Can't wait to see him rip it up.
But yeah. This chapter. Everyone is in a heck of a lot deeper than they know.
Throughout this month, we will be testing new features (like search) so you may experience some hiccups from time to time. We'll try to not be too disruptive...

Am I the only one who freaked out at this?
No you're not
He's such a baller, he's wearing sunglasses.
http://geek-news.mtv.com/2012/06/14/attack-on-titan-creator-hajime-isayama-interview/?xrs=share_red
2010 Isayama interview included in the English release of volume 1.
Official English title is "Attack on Titan," which is the English text that appears under "Shingeki no Kyojin" in the original Japanese volume covers as well
Well damn, each chapter keeps reducing the probability of humanity surviving.
I assume that guys the same as Eren otherwise everything we learned about regular titans so far wouldn't realy add up.
Somebody want to explain wtf just happened? lol
They never catch a break, do they?
I liked King Kong Deviant's design.
That talking giant was seriously creeping me out.
Man. Hajime Isayama really knows how to [bestow terror](http://www.surfcanyon.com/search?f=sl&q=bestow terror&partner=wtigck) upon his readers. As soon as I saw the ape like Titan speak…. it sent a chill down my spine.

I've heard a lot of hype about this series but never got around to reading any of it until recently when I picked up the first volume. I really like it and I think that this series has loads of potential. I've heard that the art improves over time which is good because it is one of my few complaints with what I have read.

Glad to know i'm not the only one.
After reading this chapter… it made me think is there any hope for humanity?
His art just perfectly fits the story.
I was really scared back then, a year ago, when I first saw that colossal one looking over the wall. And now I'm freshly spooked again by this orangutan giant. It must be the eyes, coupled by his actions.
I'm surprised that they don't know about 3d maneuver gear and blades. Either whoever sends them out doesn't inform giants so sentient, or he became deviant while walking towards target. He did not attack him right away despite having height and long arms, and knew nothing about humans. Like he wasn't expecting anything from scouts.
I wonder if the ones inside the walls know anything about the source of giants outside the walls novadays, or they separated hundred years ago and are not connected now.
Humanity is in deep shit now.
God, even the way these giants run is so grotesque and inhuman.
This last chapter was so awesome. That titan belongs to what? a 4th faction?

I thought the same, human titans that have a settlement outside the wall.
The last chapter really stressed me out. The fucking thing just talked! And it looks like they are a different group from the usual, or the freaks can actually evolve and only just recently develop curiosity about the 3DMG. And it seems like the intelligent ones are actually organized and the others are their fodders. The humans better discover nuke fast.
Awesome talking giant is awesome
Im gonan stop reading this for about a year and then marathon it. was more than a bit annoyed at the rose wall fight, when there are threads left hanging with the actual plot. I mean we already know some of the giants can talk(wha twas established a year ago), finish the annie/titan in the wall thread before skipping to about a volume's worth in fights with character nobody cares about and are obviously going to die, he just needs to get on with the story and quit stalling. It's pretty obvious that the top brass are in the know about the titans. . .the best course of action for the scouting crew leader would have been to call all of the scouting legion back to the main city immediately beef up the defense there, and demand answers fomr the king/top brass about the titan business(with the threat of releasing the titan(s) in the wall and all walls. . .just common sense…)...Just tired of being teased month after month. Especialyl after seeing that humanity is being royally fucked...by humanity itself MUCH more than the titans. . .I mean dude there's titans in the wall and the scouting leader has to be questioned about shitty details such as dammage?! and he didn thave the balls to demand answer form the questioner? I call extreme bullshit on that... anyway, I'll be back in a couple of years...I know its "Sacrillage" to say you don't like something so many others like on the net these days, so just view me as a troll instead of someone with an opinion It'll make those who get upset at my opinions feel better and not get mad and lash out at someone who wont read their comments.
But still. . .this teasing shit is just dumb, and reminds me of claymore.
Dont see the need to defend your opinion, luphrecio! Usually you dont get attacked for posting your opinion, except if you voice criticism against OP, but this is mostly from all the little kids around here and even then a lot of people were very unhappy with the Fishman Island arc and expressed their concern. But you can say your opinion about anything else without much problems around here. well, maybe not if you defend naruto/bleach, in which case you would be trolling anyway.
In regards to your post: Somehow agree, though I dont think, that SnK is a particullary slow-moving series. There is usually a lot of content in each chapter.
Im gonan stop reading this for about a year and then marathon it. was more than a bit annoyed at the rose wall fight, when there are threads left hanging with the actual plot.
I dont mean to attack you but, the rosa wall falling is really necessary to further the plot as it has been established, that the human population cant thrive if the rosa wall would fall. Thus the human population would need to be desperate, they cant hide behind the wall anymore.
Sometimes it feels like the story is moving too quickly, and since this is a monthly manga, it's easy to feel like the author isn't pacing himself properly. Usually with monthly mangas, it feels like the story is moving too slow e.g Berserk, Claymore, Vinland Saga, so this is might be considered a nice change.

