relevant to the story line ofcourse…
