I don't agree at all. The majority of people who frequent the collectibles thread are amazing and quite honest. We all help each other out with figures and (usually) for lower prices so our community can benefit. If you don't really participate you wouldn't be able to see how great it can be, so I see why you might say that.
As with any community bad eggs show up once in a while so problems inevitably arise. I wouldn't allow the occasional crook to interfere with my otherwise pleasant experiences here, though.

Despite the fact that most of us only have immediate access to the One Piece manga through pirating we probably support Oda through our legitimate merchandise pre-orders/purchases more than most people on this forum. o: I do buy the Japanese tankobon whenever I can as well.
Anyways, if Japtou is fununiverse then I'd say they're reliable and legit, fununiverse has been pretty good with orders and I've had good experiences with them. Can't remember much about stylings, I've misplaced most of my boxes, heh. If the stylings are bootlegged you'll usually see misprinted or messy lettering on the boxes, but your best bet is to order from a trusted source in the first place since it's usually too late for you to do anything once you have the figs in your possession.

FYI Toys Logic just pushed their dates back for some One Piece products from
1/30 to 3/1, when I've already seen some items in Toys N Joys.

It doesn't matter if shipping from Japan costs more than within the U.S., because sellers in the U.S. charge a lot more for the figure itself than Japan so it evens out. If it was possible to be buying within North America so easily, we'd all be doing it.

Well I was just giving my two cents on them being legit.
People as well companies change, hence the science of Customer Service.
I have had one bad experience with them, however their items on that order were Legit. It was pretty much a misunderstanding I suppose , but on this second order, I told them I needed my item by monday (because they sometimes takes up to 3 days to process an order) and they timely shipped pretty much the day after and got here in time and all the contents were legitimate. So I really can't complain and this being the second time I receive legitimate items from them, I pretty much can say that IN MY OPINION they are legitimate sellers with legitimate merchandise and an improving customer service.

Well thats true lol, but what I mean is that it is also an actual walk-in store and one of the few legit anime stores in NYC. So yes everything they sell is 100% authentic.

The figures are legit, technically speaking. I've visited their store in Manhattan several times. But you're right, in terms of pricing they're really out there - I'd use them as a last resort. Little swing keychains are only worth 3-5 dollars at most and they tried to sell them for 8 bucks each. Youch.

Yeah, just to add on to what you said. I ordered GLM Vol 5 Law earlier this week and it got to me today and its legit.
Bought a figure from http://myworld.ebay.nl/lucky6818 last week and got it 5 days later, while it got shipped from Hong Kong (I live in Europe). The prices he offers are great and like I said, the shipping and delivery very fast. I recommend at least going through his list of items.

He have done the same bullshit of create two accounts with the same IP. He did that on the saintsieyagalley.com forum.
The second account he had in that forum was the one of a "hot chick" who "like" the saint seiya myth cloth figures. The "hot chick" posted video reviews of the myth cloth figures but the figures that "she" showed was exactly the same that the user "dragonxpiece" (usermname: mystik, in that forum) had on his own collection which he showed in the forum.
When the forum admin notice that there was two users with the same IP and give advice of that in the forum, the "hot chick" suddenly disappear and like in this forum the user dragonxpiece denied all and he argue that the "hot chick" who appear on the videos was friend of he or he said that he doesent know her, i cant remember exactly what does he said but it was something like that.
Redon is also a user in that forum, maybe he can say something about it.

I had a problem like that with Otacute. they wanted me to send my franky back and they refund me the money + partial initial shipping + the shipping I spent on sending it back, however it was not in my best interest since the figure was on sale, and if I did that, it would cost more.
So following that rule, you should contact them, but if they want you to send it back and they dont have anymore, think twice before doing so, and think what is better have a legit fig with no sticker or rebuying it somewhere else for $30 - $50 more .

I've used them with no issues and the same goes for a lot of people on here. They are very legit and honest as far as I can tell…went out of their way to refund me a couple hundred yen on shipping since they overcharged. Quick shipping as well, I'd recommend them.

Anyway, the sales page named the original company of the figure as "Tomy Yujin" and I messaged them asking "Is it the original product of Yujin / Takara Tomy?" They answered back saying they "only sell official item so it is real and official".

well she did and i modify the market place etc, then she kept using her account normal , u know posting and shit because it was after all an account for her.problem was that i only tried to create more rush on inishi because he was pretty much misleading me and i was desperate already but i had no money to get those pop at the time and i missed them at good price because i was sticking to his word.
when the whole ip shit broke, i was like wtf, cuz i NEVER tried to scam anyone or steal, im legit in that. and ppl took it the wrong way and started acusing me of something i didnt do (scammin,stealing,repaing off etc) so i had to defend myself because that was not true. the point is that if i admited about the whole account for my friend that had the same ip cuz we made it together using the same wifi (me on my laptop , she on hers) then they wouldnt believe that im not a scamer neither. so i couldnt accept it and i didint know how to react. that is pretty much the story short.

Deroo is a chap who you should not trust in trades. Alina traded some cards with him and he told her he would send the BB ones out. He didn't and instead sent some crappy common cards instead. He claimed that he sent them out yet later said to someone else that he has them back anyways and would only send out if she apologised to him.
Other people have done dealings with him. With him asking for cards, them getting cards and then him not replying to mails.
So yeah. Watch out for that one.

I've heard that Animaxis closed their site for quite some time now. Wouldn't it be a good idea to take it down from the list?
Creating a dupe to con money out of people is bannable enough. I thought calling him out on it and letting him stay was an adequate punishment since he'd probably never sell another POP here with his proverbial Scarlett Letter, but if everyone is going to pull out their hair over a dummy who can barely form sentances…