What the fuck are you talking about
How did you somehow come to the conclusion that a wall being breached and titans invading human territory again wasn't an extremely important part of the "actual plot"
You do know what Shingeki no Kyojin means right
I mean we already know some of the giants can talk(wha twas established a year ago),
The significance of the ape titan is something else entirely than OMG HE TALK!!!
It establishes the fact that sentient titans who aren't part of the rogue faction of humans living inside the walls exist
It's a huge development and it's hilarious that you failed to understand that because you can't follow more than one plot point at the time
Get some ritalin
finish the annie/titan in the wall thread before skipping to about a volume's worth in fights with character nobody cares about and are obviously going to die, he just needs to get on with the story and quit stalling.
You're honestly hopeless if you still didn't get Ryner and Bertholdt are Annie's accomplices
Ryner might even be the armored titan
Just because we changed locations it doesn't mean the human conspiracy plot is getting ignored

Hahaha what
Why would Irvin commit suicide by directly opposing the king and what is even that ridiculous idea that he can threaten to release the titans in the walls
YOU GUYS YOU BETTER ADMIT YOU CAN TURN INTO TITANS AND WANT TO DESTROY MANKIND OR ELSE I'M GOING TO HELP YOU DESTROY MANKIND YOU HEAR ME
You haven't thought that out very well have you
…Just tired of being teased month after month.
Yeah I too hate mystery based thriller stories and thought this was some sort of episodic gag manga
Especialyl after seeing that humanity is being royally fucked…by humanity itself MUCH more than the titans. . .I mean dude there's titans in the wall and the scouting leader has to be questioned about shitty details such as dammage?! and he didn thave the balls to demand answer form the questioner?
He and the scouting legion are in a position of weakness after the disaster of their last mission and they're not in the position to make demands especially to people who might not be in the know about the conspiracy
Welcome to the wonderful world of politics where things are a bit more complicated than whipping out your dick and slapping the other guy in the face with it until he submits to your point of view
I call extreme bullshit on that… anyway, I'll be back in a couple of years...I know its "Sacrillage" to say you don't like something so many others like on the net these days, so just view me as a troll instead of someone with an opinion It'll make those who get upset at my opinions feel better and not get mad and lash out at someone who wont read their comments.
It's pretty fucking obvious you didn't think about any of this for more than a second and just went on some mindless rant for attention's sake so there you have it, get your pity reply
But still. . .this teasing shit is just dumb, and reminds me of claymore.
Don't let the door hit your ass on your way out and learn how to write paragraphs

...
Honestly, I also missed this… I feel ashamed now.
I don't even know who Ryner and Bertholdt are lol
Yeah me neither. I barely remember anyone in this series. The artwork on the humans is sort of the only down side to this series. They're so unmemorable most of the time.
Yeah, and tons of the humans in the series are kind of difficult to tell apart
So I finally started reading this thing properly. What can I say? It's great stuff. I think the moment that really made me know it was something special, was when Erens mom died; at first its a standard noble shonen sacrifice, but then we actually see the mother ask them not to leave her, and break down completely. That gut-wrenching depiction of total fear is miles beyond its contemporaries in terms of realism, and it took the titan threat to a whole new level.

