First of all, this is the first time in a long while i've read a chapter of OP without already knowing the gist of whats going to happen (spoilers)
Thank heavens Oda didn't draw out the plot leaving Luffy in his unconscious state. I thought that was what was going to happen so i was kinda not too excited about it, and then BOOM, 2 weeks are up and Luffy is very much awake.
Luffy's forest scene really got to me (i was sobbing halfway through). Oda really portrayed Luffy's emotional state perfectly and I don't know why people are thinking it was an annoying addition to the chapter. I thought it was exactly what was needed. To see Luffy let it all out. It was kind of a relief for me because it had kind of been building up. To me, Oda really kept to Luffy's character in this chapter and thankfully hasn't gone the usual rout of manga where there's some dazed-out angsty look on the main characters face from then on out.
Oda is one of the only authors that keeps me interested during flash-backs, because they have been so well thought out. Usually i kinda skim the other ones (like bleach).
To be honest though, i hope the flash back isn't too long cause i wanna know where the heck we go from here with the plot.
