Anybody watching David Simon's new television show? I thought the pilot was pretty awesome and if it helps out New Orleans in any way, I'm for it.

I'm watching it, it's good to see some old faces from The Wire in it.

On another message board, I was trying to find out if anyone had watched the premiere on Sunday but nobody had.
I've decided to watch the show in batches, instead of week to week.
And yes, I love the fact that it has a lot of characters from The Wire on it, which I feel The Wire (the first 4 seasons at least) is the greatest TV Series in history.

That might be the way to go, although I heard from AV Club that the third episode is really, really good.
And yes, I wholeheartedly agree that The Wire is the greatest TV series in history. Followed closely by Deadwood, because Ian Mcshane (sp?) is all that is man.

Fantastic news, Dude.
After reading up on Kermit Ruffins, he's become a new hero of mine.
"So, all you want to do is play some trumpet, smoke some pot, and barbecue the rest of your life?"
"Sounds 'bout right."

Deadwood was very good.
I would go with Six Feet Under or The West Wing.

Just finished the first episode. Have to say I love the "Wire-feel". And I'm definitely digging the music.

Still pretty good. It's not the best show on television (either of the AMC shows wear that particular crown), but it's high-quality television and that happens few and far between.
