The third season of Sam & Max is being released episodically from April to August, and the first episode is out now!

I've only played the first season of Sam & Max with some of the second (though I've been filled in on the plot details), along with Telltale's Strong Bad game, and they are some of the funnier games that I've played! As well, it's an episodic series that releases on a regular schedule, so that's a plus.

I bought the season pass but my computer is apparently to weak to work them… I'm now trying to find an internet cafe near me where I can download the episodes and play it, but I'm having no such luck on that end, either.

I did love the first two seasons, though, along with Hit the Road. I still need to pick up some of the Sam & Max comics since I love the series so much.

Sam & Max has never disappointed me. That's why I'm so annoyed that I can't play the third season yet. It's just a continually hilarious series and the games remain some of the few last great adventure games.

The new episode was a bit on the easy side, but it's probably my most favorite of them yet. It felt like…I don't know, like Steve Purcell drew it. And it's hilarious as usual.

Well actually, they really didn't. Telltale Games was made up of former LucasArts employees who had already worked on Sam & Max before. So it's not really like this is a whole different company.

I finally got to play through the Penal Zone and I loved it. The future sight did make things a bit easy, but it made certain things all the more humorous. The banana peel scene, for example, was actually rendered hilarious, even though the subversions themselves have become sort of cliché. It stands as one of my favorite Sam and Max game episodes. I particularly enjoyed the first teleportation scene, Skun-ka'pe and ol' Lobey (Gordon the brain).

My guess is that the narrator will be the main enemy of this season, simply because he has no connection to the plot otherwise.

Also, I liked the fact that the new mayor's policies, or "this is a city, not a daycare center", were the explanation for why the city looks so drastically different this time around, and that they explained how Max retained his presidency somehow ("That outbreak of the bubonic plague really helped my numbers!").

The season finale is out, and it was easily the best episode of the season! Flint Paper's explanation as to what was going on with his subplot later in the game easily ranked up there with the first episode's opening in terms of confusing nonsensical plot twists, there was a nice Team Fortress 2 cameo (just a dispenser, but still, a nice touch), and the story managed to involve all of the characters from this season, plus a good deal from the previous seasons (including Abe Lincoln, Mr. Featherly, and Satan).

The ending was quite fantastic. I think the episodes just kept getting better and better and the finale was no exception.

By the way, did you check the dispenser out in episode 4? There was more to it there. If you're lazy:

Speaking of Sam & Max, replaying through the first season. At the last episode and will be hitting up Season 2. Man I loved that online game episode. So many inside jokes.