Are you caught up, dude?
Not yet, I'm in the training flashback currently, but I'm catching up fast. Though the arms can be a bit freaky sometimes I don't mind the art really, but I can see where you're coming from with the characters; Currently, I'm just wondering if the people I'm seeing in the flashback were the ones who just got eaten in the present-day battle.
I don't even know who Ryner and Bertholdt are lol

Are you guys reading this series while you're studying for your finals or just rushing through it to get to the funny scenes of humans getting devoured or something
Because I honestly don't get how you can say stuff like that
The author goes through the trouble of doing an entire volume worth of flashback introducing Eren's fellow trainees, it's not like these are super obscure characters that only appear once or twice either
Ritalin, people, ritalin

They don't leave an impact on me, they all look the same and most of them die all the time anyway, so I think I can be forgiven for not remembering them.

I can understand not knowing who Bertholdt is because being nondescript is pretty much his entire characterization but Ryner at least has a very distinctive face
But the point is if you paid any attention at all to the whole Annie subplot, you had to notice these two guys because of how suspicious they are

Maybe I have but I almost certainly don't remember their names. Or which is which. Or when I last saw them. Maybe if Isayama actualy developed some side characters and then let them survive I'd care to remember.
The only dead one among the top ten rookies from Eren's age group is Marco
Do you at least know who Sasha is? Connie? Jean?
@No:

I really cant understand that you dont know them as the flashback was really done to flesh Annie, Rainer and Berthold. The other top ten and the freckled boy/girl to lesser extent. Rainer, Berthold and annie all got a backstory in the flashback although suspicious. Berthold and Rainer were said to live in mountainous area in the area behind the outermost wall and had to flee from there in. Berthold always does what Rainer tells him to do, that has become were obvious.
And these are specially the individuals that were deemed stronger than Eren. They all have pretty distinct personalities and when it was showed in which order they were in chapter 2 it was pretty obvious that those were the characters that we were supposed to focus on. They all behave differently and he has shown really differences between these 10 characters + armin and the freckled dark haired buy girl.
It's just that I'm reading so many ongoing series simultaneously that it's tough to keep track. It's on me, not Isayama.
Looking back, it seems like no named soldiers other than Armin and Mikasa took place in the escort Eren mission. Cool, means Mr Realist and the Potato girl trio will stick around, I like them.
I just read this in one sitting - great read. I agree with The Daz on at least the potato girl being a great character.
The Annie thing was pretty obvious, but well executed nonetheless. It wasn't really meant to be a shocker, I don't think. I'm making an assumption, but if the planet is the size of Earth, then I don't think it's unreasonable to fathom other communities clustering together like this. There's a lot of directions this manga can go, but at the moment, it seems like the end result will be the death of humanity.

Here's a new chapter. Things actually end on a happy note this time.
Oh god Sasha oh god I though you were a goner
Isayama has an insane ability to escalate the tension up to the point I both do and do not want to turn the next page. Combined that it was a chapter about Sasha, my second favorite character, I barely have words to say how relived I was with that ending. The moment when she dropped the bow and grabbed the arrow!..
Also, creiz, the TDX translator, pointed out that the freckled lesbian has been given a name this chapter. She is called Ymir. The name the talking titan from the dead scout notes was uttering.
Then you realize that Ilse Langner looks like Ymir
Which is why that titan got confused
Isayama's foreshadowing is just so fucking good
Hahaha i loled at that titan's face at the end of page 24. Nothing really important happened, but it was a entertaining chapter
@Devil:
Nothing really important happened
Yeah the possibility that the titans creator/ruler is one of the soldiers from Eren's age group is no big deal true
Sorry, i missed that ( i often need to read a chapter twice to get some points ), could you please explain me that?
@Devil:

The girl with the freckles in Sasha's flashback is called Ymir
That's the same name that talking titan uttered in this special chapter:
http://www.mangareader.net/shingeki-no-kyojin/16/11
That implies that titan thought Ilse Langner was Ymir since they look like each other
And Ymir is apparently someone the titans are submissive towards
