@mrsword:
That would mean Wano will be running for around 4 years, that's nuts! How many more arcs do we have? And the final one will surely surpass Wano, didn't Oda say he wanted to finish OP in 5 years? That sounds impossible.
Unless we literally enter the final saga right after Wano.
That's the gist of it. Robby mentioned how the W7/EL arc had 120 chapters, 322 to 441. I feel it's probably a good place to start some comparisons.
That arc, taken as a whole, started in May 2004 and ended Jan. 2007. That was before Oda's standardized break schedule, and it produced an average of 45 chapters a year, each chapter having about 18-19 pages of story content (not including cover stories and color spreads).
Wano started July 2018 at Chapter 909/910, depending on how you want to slice it. Either way, we're officially past 100 chapters in April 2021, with an average 35 chapters per year. That means we've got about 20 fewer chapters in the same span of time, 2 years and 9-10 months. Plus, each chapter now has a consistent 16 story pages, 17 for color spread chapters. That's equal to losing one more chapter a year.
And since Wano is still setting up fights rather than executing them, that definitely means Wano as a whole will surpass 120 chapters. How much further than that is hard to guess; Oda could wrap up fights quickly if he wanted, but I wouldn't imagine more than 2 finishing moves per chapter, which still accounts for a lot considering how many match-ups there are. And again, the post-battle cooldown will take some time.
