This game looks so fucking amazing, it's pretty much an improved version of GTA set in the Old West. It's an open game and you can pretty much go wherever you want to. You can hunt for bounties, hunt animals and skin them, etc. There's a type of morals system as well, so you can be either a good guy or a bad guy.

I can't wait, been wanting a sequel since the first one. Loved the theme and characters but the Deadeye sold me for sure. The weapons and duels made for a fun western experience that I hope will be magnified in this new one. It's a bit more real looking then the previous RD which I don't mind with the addition of custom outfits. Looks like it's going to be good time.
I don't remember much from the first game other then the kickass multiplayer, so hopefully it'll still have that element to the game.
I'm a bit of a Western junkie and I've loved everything I've seen from the game so far, so I can't wait to sit down with it for hours on end.
More people probably have a PS3 here. I'll be one of the members here playing RDR on 360.

Fully agreed. I would love it if people could play together no matter the console(expect obvious differences like the Wii), I've talked about it with friends for years. Beyond the idea of competition and a monopoly on online playing, the simple idea of playing with anybody is something I think many gaming fans could get behind(not including stupid console war fan boys).

Yeah, but San Andreas was also packed with stuff, where as RDR will just be having allot of open land.
Hmm, have PS3 sales been creeping up behind my back? I remember a while ago it was like finding a straight guy at a Twilight book signing to find a PS3 owner. I'm a 360 owner, I've been looking forward to this game since I heard about it.
The PS3 is selling incredibly well right now, ever since the $299 price point. It is currently out of stock all over in the US.
True, for allot of gamers also in need of a Blu-ray player, it's an awesome deal considering the price of other players which do far less (though probably better). Where do they stand in terms of consoles sold compared to Wii and 360?

I really liked Red Dead Revolver, though the controls are kinda meh =/ Hopefully they improved the handling for this version (or, it could just be that I'm not that good at FPS pffft, but it was harder for me to play that then it was Halo)

TPS = Thrid-Person Shooter. You can see your character on screen in a third person view (example is Jet Force Gemini)
FPS = First-Person Shooter. You see the things your character would see an a first person view and see their gun and hand but not the whole character. (example is Goldeneye)
Sandbox = Open-ended world where the game doesn't force you to progress the story and you can have fun messing around without worrying about accomplishing specific goals all the time. (example is Grand Theft Auto San Andreas)

you're 5 dollars (or however much you paid) will stay in the system until you come back and get it. You can get it refunded, preorder a different game, or use it as store credit.
We generally prefer you to put it down towards a different preorder, but it's your money so whatever works.

I think what he's saying is that if you don't pick up your preorder, the money you used to preorder it will still be valid so you can use it for something else.
I'm gonna shell out $23 a month to GameFly starting tomorrow so I can get this game because I haven't even dented Super Mario Bros. Wii, nor would I get it sent back in time if I sent it now anyhoo.

Goddammit, GameFly! I was completely confused by RuNa's post because according to GameFly it's suppose to release today, the 17th. Thought releasing a title on a Monday was strange.

Sucks that I might not get it first day, probably not even first week. Money's tight, but I will get this glorious game.
With how much you seem to be able to do in the game, plus the mortality feature allowing for more replay value, this is probably best bought than rented. But $23 is more affordable to me than $60. A lot of retailers are giving $15-$25 gift cards with its purchase, but you're still spending $60.

Well, look at that. Apparently GameFly got the game a day early and the 17th release date was right, they just sent the game out to me. Hopefully it's here by Thursday.

Me too, I really enjoyed that part and hope that they use it plenty of times. Only draw I hated was Mr. Kelley, I needed to get through that level with no hits to earn him in Multi-player but dude was able to get off at least one shot every time.

Yeah, I thought it was out on the 28th. I also love the load screens in Revolver. I wish I could make the entire thing into a .gif and use it as an avatar or sig.
